Car Wash Mode in a Tesla Model 3 at an Automatic Car Wash | My Experience

From my experience, using car wash mode in my tesla model 3 has been a confusing experience. Usually I have issues engaging and disengaging roll mode. Now I just pop the tesla into neutral! Here is my experience taking my tesla model 3 to an automatic car wash.

For the free roll you just hold the brake. So pull up in carwash mode hit the brake when you're in place and press free roll mode.

You know I've tried that but then the tracks drag the car... did you have that issue?

I have the same issue with the free roll not enabling correctly. I have not tried to shift into neutral manually though.

Yeah that is what I thought also. I don't know why that is so hard for this guy. Doing it from the gear shift is much harder to get it in neutral.

Lando/Grace - where did you get the Shanghai/Berlin door wood trim? Far as I can see you're in Maryland...I have always liked, seems like the flow into the wood on dash makes cockpit more balanced/symetrical....

I just washed my model Y on February 11th, 2022. I hit the car icon, the service button, then the car wash mode button, then "enter car wash mode" It didn't want to go into free roll mode and popped up a message to hold the gear shift to the first detent for 3 seconds to go into neutral. I did that and it did, then washed fine. Then when the wash was done it didn't want do go back into drive. I had to hit "exit car wash mode" button then I could select drive. I wonder why they changed it.

The whole process is kind of wonky. Lots of required stops to shift into different gears. Always stresses me out at the automatic car wash because they are in a hurry

I noticed you saying that you live in a condo and cannot charge. Do you use a supercharger to charge your tesla? If so how often and did you notice a deterioration in the battery?

I started out using super chargers exclusively. Now I use free chargers in the area and at work!
