Hello, Buddy! That's right. Making carbon fiber parts takes a lot of time and devotion. And it is a difficult task. However, I want to share the knowledge I know with people. Thank you for watching.
Loving the videos so much that it’s inspired me to try it out! Could you please include the exact ingredients and amount used with each step in the description in future videos?
Hello, Buddy! The mixing ratio of epoxy resin varies depending on the manufacturer and product. I will try to add more details in the other parts. Thank you for watching.

Thank you. X5 owner, have lacked courage, now I'll try it.
Hello, Buddy! Thanks for the compliment. I'm using several methods to get rid of air bubbles. Using hot water is very simple and easy. We also use gas torch and heating gun. Thank you for watching.
Wow...real carbon fiber...not that plastic stuff.... impressed. Bet that will last. How well does it survive in a hot environment. My plastic over wood melted in Arizona...sadly it would be too difficult for me to use this method to fix my situation.
Hello, Buddy! Thank you so much!! It's okay if my channel isn't a million subscribers. I just want to share fun and information with many people. Please, Look forward to the next video. Thanks for watching.
Hi, great video! I wanted to know if theres any difference between Epoxy Gelcoat that you use and Epoxy basecoat. Or are they the same things with different names?
Loving your work buddy! Learning few tricks here and there. Gonna do one tomorrow. Hope everything goes well. Anyway, just wondering how do you clean/wash the brushes from epoxy resin & hardener? Care to share?
Hello, Buddy! The skinning of small parts is also not very different. I think trimming is an important part of skinning small parts. If I get a chance, I'll make a video. Thank you for watching.
Very good video. I want to know the brand of the resin and epoxy you're using. I want to order them and try out sometime. If you dont mind to link all the materials that you are using. Thanks
Hello, Buddy! I'm buying the materials from online shop in Korea. However, Korean online shops do not ship overseas. So I introduce you UK online shop. Maybe you can find what you want. I hope you helpful. www.easycomposites.co.uk/
I saw your video, but you only said the material you used, but not the brand so I can see if I have the same or similar in my region... can you tell me? I'll have to make one, because Chevrolet doesn't just sell the Shift Knob? Chevrolet is forcing you to sell the complete automatic transmission.
Another amazing job! I see on your video you leave the carbon fibre 'hanging' over the edges of the trim piece and then cut the excess off with a knife whereas on other videos I have seen they tuck the cloth underneath the trim piece and tape it and then cut it off with a knife or Dremel like tool. Which way is easier or better?
Hello, Buddy! I use both knives and dremel depending on the situation. I usually use knives and Dremel for those that cannot be cut with a knife. I hope you helpful.
How essential is the gel coat to your projects? Can it be skipped most of the time, or maybe use resin instead? Do you ever bake your carbon or just let it dry at room temp. Do you clear coat the parts or always use uv resin as top layer?
Hello, Buddy~ The gelcoat is very important in carbon fiber skinning. In carbon fiber skinning, It can attachment replace to epoxy resins or spray adhesives. But, The black gelcoat can cover the surface of the parts in black. If the base color of the parts is not black or darkness color, the base color may look fine after carbon fiber skinning. Also, the gelcoat is very strong. The finish of the surface uses epoxy resin topcoat or clear car spray. I think the best surface finish is the epoxy resin topcoat. Because epoxy resins make a stronger surface than clear sprays. I hope you helpful.
Você me indicaria qual pra usar no lugar dele pra que o substituísse?
Hello, Buddy! When skinning carbon fiber, it is important to scratch the surface of the plastic parts by using very rough sandpaper. The gel coat is absorbed by the strong scratches and helps to firmly attach the carbon fiber cloth.
@@ECOLAPStudio hi,I recommend that the surface needs sandblasting at least ,Because the black glue is difficult to adhere at the chrome surface。 Sanding with sandpaper does‘t achieve sufficient roughness
Hello, Buddy! I bought materials from a Korean online shop. However, Korean online shops do not ship overseas. So I'm going to show you an online shop in the UK. Maybe you can find what you want. Also, if you want skinning, I recommend 240g carbon fiber cloth. www.easycomposites.co.uk/

Hello, Buddy! A new epoxy resin should be mixed every 2-3 hours. The gear knob and the gear plate did not have many curved surfaces, so it was possible without a vacuum bag. I also wanted to make trimming easier. For parts with many curved surfaces, it is recommended to attach a carbon fiber cloth using a vacuum bag.
@@ECOLAPStudio when do i use the vacuum bag...in what step exactly ? Do you use sandpaper between every epoxy resin painting, or only first time and then just paint and paint....Happy eastern

The carbon has thousands of fibers that catch light from different angles, vinyl will never be able to reproduce that... sure you can epoxy over vinyl to get the thickness and smoothness, but the light will show the difference... and if you are going to epoxy over vinyl, why not just use carbon, you can practice with regular fiberglass to learn techniques if you feel the real carbon is too expensive. Of course you can just use carbon vinyl wrap and know that it's not real carbon.
You mix a new one every time as it starts to harden within this time, and so does the left over bit in your cup. Just mix very small amounts, so your waste doesn't become too big. Or make many parts at the same time, that also cuts down on waste :)
+Ahmed Sebaei Hello buddy!! Thank you for watching! I hope you watch other videos on the channel. And I'll make a good video so look forward to it! Thank you!!
+Ahmed Sebaei I am using a gelcoat resoltech product Epoxy resins are produced in Korea. I can tell you about the UK website because what is sold in Korea cannot be shipped overseas. Maybe you can find what you want. www.easycomposites.co.uk/
Hello, Buddy! When skinning, carbon fiber uses one layer. It is very thin and is approximately 0.3-0.5 mm thick. It's just skinning, so it doesn't care about thickness, weight, and stiffness.
Hello, Buddy! My car has installed Varis diffuser and BMW M Performance diffuser. Varis diffuser is tough design. I hope you helpful. Thank you for watching.
+Christian Perles The varis made in Taiwan. I got via Korean importer. I think you can find out on ebay or aliexpress. But I'm not sure that's quality.
Hello, Buddy! I am not a carbon fiber seller. I study carbon fiber myself and do various tests. My knowledge may not be perfect, but I would like to share my knowledge with many people.

Zzafari7 I can’t seem to get the black piece with the R,N, D, d/s off the top of the shifter. The video made it look so easy with a screwdriver but I can’t manage to pry it off. 😅
Great Videos! Apreciate that you dont use stupid music :) Another question. My BMW M2 has this raw Carbon Fiber. How do I skin this? Just step 1 after gel coat, but what about the edges? They will come lose and dont be smooth.
There are several reasons for using a black epoxy gel coat. First, it is black so you can cover the base color of the parts. If the base color is not black, you may see the base color between the carbon fibers after skinning. Second, gelcoat has a very high viscosity. Epoxy resin with low viscosity can cause epoxy resin to flow down of parts. I hope you helpful. Thank you for watching.
Hello, Buddy! The mixing ratio of the hardener varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. My gelcoat is 100: 40. But I'm using a little bit more and mixing it around at 100: 50. Epoxy gelcoats have a very slow curing time. Do not forget this. Thank you for watching
