David Freese's epic World Series walk-off demands a deep rewind | 2011 Cardinals-Rangers Game 6

Against all odds, the St. Louis Cardinals qualified for the 2011 MLB postseason. Against all odds, they reached the 2011 World Series. Against all odds, they forced a 10th inning, then an 11th inning, in that World Series' sixth game. You might remember how that played out, but do you remember all the miracles and cosmic forces joining together that made it all possible?

@ethancossey600 The trivia question of the game was "How many times has World Series Game 6 ended with a home run?" McCarver said, "I remember one, working with your dad in '91. Kirby Puckett, and your dad's famous call was just "We'll see you tomorrow night." " Literal chills when the baseball gods gave Joe the green light to drop that line again just a couple hours later, and Joe crushed it into the upper deck. The perfect call.

One day here in cold Finland, I decided I'm gonna watch a full baseball game at random from RU-vid and see what it's all about. First game was some regular season game where the Giants beat the Dodgers. It wasn't a great game but still somehow attracting. I watched another one and this time I deliberately chose 2014 World Series game 7. "This is a goddamn exciting game to watch", I thought. Even though nothing that much happened in that game 7. Finally googling "greatest MLB games in history" brought me to watch Rangers-Cardinals Game 6. A grown man developed an fandom feeling from other side of Atlantic, because of a game played over 5 years ago and without any cultural roots to this game other than my own country's variant of baseball. Been a baseball-aficionado ever since.

@Jake True, but the difference with 2013 NBA Finals Game 6 is that at least the Spurs had multiple championships with the same coach to fall back on (not to mention getting revenge the next year). The Rangers and Falcons were both within centimeters of their first title, which definitely makes those two more brutal to watch.
