I've been working on old cars for 40 yrs.; never owned a new one; so i'm pretty up on them for most things; but everybody needs tips now and then when you confront one you haven't worked on. you are very good at explaining for people who don't do this much. keep up the good videos. it helped me to know what I would have to remove to get it out. thanks much
I have my 71 mercury with 351 cleveland all new set up and have blown battery , alternator , regulator , starter , cillanoid like 5 times already. The volts hold at 12 for about a day and then just shoot up to 16 , 17 .. I cannot figure out what the heck is going on. Any ideas.? I've changed all those parts 5 times already all new. And keeps happening
with my experience the fuse can be burnt but will still pass the continuity test , the starter require 120Amp peak , the AVOmeter doesn't make sure the 120Amps are still passing through, if the fuse is half burnt it will still pass the test but you will have problems starting the car every once in a while and you'll get crazy figuring out where is the problem
Sir, I wanted to asked you on my 2017 toyota camry le . Is their a battery fuse for my vehicle and how do I identify in the fuse box what it looks like. Good channel!! Thank you, Larry
Hey buddy question. If my battery fuse link keeps blowing after putting in new alternator what does that mean? I had to get a new plug for the alternator cause the old one broke.
I have a 2004 accent that has a relay buzzing. All started with weak battery that was replaced. I replaced the relay and it still buzzes. My alternator is putting out 13.9 volts. Could the voltage regulator on my alternator be bad and cause this problem? The buzzing stops when I start the car. If the voltage regulator on the alternator stopped working on the shut position would it cause this issue?
Do you have a video yet about the relay....because I'm thinking mines the relay and I'm researching how to fix it. I can't afford a mechanic so I'm trying to do it myself.
I'm having a problem.with my 2010 hyndai elantra. I replaced the battery and the clamps and now the car is acting like its a bad alternator. Of course I'm no mechanic so I can't tell if I should buy the alternator or not. Is there some steps you could help me to diagnose the problem. Thank you.
Thank you for this I plan on checking my fiancés fuse tomorrow. We had changed out the alternator 3 times this year and changed the battery as well after changing it out. Still no power. Don’t know if it’s the fuse or an electrical issue
Did you get it figured out? Just asking because I'm literally in the same boat as you and my truck has already had 2 batteries, an alternator and new leads I really need your update on this my friend 🙏
Can you help me 98 Chevy Silverado truck new battery new alternator put in yesterday battery won't hold charge I cannot find a fuse for the alternator do you know where it's at on that 98 K 2500 thank you much appreciated
Need to remove at least one end. That would be hard to do and you would be better off removing it to get an accurate reading. Make sure that the fuse is not on a piece of metal that could also give you a false reading on the meter.
Hey josh so if that alternator fuse is bad then no current can go thru the battery to keep it charged right? I had recently had the battery light come on and I replaced the alternator and put in a new battery I never thought to check the alternator fuse before I bought the alternator 🤦♂️ so I checked the alternator fuse and it turns out the alternator fuse is bad so I bought the fuse today and I’m about to replace it I just hope that fixes my problem
Alfonso Tapia, that's correct, it's there to protect your whole electrical system from high amperage coming through. So your alternator could have been failing too and blew the fuse (maybe it's good you replaced it!). If it happens again though, it's time to check your wiring, you might have a short somewhere along the line
Budget Mechanic hey josh so I know what fuse I need it’s the 125amp 32volt MIDI fuse but I see other ones with the same amp and volts but it’s labeled AMG does it matter what kind of fuse I use?
Budget Mechanic I have the same kind of fuse you have on your Hyundai Sonata except it’s a 125 amp, I checked every auto parts store where I live and they told me that they have never seen a fuse like that, this fuse is hard to find so I found it online and it should be here on Friday hopefully that fixes the battery light problem, I’ve checked the fuses and every wire that connects to the battery and alternator and everything is fine. Thanx Josh your a really big help
I have a 05 Corolla and my car has just started to turn off all the power sometimes when I turn to start ignition. Do you think it’s the alternator fuse?
Itz_ur_boy _kevin does your car start up and run? it seems unlikely but you would need to troubleshoot further. A bad alternator fuse would cause your battery to not charge and therefore be dead. You need to get the car started and measure the voltage at the battery while it's running
it's probably a bad connection on your battery terminals or corroded wire. remove the terminals, clean them and the terminal connector and see if that fixes it first.
@@BudgetMechanicHawaii have a 72 Chevy El Camino 350 and the alternator tests good but no return current to charge the battery. Need to test the voltage regulator but not sure how? Any ideas?
I’m not exactly sure on that car, but it will be under the hood in the fuse box there. Hopefully the fuse box lid has a diagram showing where the alternator fuse it
