NBC News' Leigh Ann Caldwell reports that officials briefed on the investigation say 25-year-old Noah Green from Indiana is the person who attacked the Capitol today. Green died from his injuries after being hit by police gunfire.

All these condolences are nice, but if this was a white guy, he'd be labeled a racist immediately. Thanks double standard media. It's really fascinating how this story lost any steam 12 hours after the incident. About 24 hours later, there were zero mentions of it in the news, but several articles about the Chauvin trial, lots of stuff about AAIP, and a side-by-side of the reaction of Trump v. Obama on the MLB. The Atlanta shooting was still top billing a week and a half after.
