garage man was going to order central locking gadgets saying that is the issue. just check this video and fix it myself in front of that man. ohh my god. you save me a lot. thank you brother
just sharing my experience following these steps didnt fix my door issue in the first place, i tried it multiple times, turning it all the ways, pushing a bit more, etc but no luck. Eventually what helped me was to just stress test the lock. I rolled down the window and started locking and unlocking my car from the keyfob, then from the inside central locking system, then trying to open and close that door after those multiple scenarios (e.g. outside, lock, unlock, try to open - no luck. then inside lock, unlock, open from inside - works, get outside, lock, unlock - doesnt work etc). Eventually it kind of just fixed itself. I remember that at some point i was able to lock the car and unlock it from the keyfob and the door started opening from the outside a 100% of the time, also, now when i lock the car and stand next to that door i can hear the locking mechanism to have a more "juicy" sound(like full mechanism is working), previously it was like half of that sound. I was worried that it might be a temporary fix and that the issue would come after a day/week/month but it's been 2 months already, the door is working fine and i hope by writing this im not breaking my karma :D at the end of the day im not sure what exactly fixed my particular issue, was that the combination of this video advice and my fiddling with locking/unlocking, or just the latter, but if it's gonna help at least one person, it's already gonna be worth it
I had this problem what I bought an A5. In the infotainment system I went to Car Settings, Central Locking, “Central locking opens all doors”. That fixed it for me.
for me it didn't work the first few times, then I changed position back and forth several times, almost trying to shake it. It finally worked. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I am subscribing to your channel right now. 👍👍
I’ve got an a6 c6 model and the same thing is happening I have tried what you have said however where are the fuses located for this I wouldn’t know where to start any help would be much appreciated
Hi, i have a 2008 Audi A5 3.0 Quattro. The outside door handke has no tension when you pull it to open from the outside. I have already changed the door lock actuator and tried what is in tgis video but still nothing. It dies open from the inside. Im wondering if its the smaller bowden cable that goes to the exterior handle or if i need a new handle or whole door handle set. Any advice?
So I have this issue with my passenger side door and I always have to turn the actuator manually. Very rarely it will work properly but normally it has this issue. I have tools to remove the panel but would like to know where I could get a replacement part from and so on.
On my A4 B8 the passenger door will not open from outside with the remote in cold weather. During the hot summer months it works fine. I have been told that the grease in the actuator cable gets hard in cold weather preventing it from sliding smoothing which is the issue. I bought a new cable but have not got round to fitting it yet.
I just brought a used A4. It has lived in a warmer climate all it’s life. Now I have it down the bottom of New Zealand and the doors won’t unlock with the remote. I suspect it’s the cold that causing it. Will pull apart and inspect, perhaps re grease things.
I just got an a4 and it’s my drivers side that’s not opening from the outside. The rubber seal had something different behind it that I can’t turn like the passenger side?
Remove door card and check for loose connection however you’ll possibly need a new locking these can be found in scrapyards or on eBay for a cheap price
i was having this issue on both of my doors and i found out about the thing you were showing here and it fixed the passenger door but on my driver side door there is a whole being covered by the plastic piece but behind that there is no key size insert like the other side. don’t know if you know why or can recommend me to do anything.
In this situation I would advice remove the door card and check internals as it’s known the conning that the lock actuator goes bad that may need replacing however you can buy used ones from eBay and scrapyards
Hi mate, Quick note , i got an audi a4b8 , passenger left and side door won't open either inside or out side.... what should I do to be able to open for a replacing the latch
Try tap the door see if it’s jammed if no luck then you have to unscrew the top of the door card from inside once you done that you need to then need to carefully pop as much of it off will help if seat pushed as far back use the gap to manually open the door from inside the door card the door card will get a link however this will come out when you screw it all back together once door is opened manually
Hello mate, quick question. Do you know where to find that piece of rubber on amazon, ebay, etc?. I have this exact problem, but for some reason i do not have the rubber, so the lock isn't holding in place.
This happens to me when the weather is very cold. I can't open the driver's door from outside. When the temperature rises or I drive the car for a while, it fixes itself. I did not raise it as a problem yet. I also get parking system fault very similarly when it's cold outside. Again it fixes itself when the temperature rises.
