Cardolan - Unattended Generative Modular Soundscape - 30min 

Step into the serene world of “Cardolan,” where tranquility meets exploration in an ambient sonic journey.
At the heart of “Cardolan” lies the Supamix module by Eowave, a recent addition that injects an element of unpredictability by randomizing the muting of up to six channels. This dynamic feature adds depth and variety to the composition, ensuring that no two listening experiences are alike.
Layered beneath the surface are two drones at different notes, each contributing to the intricate fabric of sound. The Cloud Terrarium and 4ms Ensemble modules, both new acquisitions, provide rich, evolving tones that form the backbone of the piece.
Rings introduces a percussive, string-like sound, its notes generated by the unclocked Marbles module. Passing through Veno Echo for delay and Mutable Instrument Beads for reverb and granular processing, this voice adds a rhythmic pulse to the composition, further enhancing its depth and complexity.
Plaits takes center stage, receiving quantized notes from Intellijel Scales. Enhanced by a pulsating envelope from Zadar, the sound takes on a mechanical, space-like quality, reminiscent of distant machinery beeping.
Sprout by Centrevillage applies heavy reverse and delay effects, further transforming the sound into something otherworldly. I came accros this module in Tokyo at the famous Five G modular shop. Seems pretty rare, worth checking it out.
All voices then pass through a low-pass filter, adding moments of tension and release controlled by Pam’s New Workout.
On the sidelines, an old microcassette from the ’90s plays from the Olympus Pearlcorder L400, adding a nostalgic layer to the composition. It’s pretty cool that there was an existing recording on that microcassette. It seems to be a man giving a professional presentation on quality control… Transformed into faux stereo by Minsc, the sound takes on a trippy, immersive quality, adding depth and texture to the overall mix.
Finally, all elements converge in the TX-6 by Teenage Engineering, where a final layer of reverb ties everything together, creating an immersive listening experience that transports listeners to distant realms of ambient tranquility.
