My advice - don't ask them how much the car is, rather tell them how much you have in your budget - let them come down to your budget rather than them calling the shots.
@@atobee2595 That's if you tell them how much you are willing to pay monthly. Give them the max you'll pay for the car itself, not the monthly installment.
VW and toyota people buy them more for their resale value as well as service centers that are across South Africa as those two brands tend to have the most of.
@@Mal_Dyl this is why VW will charge you far more than brands like Suzuki. Most people who buy Toyota and VW are buying cars to use as daily runners. Not many people think about resale value.
What makes this channel so special and unique, is the realistic and honest content. Always addressing the big elephant in the room. People should see this if they're looking to buy a car.
Many people buy cars to show off or to compete with each other. All my colleagues bought cars worth more than 250k and are struggling. Then you get me who saved and bought a well looked after 2004 Audi A4 1.8T avant. No monthly payments except insurance and all the luxuries they have I also have. I have a family to feed not a community to impress. 😉
Where I work, I see white people driving old cars like Tazz, conquest. And they earn far more. Black people always come to work with expensive cars. You know I believe that these white folks have top of the range cars at home
My brother, I am with this plan, I need advise from you because people can say negative stuff about second hand hands while others are saying some positive like you
I started watching ur videos from June,i recently bought a car,n the day before I think I repeated some of ur videos 500 times.I’m happy and all thanks to you.Ur really helping us shem🙌🏻
I’ve only watched 1 video of yours and thought to myself, he should consider opening a second hand car consultation company. Buying a good trust worthy second hand car can be an intimidating ordeal. And I’d pay someone with the experience and know how to go through the finding a car for me loops I really would. Tell them my budget and what I’m looking for and pay a consultation fee. Once they find the car I just go in and sign? You kidding me? Perfection!!
With the electricity thing Eskom uses an increasing block charge. For the first block (600 kWh) they charge a set price( e.g., R1.50 per kWh) for the next block (600 kWh) the price is higher (e.g., R2.00). If you bought 500 kWh at the beginning of the month and you want to top up middle of the month buy just the 100 kWh left over. If you buy more Eskom will charge you the higher price for all of Units. I explained this badly but hopefully it makes sense. Also the numbers are just for example purposes not what is really charged.
Good advice-the system is called IBT ( Incline Block Tariff), basically is a way of punishing for higher electricity consumption. Is supposed to favour the poor but is not simply because Mzansi people are wasteful in general. From next year April, The IBT Will fallout & Homeflex will be implemented. A tariff based on Time of use.Homeflex give users the opportunity to be efficient, in simple terms. Yes, electricity will never be cheap again, that’s what Musa is saying. Great work Musa❤
@@thusomahlatji6268 Put simply, Homeflex is based on time of use(TOU), with three type of electricity tarrifs,1. Off-peak ( lowest),standard tariff,& peak tariffs( most expensive & only applicable during weekdays, except for holidays) For instance, if u are going to run your geyser during peak hours(17:00-21:00), you will pay for that consumption at peak tariff as compared to Off-peak like between 21:00-05:00. This applies to week days, as weekend there are no peak tariffs.Added to this consumption tariffs, you are goi g to pay fixed amount for using the infrastructure, let’s call it connection fee. U can do nothing about fixed charges but u can do a lot ( optimise)about consumption to reduce bills. Bottom line, electricity will never be cheap again
If u buy electricity of R600 you fall from the 3rd block not first block. The higher the amount the lesser the units. First block start with (0-50) rand.
Just negotiated with my dealer, 10k assistance, free delivery. Shopped around for insurance and got a premium of R1700( incl. credit shortfall with 5k access. My license is only 2 months old. This is all thanks to Muzi 🙏🏽
Big up Muzi! About 2 weeks I've subscribed to your channel and a happy follower. Your car advices are so great and informative 👏 And I enjoy your content every time I watch. Great channel overall 👍🏾👍🏾
Aye I went car shopping today and I got the shock of my life when I found out that the prices on auto trader from the same dealership aren’t the same prices in-house 😢
“Thato, Lindokuhle and Tshepo” 😂😂😂. Not “I’m not Kwesta” 🤣 I definitely love the honesty in your videos Muzi. I wish I came across your channel earlier. Research, research and research Thank you for stressing how important it is.
Thank you so much for the info Muzi, after calculating my salary times 0,2 I am so disappointed that the car that I want is not my price range, I guess will have to look at abo Picachu ☺️
True Sbale, also remember that people after buying cars they strengthen them, use muthi, to protect that car then wena you come and buy it as a repossed. You will cry real tears
Why am I catching strays Muzi? It’s like you know I’m close to settling for pap and eggs cause my old Jeep is giving me issues and that Polo tsi with a few extras is giving me sleepless nights😂. But I won’t disappoint you my leader😅
I recently let go of my Mazda Cx5, traded it in and got a smaller, cheaper car. This is guy is something else 😂😂😂 I bought the cause I afforded it without factoring in the insurance and petrol, basically the maintenance. So all my money was going to accommodation and petrol. No money left for investing. So now, I invested and driving a fuel efficient car.
Hi Muzi great content as always. You right makgowa a gafa🤭. You correct again about brand loyalty and snob badges it's not worth guts. For me firstly don't use emotions when buying a car you cant afford, it's not an investment and dealers don't have your interest at heart you just another number. A lot of new car buyers don't think that the monthly amount you pay say R8000 you wont have it, for the whole term of contract, and its likely to increase due to fuel hike and higher interest rates. So do proper home work.
Watching your videos as I negotiate my monthly instalments on a VW Polo TSI DSG 2022. They initially quoted me R7000 and I refused, they’re currently working on a new plan.
Love your Video, but what about people who just started working, people earning between 10-15k, should they go for second hand cars or should they avoid cars completely, i feel like this videos is aimed at the middle class only. In your future releases, we would like to see you giving us advise on second hand cars, servicing and insuring of these second hand cars.
But he did advise and say a car should cost you about 20% of your salary. He also said you must know how much you are willing to spend. On the first video about car buying mistakes he said it's sometimes not worth it to save on a car and buy things like Kwid, a taxi can be a better option. I don't think that kind of advise is limited to middle class only You must assess if certain expenses are really worth it. Sometimes financial freedom should be prioritised over possessing things like cars. This guy has a video about downsizing, for some people that's a taxi They always say before buying something like a car or house, put money equivalent to the instalment away for a year and see if you can survive. If you don't touch that money and you life is fine then you are good to go. You can use the money you saved to lower your installment at some point, to build your emergency fund or clear small debt like clothing accounts and you focus on just your car
@@thatolekolwane8162 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Nami sengamane kuthiwe angidli... I cant drive a car that doesint motivate me just for the sake of savings...singafa nominini.
@@LeoTechy Bro nami phela I won't be buying a car and pay it off within a year then afford to buy another one. So I will make sure in that 6 years ngi happy with my purchase😂
Buying from auctions is like helping witches to commit witchcraft. Let those evil people keep their cars. But people are foolish because the love cheap stuff.
Muzi, thank you brother, Im not even close to owning a car as yet but i'm always tuned in to your videos, amazing stuff bhuti..... also, is this by Hazyview?
Dealerships wanna reap as off I've been looking at 2016 & 2017 1.8 Polo gti, most of these cars have done 90k km and over but they are priced over 300k.. That's too much.