Tonga - I have the exact same issue. When very cold the drivers door won’t open and I get parking brake fault. To my annoyance I have to climb in the passenger side and ignore the fault. When I get back in the car later in the day and I the temperature has raised both problems have gone. (AudiA6 2019)
Hi there I’ve got a Audi Q5 2010 I have exactly the same problem as in your video I can lock the door and it will open in warm weather but come winter the drivers door won’t open all the time from outside very frustrating I have pulled the rubber grommet off you show in your video but underneath it’s just a plain white plastic disc with nothing to adjust it no slot to turn it not like yours in the video any advice you can give would be much appreciated
I’d recommend take the door card of and visually inspect the internals for damage corrosion or even hairline crack in plastic components these can all affect that and change the part that is at fault possibly the lock actuator
Hello mate, got 2 door Audi A5 2009. Both doors locked. Tried pouring hot water assuming lock was frozen but it permanently turned driver side parking lights on. Battery just died after 2 days and doors still locked. Any help or guidance will be great. Thanks
I have passat 2010. The issue is that passenger side door is not opening from outside but its opening from inside. Please suggest me what should I do. Thanks
I've got the same problem with my 2011 Jetta, except it's my driver side door. It's been a few years now and either crawling in from the passenger side, or reaching the interior handle from the backseat is getting reeeeeeeally old! 🙏 Please tell me you found out how to fix it. And if you have, please share it with me. It's been so long since I've been able to just open the door, sit down, and drive away like normal people do... HELP ME! 😉
hi got a problem with the drivers door ,,it wont open from the outside but works fine from the inside and the central locking all works fine passat b6 08 plate any help
Remove the door car and have a look at internals there’s a metal wire connecting the exterior handle to the locking mechanism that may have come out of place or broke
@@carhelpforyou5650 tryed to get in the door ..took of the panel and tryed to get the metal plate out but carnt took the bolts out but it wouldnt budge
@@billpett6581 I would recommend taking the inside panel of inspecting just make sure everything okay following that I would then check the wiring from the door to dashboard this is the wire that has a plug sticking out of door near hinges it will be coated in rubber push rubber back and check the wire as this has happened to a few Audi a3’s Hope this helps everyone
Thank you for this video. Does it work on Audi A4 B6 ? My car locks automatically when the speedometer reach 15 km/h. The driver's door is fine but the other door won't open from the outside. Have to open it twice from the inside then it will open. Any thoughts please ??
That is a feature called auto lock you can turn this off, however the door not opening would have to be checked try this method it may work if not open the door panel and examine it further
my audi Q7 2010, can not open even when i try using the key from out side. I have always used the car remote but unfortunately that too does not work. will greatly need your assistance
2004 porsche cayanne Left REAR driver side door is STUCK SHUT an will Not open an its NOT THE FUSE.... 2nd and that rear window does not go all the way down only goes half way down. HOW or what do i need to do to open the door none of the latches are working and im stuck what to do??? Can YOU PLEASE heLP ME ?? AND DO YOU HAVE A VIDEO OF THIS hOPEFULLY ON WHAT AN HOW TOO? FIX THIS
Hi i have audi a3 8p passenger side door not opening in side or out side if leve for 1day I'll open by self am not sure what happening i try it has you showed on your video still problem Tell me more details please many Thx
hi, I just removed the rubber bit but mine does not have something underneath it with a slot in it just a complete circle thing. my car is an audi s5 2011 cabriolet. its the first time it just happened to me today. any ideas? thanks
If you can put window down see if there’s anyway to open from inside the window gap if not then trim panel would need to be removed which is extremely hard when door is closed but remove enough to get your hand on the mechanism to open the door and then investigate further
I dont know how it happend but , my passenger door and rear door wont open from outside when i open manualy from inside they do open normaly , but after i lock with key they wont open again , im thinking it might be a electroc problem since they do open after i open from inside . But i dont know which fuses to check . My audi is a6 c6 2007 2.7 fwd . I did the thing you show in video but still a problem
I would suggest remove the door cards and check inside the door if the handle lock mechanism isn’t fine it may be damaged and need replacing also check the wire loom as it may have Broken wires
I have the same problem Jetta 2014. It happened after the French nt door froze from cold I tried pull it hard then something happened. I open the cap that screwdriver is not there. I noticed when I slightly pull the internal handle but not actually open the door after locking and unlocking, I hear a click then I can open the door from the outside.
You may have to remove the door trim panel so see inside the door the mechanism itself may have gone bad, the trim (door card) is held on with a few screws and clips. Once removing you would need to examine the lock mechanism to see if it opens and closes correctly, if you find nothing loose or damaged you may have to remove and replace the mechanism.
Hello! So, I'm having this issue only on the driver's side. But the driver's side doesn't have that same thing to turn under the rubber grommet. Do you know what I can do to fix? Thanks!
How would i go about unlocking the door if the door actuator has failed on me and the door handles dont work? Cant go through the door card as the door needs to be open to take the torx screws out of the bottom....
@@jorgevargas2759 I took it to an Audi dealership and they managed to do it, went to a backstreet garage and they said the only way would be to cause some damage...really didn't fancy having a broken/ butchered door card😂 but all in all I think Audi charged me roughly £430 to fix it
@@jorgevargas2759 if it is intermittent, I would say catch it as the parts can be found on ebay....door actuator is around £24 and the bowden cable if that has snapped is around £18...
