Recorded in February 2012, this is the first radio interview done by Capital STEEZ & Joey Bada$$ in its entirety @ WNYU. No Ad's, No Bullshit. Just Straight Vision. Uploaded in the Best Quality Possible.
“They said I sound little nerdy, like what’s wrong with sounding smart ” “Nobody wants to listen to what’s good for them, it’s like eating vegetables, people need to eat their vegetables more”
Just wondering how you holding up man? Everyday seems worse when you know the truth and are woken especially when the most intelligent person speaking for us has been gone for years
@2 DeepWeb you're a fucking idiot if you think that's true, Steez was Joey's absolute best friend, and Steez's death absolutely destroyed Joey, and both he and Pro Era have never been the same since. Why you gonna spread rumors and misinformation on a situation you know absolutely nothing about, about people you've never met and were never friends with? Fake ass "fans".
Listening to steez in this interview is difficult, because he had so much potential, and it was just wasted in one single moment. Taken away from us too early. Just like Big L, they are two great rappers with limited catalogues, and we will never ever get any brand new material. Both Legends, both missed.
wouldnt big l fall in the same topic of him talking of B.I.G? of the whole drug rapper deal. i love big ; he is a lyricists but none the less he is not on the level to promote the 47. he was still battleing his ego
Steez was one of the greatest. RIP. Talking about the future, his tonal perception, double entendres, and everything else. I miss him so much and try to keep balance in my life everyday
31:59 Steez dropping real shit. People downplaying intelligence in favor of stupidity. TV 58:45 and forward. Joey talk about the whole good team with little talent. He dropped that line in one of his verses on Sweet Dreams. "Where I live it's either you know talent well and sell records, or no talent, well we still sell for the record". Daaaaamn!!!
This is brilliant. I can't believe I haven't heard this interview... R.I.P Steelo. I feel blessed to share the same perspectives in respect to both life and Hip-Hop. Eat yo Vegetables!
Dreaming Dolphin He WAS murdered. Murdered for money by his "best-friend" Joey Badass, Who is doing surprisingly well now... -.- He has time to release his own albums, but no time to release one for his deceased "best-friend"
I hope AK gets uploaded to streaming platforms its crazy how STEEZ’s legacy is almost erased these days. His social media’s are gone, his looseys on RU-vid also deserve to be put together as a project and put on streaming platforms. It’s also a shame there’s no more STEEZ day either. I hope Joey and STEEZ’s estate work it out and put his word back out there. 1999 is up and they tried putting PEEP up but it got taken down due to producers not getting paid for their work on that project. Idk what was going on 10 years ago behind the scenes but forget all that STEEZ’s word needs to be kept alive! 🙏🏽
Can someone link me the part where he talks about life and how we take things for granted and take are eyes off the little things like bees.. I'm tryna find it ..
I FUCKING LOVE STEEZ!!. He reminds me alot of myself. Very woke. Indigo Child/ StarSeed. Crystals, dimensions, Astral projection. I'm into all that shit and I'm 15. R.I.P King Steelo
Me Likeshit how don't really see any change in them they just got older and trying new things. if Joey changed he would most likely have left pro era two years ago.
Jalal Kader u ain't no real pro fan if u are trying to just forget steez... it's are job to keep his legacy going an to hopefully show the world someday how steez thought an his perspective of the world
Steez was the leader after all, or at least the director. Pro Era's mantra was started by him and Powers. With Steez passing how he did, it was probably awkward, and they were directionless.
Dont believe what you see too much. It was never joey bad ass's crew. It was suppose to be mutual all of it. Steez was the bond. Steez was tryna build an empire. Duhhh. Why suicide?
I'm at 43 minutes in, and steez just mentioned that survival tactics was supposed to be featured on amerikkkan korrupion as well as 1999. ive listened to AK many times before and not one version, especially not the one(s) featured on the PE website has survival tactics as a track. did something happen I'm not aware of? i might be overthinking this because of the negative joey hype by steez fans but why did it only go on joeys?
Here an except from this article: While countless resources from Cinematic had gone toward promoting Joey as a star, Steez wasn’t getting the same attention, and AmeriKKKan Korruption wasn’t taking off. Cinematic had two professionally made videos produced for Joey’s tracks around the time that his mixtape, 1999, dropped, but, other than a rough, amateur video for AmeriKKKan Korruption cut “Vibe Ratings,” the crew didn’t release a Steez video (for “Free the Robots”) until September 2012, five months after its initial release. *In a similar vein, “Survival Tactics” had initially been credited to Joey Bada$$ and Capital Steez-Steez had found the beat, and the song was his idea-but it had been rebranded as “Joey Bada$$ featuring Capital Steez” by the time the video made by Cinematic’s multimedia partner, Creative Control, was released.* It was Joey who Cinematic had been after the whole time, and though Steez had impressed Shipes, he hadn’t convinced him that he would be a good investment. “I don’t think everybody is meant to do business together and that just wasn’t something that fit,” says Shipes. Joey was an easier artist to promote, an energetic MC with plenty of skill and an ineffable cool, in contrast to Steez, whose scruffy image and strong viewpoints didn’t lend themselves easily to the superficial whims of the blogosphere. “He could have been commercial if he sacrificed a few things, which he wasn’t willing to do,” says Jesse Rubin, who worked at Cinematic before leaving later in 2012. Don't think he found the beat because a guy they knew did, but it was originally Steelos.
@@UnplayedGaming "if he sacrificed a few things" are you kidding me I still think they got his ass outta here I love STEEZ I wish he was still here 47 til infinity
