After 10 years, this still gives me goosebumps esp. seeing these Cardinals reunite. It was the BEST FALL experience memory since I came here in St. Louis in 2002 from the Philippines.
And to think that the 2021 team is doing the same thing in September as the 2011 team did 11 game win streak to get wild card a big win streak to come from behind like 2011
Happy Anniversary. It was an awesome moment that almost everyone from the 2011 World Series came to the reunion with the exception of Albert Pujols, Lance Lynn, Tony La Russa and probably I’m forgetting a few others. La Russa is the manager of the White Sox and Lynn is playing with the White Sox and Pujols with the Dodgers so they were unable to come the reunion. Happy to see everyone back the hero David Freese. Also, I was glad to see Chris Carpenter, Matt Holiday, Allen Craig, Rafael Furcal, Jon Jay, Jake Westbrook, Jaime García, Lance Berkman, Jason Motte, Kyle Lohse, Edwin Jackson and the list goes on. In the game, Adam Wainwright pitched well and in the 8th inning O’Neill gave the lead to the Cards when he hit a 2 run home run. It was nice that the Cardinals won in this special night.
@@nicholausbell2749 ...I remember it well the night Mr Freese and not Batman was the hero ..lol Sorry I couldn't resist that pun.. But seriously that was the best WS in my life time and I'm 47
I was in attendance for games 2, 6, and 7, and it is the memory of a lifetime following a very difficult year for me personally. I still get excited watching the clips, and I still get emotional thinking about what led to me even being there. This is beautiful!
I watch the highlights of that playoffs run n it’s like I am taken back watching it live but I know what’s coming all at once. Greatest run in history of baseball.
Hearing the end of game 6 highlights is as exciting as it just happened. I recently read the LaRussa book One Last Strike again and there were also amazing things that happened in the stretch run that I had forgotten. They were down to one last strike numerous times. Born in 1953 my Cards memories start in 1960 or so and can only compare this team with the 1964 Cards. Of course, all the Cards winners I have seen were exciting.
I have to say, even as a Cubs fan, that 2011 Cardinals team was purely magical. Really fun watching that team play. Good luck to you guys again in 2022 as you chase another World Series!
Wish I could of made it down to celebrate, (legs a mess) wow 10yrs. So many great events and players who made it all happen. Every 1 was key. Definitely a wonderful year as 2006 was as well. Glad to see the boys home and to see a thriller of a game that night. A 3-2 comeback win..love you guys..jr
Gerald Laird jumping around and celebrating during the walk off of game 6 was one of the best things ever!!! He was so pumped!!! He was like a little kid....
Haha not even close... that belongs to the 04 Boston red sox who came back from 3-0 against the Yankees and went on to SWEEP the st Louis cardinals wooooooooo!!
@@thee_morpheus 😄 sweeps are boring when your team is the one getting owned, sox went on to win 8 straight playoff games after being down 3 games .. its the greatest comeback in baseball history, stay bitter about those 2 WS Ls handed to your cards
I saw a lot of these guys as Springfield (AA) Cardinals! Garcia, Jay, Carpenter, Motte (as a catcher!). Boggs, Rosenthal, and some kid named Freese. Their farm system back then was terrific.
Astros fan here, I remember watching this series and delighted the cardinals won because I hate the rangers. I was living in the dallas area at the time and all my friends were so sad and I just loved rubbing it in their faces. 😁
Great memories, for sure. Loved that run. But man they really brought it with the dad bods. And half the guys hobbled like it was their 4th knee replacement. Just a decade ago they were among the best baseball players in the world.
It's going to be 2011 all over again this fall as the 2021 St. Louis Cardinals (the GREATEST team in the league) DEMOLISH their competition in the postseason to win their TWELFTH World Series championship! #12in21
@@777pusher Even if Cap'n Jack Rafe Flaherty and Dakota Ryan Hudson don't return this autumn, the St. Louis Cardinals (the GREATEST team in the league) will EASILY win the twelfth World Series in franchise history.
Two members of the 2011 World Series champs were unable to attend because of commitments elsewhere in the league, manager Tony LaRussa (number 10, currently with the White Sox) and super-slugger Albert Pujols (number 5, currently with the Dodgers)
In 2012 I ran into David and his gf in the Sports Authority parking lot off 40/64 in Brentwood and he was definitely driving a nice car but it wasn’t that Chevy haha
The boys are on a 14 win streak. This was a dual purpose event. It was to commentate that great team, and light a fire under the current team’s ass. Let go RedBirds!!!
As an Astro fan, I'll tell ya, losing by 1 strike twice isn't easy in Dallas/Fort Worth, but being called cheaters everywhere you go in Houston also isn't easy. The Texas MLB teams have it hard right now, but I can tell your pain. :(
@@MojaveSubMatthew it would be awesome if the front office thought along those lines and went the extra mile just to remind the players of how far they could go. I'm not a fan and still got hyped just watching this
@@joseurena3640 Oh i’m not a fan of the padres either. In fact i’m a dodgers fan. I was laughing originally at the thought they might not make the playoffs, but now it’s honestly sad and I feel bad for them. Best friend is a Padres fan and it would’ve been so fun having him over to watch the playoffs. Maybe next year for them.
@@MojaveSubMatthew Nobody expected the Giants to be a top seeded contender this year. It sucks for the Padres that they were tested so hard this early into their window.
Got to know Adron somewhat when he was in Memphis. Super nice guy that often nodded, waved or talked to my wife and I after games. Few years later he showed up in a Cubs uniform, we gave him hell, he played along. Wish him luck from Memphis.
He was one of my favorites! His mad dash from first base to beat the Cubs in that final week of the season was such a crucial part of that wild card race. I got to go on the field before a game in 2012, and he came over and talked to me for a little bit and signed my shirt. He was really humble when I complimented him on his awesome postseason. I actually saw him play one more time at a minor league game in Toledo in 2018 when he was with the Iron Pigs. Loved his attitude and the way he played the game. Such a genuine and awesome dude. Will always be thankful for all the memories from that year. Say hi to him for me!!!
Freeze was lucky he didn't strike out to end the series. A perfect pitch on the outside corner even MCCARVER said the ump missed the pitch to end the series. The RANGERS were a better team
David Freese's recongition is so underwhelming here. HE HELPED THEM THE MOST AND THEY CLAPPED...I would of chanted his name. These fans probably never watched the 2011 WS. Shame on you all
