I made a carbon transfer print from an 8x10 negative, of an old abandoned house, that I had taken back in 2003. It took me over 20 years to print this negative, but I think it was worth it!

First time I see the whole process being done without commercial tissue being used. Quite impressive but oh-so labor intensive!

Hi Andy. That are a lot of steps (and time) to get a carbon print. But this is really a beautiful print and image. Do you show these prints somewhere in your town or somehere else? Do you also make vanDijk prints? I hope to start soon with a simple salt print on suitable paper :))

Thank you, Ruud! Yes, I do exhibit but I haven't for almost 10 years. I decided to take a bit of a break from that world... I did a lot of exhibiting over in Japan. Contributed to books on the process, magazines...I'll probably start exhibiting again one day... I made a few Van Dykes many years ago, and was planning on doing some again, but Salt printing got in the way. I'll probably limit myself to Carbon, Kallitype, Salt, Cyanotype, and Tri-Colour gum.

Hi Andy. Good as always. I’m just wondering where you found this magnetic strips and what are they called? Best regards Anton.

The magnetic strips were cut from roll, that I bought from a sign making shop. The sheets are also sold on Amazon.

Hey Andy, thanks for stopping in on my video :) I was wondering: at the venting table, are you able to enjoy your coffee and get some things off your chest? Seriously though, beautiful print! Such a complicated process, it makes me wonder how on earth someone could discover it.

😆 as long as a doughnut isn't involved, otherwise I'd be in trouble! Several of these old processes, including photography as we know it today (Fox Talbot), were discovered by men with the means, and heaps of time on their hands.
