Am binge watching, have been experimenting with different container growing, as am helping a family member who has a disability and a very small area to grow vegetables.

I so love your videos. I have M.E and days where I'm suffering a crash (post-exertional malaise, which feels like 'flu with a hangover), your gentle voice and lovely Northern accent is soothing to my frayed nervous system.

I never understand anyone who says buying plugs/plants later in the season is "cheating". You still have to look after them and give them the right conditions to thrive.

Great selection of plants. Cherry toms do well outside in the uk. Those planters that tie onto the balustrade are wonderful. Perfect use of space. I wish you every success with arranging & most importantly harvesting your veg 🤩

I bought those propagators ,they are really good but remember to put holes in the bottom ,as they don`t come with the holes done x

Fabulous that you're already getting so organised Ivan. Our priority would have been checking out the opening hours of the local pub 😅😅😅Then the garden planning of course 😮 When we moved T'up North it took some time for us to get used to the change in weather conditions and how it influenced what we were able to grow. Soil conditions were an issue for us but we soon adjusted to it. You won't have that problem in those fantastic containers. Excited to see how things grow where you are. Another great video Ivan. Ivan this is me and my husbands next dream -a static! You may not remember but I posted that we live in rented accommodation but it is owned by a long standing estate where some people have been born and died (in there 80s and 90s)in the same property. We are very fortunate but unfortunately the rent keeps going up 😢 The only thing that concerns us is: 1. Do you have to be out the van for so many weeks of the year and 2. Does the van have to be replaced for a “newer” one in years to come. Love your channel and big hugs for your new way of life ❤

I too grew chillis last year and got a very good harvest. However, like you, I don’t eat them much but wanted to see if I could grow them. I gave them away & used my usual dried crushed peppers when needed. I also grew celery which I don’t like either. Am I mad ??

I got these balcony pots and have herbs in them but i might try tomatoes too, tumbling tom siunds ideal for them

I’m sure you can put out a little stand for your neighbours offering any produce you don’t want, like the chili peppers. Maybe they can bring you some cookies or pie as a thank you! 😄

I’ve grown billions of peas for some unknown reason. Planted a load out with support but still got hundreds left with nowhere to put them 😂 say every year not to grow too many

They are a good price the 15" containers.chillie plants I love but forgot - must get onto that id like to see the tier setup w carrots .... will wait patiently Wow those balcony fence pots are amazing

Ivan, please can you tell me what variety of bean seeds you bought? I have a spare 30 litre container so I thought I would try dwarf French beans for the first time.

Those balcony planters look like just what you need for the tomatoes. You've got a lot of work to do to get all those plants and seeds growing for the season. A great start for a new home.

Thanks Ivan, it's all looking great, the handrail pots look really good, I believe that the "basket of fire" chillies could be kept on a window sill as they look quite ornamental as well as a "cut and come again" chilli. I got kicked off my allotment cos someone had their eye on it. Had three greenhouses massive poly tunnel is what they were after. Anyway fast forward took all what I needed gave loads sold loads now back home . I grow only what we will eat and I grow vertically. Amazon do some great ladder planters not too expensive. Got some planters on the fences like yours. Are you allowed to have the pots around because some site don’t do . I wish you well on your new journey 👍

Hope your shopping spree was fun...I have some of those "rail jumper" pots as we call them in a few sizes. Always fun to add a trailing flower in the small ones in between the bigger ones for color or small lavender plants for our pollinators.. Love having the lavender smell come through the windows during the season.. I do have to watch the need for water with the smaller ones but good excuse to keep an eye on things. Well done!!

Great video 😊 and loved to hear you and Mrs Ivan have so many plans for your food garden. Are you allowed to have a greenhouse? I have an old polycarbon greenhouse nearly 15 years old that is starting to see better days now but I still use it. Last year I had a good look around and always trying to make money stretch as far as we can and having to keep up with the stealth taxes they like to call cost of living increases I purchased a Bramble - Walk In Compact Greenhouse, 6 Tier Shelves with Easy No Tool Assembly Frames and Clear PVC Cover for Small Garden Growing Plants - H195cm x W143cm x D73cm £45.00. What a little beauty ❤ it has turned out to be. So far it has stood the test of the months of high driving winds and months of rain... I purchased a thick winter fleece cover for it that is designed to fit the plastic house because i have rather large cactus plants in pots that i stored in it over winter and the cover gave great protection and is washable. Started my seeds early (i always do) and this little plastic house has served us as good as our greenhouse, everything germinated. My hubby put some broken patio patio slabs on the bottom shelves to give the plastic frame stability. The runnerbeans, peas, cucumbers, peppers and toms have grown lovely along with garden flower seeds. The beans are ready for taking to our allotment, so the little plastic house will now become a summer home to my pepper plants 😊. It is truly value for money. ❤ to you and Mrs Ivor and i look forward to your next video.
