I tell them how much I can afford (normally a 'sob' story about me being retired, etc.). Last time I 'only had' R50 000. The dealer immediately brought their 30000km Haval H1 price down (I had to explain to them it was an old model, discontinued, and therefore not worth much ...), they increased the trade in on my 130000km Picanto, and I paid them the R50 000. Deal done. YOU are in charge of the deal - YOU are the one with the money - not THEM.
This just happened to my friend. We were looking to buy Mazda 3 Astina, initially they offered an interest of 16%, but we negotiated and they said they would communicate with the bank - came back with 13.5% interest, and we were so happy. When we got to the dealership for a test drive and potentially sign the contract, the quote had R226 280 balloon from the R565 700 cash price, some extras of which were advertised as standard for Astina, 73 months instead of the 72 as agreed, and some ridiculous traffic fees/charges. The difference should obviously be around R350k yet the Installment was sitting at R10k. We walked away. Later sent them a long email questioning the quote, but till today nobody answered our email.

Took ur advice Went to a dealership tdy, i told the guy that I’m looking for an R-line DSG 2021 polo and he pointed a 2019 polo r-line 😢 with no price saying it’s a 2021 polo. He just told me that it’s going for 350 000. Indeed u need to know the kinda car u looking for
Great video Muzi. One other thing that I think people should know, it's the features that partucular model comes with. I am saying this because I recently bought a POLO life tsi but a base model. I noticed that it doesn't have rear speakers only front, twitters and sub, which is something strange.
Great advice Muzi, this is a good all encompassing video on car buying. Couple things though: 1. Whats your beef with the new Swift Design? Its not as adventurous as the 2017 design but the Swift is a car that doesnt change much. Im just glad its getting rear door handles below the belt line again. The engine is another matter but time will tell, looking forward to the Sport though. 2. What is your beef with the Spresso safety wise? Its not the one that got zero stars on Gnacap btw( which rightly deserved that score because it had no airbags). The export models while they dont have the bells and whistles like the home market(no DRL's for instance) they ensure they pass muster safety wise. 3. The Rumion, like all of the twins gets shortchanged spec wise because Toyota SA knows people will buy it just because of the badge in droves, just look at the previous Starletversus the Baleno which was a better car all round but more people opted for the Starlet.

Love the videos and quick suggestion, please can you do a video about fake logbook and registration documents and how to check the ownership of vehicles because a relative of mine bought a 2019 Golf 7.5 GTI and he didnt know the logbook was fake and weeks later he's car was repossessed by the bank because the car was still under finance and now he cant get a hold of the guy who sold him the car ... The out dated models are becoming more and more affordable again, also the latest and greatest also come with risks, new tech, new problems, new solutions. Old model, old problems, has solutions and driven by many so you have a better idea of what you get for your money.

May you please do a clip on how people not fall in a trap of buying substandard tires, especially from dealers that don't have tread enforce. Hope I got the spelling right. Bought 4 tires, two were substandard from a big company, had to go to another company to find out what was the problem, treads of the tires were not 100% in contact with the surface, hence the bouncing effect.
