Nice to see Gorman come in clutch off the bench going 2-2 with 2 RBI's and a heck of a play throwing at 3rd for the double up when they needed it.

I hope if we do make the playoffs the experience from all these close, nail-biting games comes in handy. Feels like every win this year, and a bunch of losses have been one run down to the wire. Its gonna come in handy i believe personally. Love how they have turned this season around

If Gorman has that mindset that he doesn't have to hit out the park all the time he's going to be a force to be reckoned with. Nado is starting to hit up and was feeling it! I Just managed to squeeze this one in while waiting for the game I've definitely been looking forward to Noot coming back. He brings the fun and always seems to be great for the team in addition to his usual good play. Hopefully he doesn't get hurt again this season. Contreras makes it feel like we're always in a game (I'm saying that about one single position player and that's pretty big) and Noot always seems to keep the team from getting too down. Both of them make me feel a great deal better about the roster. Fantastic game despite Sonny's outing not being what one would expect. As long as a bad game by a starter isn't an automatic loss as it seemed to be last year, I'm happy. Certainly overjoyed to see that this team has some balls. I predicted top 10 Pen for our guys. They've been making me look good all season and this game was no different. Glad to see Roycroft back! Gorman needs to sit a game once in a while when he's not doing well. It can work wonders. Sometimes when a guy is in a massive slump the worst thing to do is to keep trotting him out there to go 0-4 every day. Both Nolans need to borrow some of Pallante's sports psychology books, I think. I haven't thought the Brewers were the best in the Central all year and I'm not going to start now. It's ours for the taking. Enjoy your time on the farm, Brenden.

I was jumping up and down when Contreras hit that bomb. This team is playing with some moxie. It will only get better once Noot is back. I told my wife that this character win is of a playoffs team

Hope we can get some length out of the starters the rest of this series. These extra inning games are killing the pen.

Great win, great comeback. Yes, it was the Nats and yes, the pitching match up was heavily in our favor. It was still a great win, one you could have easily just given up as a loss. Nevermind it would have been terrible if we had lost that after coming back It had everything, multiple inning scoring, great relief pitching, defense, baserunning, 9th inning tying homer.... Multiple hits from the Nolans. If our 3/4 hitters had league average OPS, we would be 15 games over .500 Not worried about Sonny. He was just missing the corners and the zone was inconsistent at best. He just can't fall behind and gets hit more when he has to come in the zone (as most pitchers do)

I would like to hear your take in the coming episodes on what the cards should or should not do as the trade deadline approaches. I know it is fun to think about potential trades and usually I would want the cards to be aggressive. However not his year. I am leaning toward being conservative. We have guys underperforming and have had injuries and still are in really good shape standings wise. A lot of talk about getting a bat. Why though? Players are coming back and there are options at AAA as well. Regarding starting pitching, we are loaded with 4,5 guys. So unless you go 1-2 then why trade? And I would not give up the moon to get that done. It’s time to be patient and see how the young talent develops. If we do anything, I think we need a reliever as our bullpen will be on fumes by season end.

Brendan, at what point do we go with benching Goldy for a bat like JD Martinez? Burleson at first with Goldy as a defensive replacement. Contreras can play first too with Pages catching against LH pitching.

I think you have to admit that this team has more mettle. Coaching or veteran help it is different and Marmol deserves credit I think.

I’m don’t know how this team keeps winning with a terrible run differential. But, hey I will take the wins. Maybe Mo will surprise us and get us some help at the trade line.