@@X055_s5 the issue was intermittent, unfortunately I did not fix it in time. Now it is literally stacked. It’s been like that for more than 10 days now.
Hi i did this and it worked for a week but gave up again ive tried pulling inner and outer handle at the s as me time it wotked like twice after, my n/s front and o/s rear door are playing up im guessing there is no connection between these 2, can you think of anything else it could be please before i strip it, thanks in advance
@@MrP-xb8op the internals can be removed and cleaned however how long they would work for is anyone’s guess would recommend replacing as that way you know they going to work however check eBay as unless your wanting oem parts eBay does do a very good quality of aftermarket parts
I have a 2009 a4 2.0 and the drivers door is not opening with the remote. Have to use the key to open . The right rear door is not opening from the outside but opens from the inside please help.
Hi there I have an audi a3 1.9 tdi 55 reg. My driver side window is not working at all. Plus both the passenger side as well as driver side rear doors won't lock with central locking. I have checked the wiring coming through the body of the car attached to the driver side door but they all look fine. What can i do
Hi, window may be a faulty regulator, If you have checked wiring visually next would be to check if the doors are getting power and if the actuators are actually faulty or not.
@carhelpforyou5650 thnkx for the reply. I personally think its the window regulator as according to heinze manual it control the central locking too. Is the window regulator that white thing right under the switches
@@mumtazzafar5696 no problem, the window regulator will be a frame holding the window itself on and have a motor connected to it, If you type your year of car on Google and go a quick search for a regulator you’ll pop up a picture of, we have a video of a regulator on a Audi a5 we replaced sadly not one for a Audi a3
@carhelpforyou5650 thnx ill have a look. I saw a video few days ago about golf tdi. This guy pulled the front part of the motor out disconnecting the wire plugs and put the new one on and his driver window started to work.
@@ismailbadrm9698 hi mate, with your remote, hold the open button until the windows come down. That did the trick for some reason. So when the door was opened I changed the lock actuator.
Would this work for my 2020 Honda Civic Sedan the driver side door won't open from the outside but all other doors open. I can only open my door from inside and usually when I press the unlock button my headlights turn on too but nope now they don't, I think it has something to do w the driver side door also the beep when it locks is getting quieter
Got a 07 VW golf, passenger door does not open after unlocking the car. It will sometimes open but then after locking the car that door will not get locked! Very bizarre. Wondering if anyone had any ideas. Thanks.
Remove the door card check for damaged wires, had a A3 with a damaged wire would only work when wire in certain position wire can be repaired, also check for other damages inside the door
My door has done the same issue but it's the drivers side. So I did what u said unfortunately there's nothing like that on mine. Looks like the door handle has lost its spring as the door handle doesn't go back to original position. Any help from anyone woukd be great 👍
@@carhelpforyou5650 basically it sorted itself. Very weird 😕 I think the cable must be getting stuck and not returning so I lubricated the door handles to see of this helps
Problem with mine is that only driver door is not opening when i unlock the doors. And i checked all the fuses. No fuses blown. Then i checked this trick and the driver door does not have a rotating thing inside. All the other doors does have one. Dricer side door has only a while flat plastic thing inside that does not rotate. Might be a faulty motor inside the locking / unlocking mechanism? Strange thing is that about half an year ago it was not working but somehow it worked last couple of months and now its not working anymore. Did not do anything to fix it.
You may have to remove the door card and inspect the internals, I’ve got a Audi a7 booked in a 3 weeks time for a door replacement so if you comment on the page around that time I’ll make a video regarding that for you
@@carhelpforyou5650 ok. It opens from inside but literally lastnight I drove it to philly parked up and came back out and it wouldn’t let me open from outside all of a sudden. When I pull on it the window still goes down a tad bit as if the door is really being opened.
Sound like your cable has come off or snapped you need to remove door car and there should be a black wire with a hook like end that needs to be clipped back into the handle on the door card or be replaced if damaged
@@carhelpforyou5650 that's the problem I can't open the Pannal my self I was hoping if u could advice me, because audi garage gave me very high price to diagnosis the issue..
Hi, my a3 passenger side doors won’t unlock and neither will the drivers rear passenger door. I did this and the first time it worked on the drivers side rear door, but now back to being faulty again. Please help. X
Seems like a electrical issue check if the doors are wired correctly to the car if they are you need to check the central locking inside the doors as they are known to fail and may need replacing
@@carhelpforyou5650 Thanks for the reply. All doors were working up until about a week ago. Which started with the front passenger door not unlocking, then moved to rear drivers side and now all 3. 🙈. They make the sound as though unlocking, but don’t actually do it. Literally only the drivers door that I can lock and unlock with the fob. X
@@dianestanbrook130 very high chance it’s the central locking in the doors that needs changing these can be bought from a scrap yard as long as they know it works etc but before buying remove the door cards and do the checks needed I.e broken wires anything loose etc
