🔺Today's Topic:
It wasn’t until I started seeing clips of these pink ceramic bits that I started to feel safe with my efiling, and that with any material of bits that I used.
There is a place for every material type of efile bit (ebit), but in today’s video I want to focus on explaining the differences between carbides and ceramics to help you decide which is best for gel nails. There is actually room for both.
Carbide vs ceramic…
Personally the pros for using ceramics significantly outweigh the cons for me as a specialized soft gel stylist.
I often use and teach my students to use both as specialized soft gel stylists.
We use a carbide to remove the bulk quickly and then transition to a fine or even extra-fine ceramic to flush the product as flat to the natural nail, and because that bit is ceramic we alleviate any panic of touching the natural nail with the bit.
When you’re ready hit play!

Very informative video! There just isn't a lot of information on when or where to use different bits. Especially for those of us who are self taught. I have been doing my own acrylic nails for almost 3 years and while I've learned to be efficient with my e-file. I still didn't know the difference between carbide and ceramic. I just recently learned that carbide bits had a much shorter life span than I thought 😅. Makes sense that removals are taking longer these days lol. Thank you for this much needed information.❤

Some people don’t realize how essential it is to do a efiling class. I have been into nails for years and dabbled on using an efile for products removal after watching RU-vid videos. Never knew how much I needed to take your class and how it has helped me tremendously. I practiced all the steps of the EEM class on myself before practicing with my sister nails. I gave my poor sister and myself quite a few rings of fire but not anymore. I remove the products using your technique and what a difference it has made on my removal, prep and polishing. I’m happy to share that we do not get rings on fire or heat spike and my service time has improve so much. Just wants to say a big Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us ❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you so much for the education. I wish I knew the differences between the bits before I purchased all of my metal bits. You have gained a subscriber :)

I use both carbide and ceramic for removing my gel polish! I leave a thin layer of builder gel overlay to protect my natural nails 😊

I think I want to learn to do this, is builder gel that you use a hard gel that can't be soaked off? Do you do a back fill of the builder gel rather than filing it all off and starting over with each polish change?

As a left handed tech, there’s an added layer of challenge when it comes to finding effective, good quality drill bits. Thank you so much for another wonderful video! I only work with gels and always appreciate the advice and information you share Paola 💐☺️

I don't know where to start with buying ceramic bits. Can you give some recommendations for ones that work well with hard gels?

I learned that it is best to switch bits the hard way😅.

Very informative and well explained video as always 🤍 What are the differences between cheap (from AliExpress, Temu etc) vs expensive bits (erica’s, staleks etc)? ☺️

Hi Paola, quick question, are all ceramic bits created equal?
@PaolaPonceNails
@PaolaPonceNails 9 месяцев назад
Probably not. The highest quality ones are the zirconia kind, and for non-zirconia ceramics Melodysusie and Nail Labo have good ceramics- Nail Labo makes theirs in Japan. Check out the resources in the description also.

What speed is ok for removing gel with a fine ceramic bit?

Up to max, and no less than 20k. Training and experience to work at this speed though.
