Also, I've tried the "force the French" game twice and both times I got really close (but was outsmarted by Kate), but it made me feel even more Machiavellian... maybe one day...

It’s so good. And fortunately it’s an “area control” game that’s relatively easy to get to the table.

I've finally received my French language copy - it's only just come out here - and I can't wait to play it. I played one game with a PnP version of the first edition over a year ago. I won't be able to get to a games night for two weeks so my only hope before then is to try it with the (teenage) kids next weekend, if I can convince them to play!
