Oh boy, I'm about to make your day. Give the game MARVEL INFINITY WAR a download at GameJolt - free, full playable game on Windows made with a program called OpenBor. It has a remake of this game, Maximum Carnage, Mutant Apocalypse, War of the Gems, AND it's own new Story Mode. For example of "more characters" you asked for? 32 characters to choose from in Captain America & The Avengers... here's a youtube link for gameplay... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SmZ9ylMB8m0.html
@@thenateyshow8900 thanks! you know I wrote that comment a year ago, I did find that openbor game after that and it's really good. thanks! there's a few different ones made by the same guy.
@@Liquidcadmus I did see you wrote it a year ago, but thought I would swoop in anyway! Check out TMNT Rescue Palooza if you haven't! Greatest Ninja Turtles game of all-time!
The most memorable thing I remember this game from back in the day is the infamous... "I.. can't move!" :D LOVE THIS GAME! And it's the only game I know that when you're close to beating the boss... The theme song picks up and it really got me amped to give it my all! Man you could hear those buttons really click at that point when you and your friends were playing.
It sounded to me like, "I CAN'T LOSE" at the time when their life force drops to zero, followed by "AMERICA, STILL NEEDS YOUR HELP" when all players are down & 9 seconds to continue. Fun.
I especially loved playing as Iron Man in this game. Man, 3 decades ago & in Jr College at the time. If this were ever available on PS4, WANT IT. "YOU CANNOT BEAT ME. HA HA HA HAAAAAA😈😆". Who could ever forget that😏? Thanks for the nostalgia & AVENGERS ASSEMBLE👊!!!
1:13 The Whirlwind boss has this weird "Oh-oh-oh-ah-ah" laugh. I played this game at a flea market when I was a kid and that laugh just got stuck in my head while trying to solo that quarter eating boss. Sometimes when I'm alone, I find myself doing that "Oh-oh-oh-ah-ah" laugh because it's so weird. 1:35 Also I love how throwing a broken piece of a stone wall causes an explosion on impact.

"What's this?" "It's another trap...you stupid men, hahahaha!!!" "We'll teach you the meaning of justice!!!" Seriously, whoever was responsible for this script work deserves a place of honor!
This game, Karnov's Revenge and Bad Dudes vs DragonNinja were the highlights of Data East in arcades of my town... Sadly Data East is no lorger active, thanks for the memories.
pretty sure this game's hilarious dialogue is cause of awkward translations cause the giant mecha octopus thing is called "mec. taco" and tako is moonland speak for octopus
This definitely needs an updated version complete with 4 player co-op and 8 player online with a dozen Avengers to choose from. Such great memories. My friends and I would yell "I CAN'T MOVE!" all day in the school cafetria as our inside joke. Lol
Epic classic. One of data east best. Favorite emulator I still play and enjoy. Also to me as a joke vision always looked like hes walking to his foes and away from Iron man like hes disappointed at them.
23:06 It gets down to that last sliver of health and not only does the boss go absolutely nuts, the scale on the health display goes haywire and that tiny bit of life suddenly takes way more hits to get rid of. Fiendish bastard developers.
One of the earlier instances where dynamic boss music plays a part in the game. Usually these sorts of games had the enemy start flashing red the closer they were to death, but this one let you know with the pickup of the soundtrack. Of course, the reason being why arcade games did this, to let you know the enemy was close to death, was to intend to get players to attack a bit more recklessly, which means more player death, which means more quarters.
When other heroes appear in-game to aid our heroes: Wonder Man appears: "Thank you, Wonder Man!" Wasp appears: "Wasp!" Quicksilver appears: "Thank you, Quicksilver!" Submariner appears: "Thank you, uh..." Submariner: "..." The Avengers: "...We'll be going now."
I know it not exactly plot-heavy and is just bit of mindless fun, but still... There is no way in hell that Red Skull would be able to brainwash master villains like the Mandarin or Ultron!
I remember way back when I had the game on SNES, it was referred to in the manual as "Mammoth Robot". I don't believe it's a copyright or licensing issue, I think they just wanted to differentiate it from the X-Men Sentinels.
I think there is more crossover between titles now then back then I used to read xmen back then and it always felt a bit more distant from the rest of the larger marvel u.....that was part of the appeal for many who didn't want to have keep up with alot of the other titles within marvel universe...
Juggernaut will work for anyone if they pay him enough. Also this game is 1991, far before the legal mess that is Marvel licensing came into being. Given the cringeworthy localization, it's probable that it's a bad translation on either end. Mech Taco!
Back in the day this used to be considered a terrible roster of Marvel characters you could pick for a beat 'em up, no X-men, Hulk, or Spider-man just seemed weird. Even Iron-man who used to be regulated to cameos or sometimes straight-up replace with War Machine. Noone could have ever imagined Hawkeye or Vision being known outside comics, let alone movies.
I would play this now with a few upgrades! ahhh, the memories of playing this at South of the Border on our family trips. Pedro won many coins that day! lmao
I swear if i ever win the lottery im going to have the ultimate arcade room in my attic. I'll even have that bright colored carpet with those crazy blacklight designs in it.
Chapter 3 BGM - "Instant Karma (Shine On)" John Lennon Lmao... As a 5th grader playing this game.. Whenever I got to this stage I thought about the Nike commercial for Huaraches '91 used that song.... So now.. Go to John Lennon video and say Avengers brought you here lol
Back when the only characters you kinder knew were Captain America and Ironman. I later learned the purple guy was Hawkeye but NEVER learned who the other guy was. Only know, rewatching gameplay, do I know it's vision.
Whoever translated this game did a piss poor job at it when it came to the dialogue. I mean when one of the Villains said "DON'T DISTURB US!!" and one of the avengers says "Why should it goes well?" That doesn't make sense.
One of my personal favorite arcade games and I just beat the game again at a local retro arcade place and my high score is 826,502 playing as my favorite Marvel superhero Iron Man
