Twin Fantasy outtake. Originally on the Spiritual Advice in the Vacuum compilation, released in 2011. Parts of the song would later be used on Romantic Theory, from his 2012 album Monomania.
@@everygrillindude5317 well, i couldn't find any specific information about this compilation on the internet. i guess Will was probably asked to make a song for it, idk. it's just what many musicians do.
this version captures something so much more haunting than romantic theory. there's a layer of depth/nuance not present in romantic theory (as much as i enjoy both). favorite era.
Because this one is made as a closure and romathic theory works better as an Monomania's opener. I see why Will didn't include this one in TF because it would really downplay Those Boys' function as the actual closure, with it's much ambiguous message.
i didn't like you anyways you always left the door open i had to go back you let all the bugs in i didn't like you anyways i had a small case of frostbite i had to go to the doctor i won't go for you i won't go for you i won't go for you i won't go for you ooh, soon as i get gone ooh, i'll gauze up your tongue wake up wake up wake up and you were a ghost to everyone i had to walk behind you and explain your situation to everyone you spoke to i hid when the doorbell rang this house is going to pieces my hands are going see-through i'm at risk for unimportant and when the doctor came he took a look around and scaled the park outside his footwork not on the jagged wood and what did our children say he threatened to take his eyes out there was a worm in his stomach nothing he did could fix it he gradually slowly saw the patient i didn't like you anyways i had a small case of frostbite i had to go to the doctor for you, for you for you, the mayor for you, the mayor for you, the mayor for you, the mayor ooh ooh go back to radio! go back to radio! go back to radio! go back to radio!
the brief but melancholic sounding guitars that come in throughout (an example being 1:51 and 3:21) really makes the song for me. i prefer this version over romantic theory way more.
Feels more like My Back is Killing Me Baby plus Monomania, twin fantasy has a very specific sound that Monomania vaguely shares, but the lyrics of this one are way more akin to those found in older albums like MBiKMB
he thought taking a promo photo to sell tshirts with himself wearing his own band's tshirt was uncool, so he chose to look as uncool as possible while doing it. I am the person who took this photo.
