The price on these wheels is insane plus these wheels are much heavier than many North American-made options. A set of Berds are $400 cheaper and 500 grams lighter! Who would buy these?
I’d love to run a set but at pretty much $2600 for the wheelset I could never justify that cost. That being said I love seeing more sustainable products coming into the mtb world
Yep, will never at that cost, I don’t care about your ploy of being recyclable, I’ll stick to aluminum which we already know is recyclable for decades now. The prices for mountain bikes and anything related to it are getting rediculous, money grabbing companies like this aren’t helping at all. I. The end, it’s just a bike you ride down a trail, that suppose to be the fun part, stop worrying about lighter, just go ride, plenty of good products at a fraction of this cost.
Wow. Not sure this company will last with such an expensive and heavy product. Why buy this over say specialized roval control wheels for half the price, and 1lbs lighter.
"Recycle" is a marketing term and scam. No one is going to recycle broken rims. Globally, 5% of plastic is recycled. We should be burning plastics in power plants, with scrubbers.

All talks but the most important details were not mentioned. These rims are made for lightweights. There are not made for bigger riders. I am 190lb. Just retuned a set of these rims because they are hookless and the max pressure is 40psi. Min, I ride 40psi front and 42psi rear. Also the finish is not premium. American hubs? All Day!. American carbon rims-nope. It is sad to admit, but Chinese make better rims. Lighter, stiffer, better finish and reasonably priced. For $850+5.5% taxes, It should have top notch finish and it should be clincher. Who does ride a gravel bike below 40psi? MTB ok but for gravel, I need min 40psi.
It is expensive but it's not "recycled" plastic, it's just plastic (specifically a type of synthetic material combined with resin). There's nothing recycled about it.
@@flippy66 oh. I read somewhere that the filament they use to make the fibers themselves was from a recycled plastic. I know the resin process. I've done fiber glass. Either way, bike frames and rims shouldn't cost as much as they do. You can get carbon fiber hoods for cars for about a thousand dollars
@@andrewsiasparksa 1k$ carbon Fiber hood for a car does not compare to the worst carbon bike frames/rims. It’s a non structural part made for looks and bragging rights. Carbon fiber is extremely dependent on design and manufacturing just the name carbon in it doesn’t mean shit.
