I flew with Rusty back in the early 80's on the B-747. I never felt safer than when he was the Pilot. This guy can fly a plane like no other and on top of that one AWESOME guy!
Good job, Rusty! How old was that cardiologist? I'm told he was 72! Shouldn't doctors be required to cease all work at age 65? And shouldn't they be required to have co-doctors at all times? I mean, they could be senile! or they might die on the spot at the operating table! Ridiculous? Of course! This was a rare incident, and typical of commerical aviation, there are backups to cover every contingency. As Rusty says, a 'non-event'. Copilots did their job as expected!
