Update 1: Not only did I cut the 2 straps off but I also used pliers to get the two plastic grommets out as they could cause scratching of the paint if not careful when putting the cover on or taking it off. I'm using the corvette as a daily driver so the cover will need to be removed at least once a day. However, I do not intend to put the cover on my car if the temperature is predicted to be below freezing or if a huge wind storm is predicted for any given day. I have a california duster to wipe the car down with before I put the cover on each time.

I bought one for my 69 Skylark. Paid $139. I hope it holds up in the snow and ice of NY weather. It’s the top of the line 5L like yours.

Update 2: It will make a big difference on how long the cover will last if you are taking it on and off a car 2-4 times daily. In this scenario you can expect the cover to last at least 1 year. Probably more like 1-3 years. If you are going to leave the cover on a car for longer periods of time you MAY be able to get 5 years out of it. I would predict closer to 3-4 if you're in a moderate climate (like Virginia). You never want to leave the cover on during high winds of over 25 mph.

I just bought one for a '96 Roadmaster. How is it with rain? That was one of my main features, the outdoor protection. I like the cable lock but the newer ones are super thin compared to the older cable locks I have.

Found your review recently (early 2023) and I was curious if the water repellancy held up over the last 3 years and if the elastic was still useful. I've found elastic doesn't last too long in the Texas heat.

Bought this model for my pop up trailer and it didn't even last 6 months! let all kinds of water in my trailer and now they won't replace it under their "lifetime" warranty unless I pay $95 shipping which is over half what I paid for the cover in the first place!

I live in a bad hail area and I don't have a garage or carport. I think I'll get one of these and throw a comforter on the roof/winshield/hood

I got one for my 67 impala its sprinkling lightly, cover is 1 month old ,first time in rain, IT Soaks in water and leaks through! And yes i got the gold one ..Very disapointed!!

If I bought that and leaked with that little bit of water on it send it back what is going to happed when the water lays on it for while its not looking good

Going though the same problem with this cover but the outside blue layer leaving powder..its not even a year old ...going though my first warranty replacement let's see how they do?

I just purchased the 5L cover, I found that the rain still gets thru not a lot but some does get thru, is this normal ?

I ordered the same one that you did (Gold Shield 5L). They sent me one that didn't have the rear view mirror pockets or the pocket that protects the car from getting scratched by the the cable lock system. I called 3 days ago and got a voice mail, they've never returned my call. If I don't hear back within a week I'm going to request my money back. Probably not a good idea to buy from this company. Hopefully I get my money back.

Waste of money I've had mine for two months and it's already ripped..try to warranty it but their customer service is the worst they are asking for me to pay $30 more for the life time warranty replacement why would i want to pay more money for such a crappie product. Don't be fooled.oh yeah and they are not water proof..

This is the worse car cover I’ve ever owned. It leaves white residue all over my vehicle, and I have to wipe down the vehicle everytime I remove the cover. What a pain! I purchased the cover in July 2018. I live in Southern CA. We have had winds and rain for about a month now and this cover is trash now. The entire top of cover is shredded. I would never purchase this piece of trash again.

I have owned the Gold 5L on my custom built custom painted 5LGold cover forvover a year. Buy it! It's 100% water proof. It has never scratched my show paint job or Lexan windows. Please don't cut the straps off as he did. Big no no. Buy this cover!!! Mine has been in rain storms. Mine had 0 wet anything under it. His has stitching issues if his car got wet.......again DO NOT CUT THE STRAPS OFF!

Garbage. Do not buy, great fit won't last. My cover lasted 7 months, they replaced it but i had to pay 30dollars for shipping. Now in my second one this ine lasted 8 months. Dont waste your money on this. After a few months when you take cover off your baby will be full of some white powder sand like all over. I called them for a full refund and they said thats not an optio, want to replace it but again i must pay 30 dollars for shipping. I told then thank you but no thanks.
