I've seen many professional people say that larry is going burn him out because his training is stupid. No one can deny his strength but so many people think he's taking a dangerous route.
Fouren , the argument wasn’t whether he can do it or not it was the fact that him holding the weight like that a few inches from his body cause of the rack and his position that in and of itself was impressive.
I actually can't believe he didn't have more precautions set. That kind of weight could have killed him in an instant. This is where his age shows, he needs to out grow the stupidity. Hopefully he does it before he injures himself permanently. He's too damn good to end this early. His coach must be seriously pissed.
@@jacobknowsgeorgebushdid9119How do you do the conversion? For me it's easy when it's a round number (I know that 110 lbs= 50 kg so 440 lbs= 200 kg and so on). But if it says 75 lbs, 135 lbs, etc I dont know how much it is, I need to google it
Call Mate I wouldn’t call Larry a legend. For sure he‘s a great guy and it helps Leonidas to train and share with guys like him. But so far Larry only delivered on RU-vid (in the gym). I hope Leonidas takes it slow and doesn’t just chase PR after PR. Larry summarized it really well at the end. „Save it for the plattform!“ Sure PRs get more clicks and make your dick harder and longer, but man he‘s only 24. Still enough time to work and improve and maybe stick to powerlifting and only doing the other stuff for mobility or variation in training, instead of trying to be a powerlifter / strongman / bodybuilder / armwrestler whatever at the same time.
A spotter helps move the weight if it gets stuck. Leonidas stopped him from being decapitated by a 700 pound lift, because Larry didn't seem to think side spotters were necessary for an insanely high weight that he never touched. Either way, don't get your panties in a bunch just because I made a joke.
Justin Dixon , Larry was adding nothing . Did you see the position he was in??? You must not know much about lifting. The bar was also further from him than it would be in a deadlift cause of the rack and his position making it harder to hold.
I know this late in this discussion @Ralp is correct. I actually I saw his max deadlift of 772 lbs, so yeah he was holding it, no probs. I agree with @The Boyfriend (I refuse to say the rest haha!), no way Larry was assisting he knew that guy can hold it.
The other day, you did a 600 something pound bench with two strongmen on the sides to spot. This time you do 700 lbs bench pr with only one spotter? Wtf?
@@jamessales9047 He is usually big on safety...maybe his ego was high that day and thought he could get 705...such a bad call to have only one person spot 705 lbs
Then truthfully Larry wouldn’t even attempt it because he knew this guy is pretty strong and could spot him. If it were someone like me (weak) then he wouldn’t trust me with his life 😂😂😂
That's the thing about competitive lifting. They're always trying to lift more and more massive amounts of weight verses bodybuilders who tend to focus more on the "pump" no matter the weight. Hopefully Larry doesn't seriously injure himself.
@@TalkingIsh100 that's the thing about training with no safety, it can happen to anybody, but train dumb as Larry has been lately and you will find those potential injuries sooner than later.
@@anaclaudiagarciacalderon192 ...True....safety should always come first. It's better to be the safe one that others look at funny for being to cautious verses being too one of the ppl that aren't really concerned with safety because they're too manly and end up with a bunch of injuries.
Zekaryah Child of TMH GOD I’m pretty sure anyone who watches Larry wheels understands the difference between powerlifting and bodybuilding. Thanks for sharing though.
Larry is one of the strongest men alive but he is a poor judge of height. He is three inches taller easy ! He seemed like he psyched himself out before the lift.
The german guy did a perfect job on the missing benchpress. There is a long way between guys who can spot right and be there when its going wrong. And damn he s strong too.🤩🤩🤩
Larry we all like watching your videos, you are very humble and genuinely a very good person. That said, you don't need to PR every video. It's getting annoying seeing your injury record, because we are with you in the happy times but also in the sad times, and this is getting sad to us aswell. Please, please, follow a normal routine of training, it doesn't matter if the weight increases are small, we just want to see you lift and see you happy, big hug my friend.
I think he does it for himself more, although I understand what you're saying it might also be a personal thing for him. Like when he hits a PR he feels good
40:52 max bench always in a power rack or in a bench with safety pins (best) no drama lol. Larry almost got scalped. Safety pins are better than 3 or any number of spotters.
Yeah it's mind blowing, I guess he's not used to failing so often now he's going for these large PRs. Stay safe Larry, use the correct equipment / spotters!
I bench in my power rack with the safety bars just about an inch below chest level, so if I fail, I can deflate my chest and rest the bar. Has saved me many times!
Yea. I don't get it. He's going for a monster PR, and isn't in a power rack and doesn't have two huge MF's on each side of the bar ready to grab it in case he can't finish or even worse, has a serious injury. I dread to think how this would've gone down (literally) if Larry blew out his pec like Mendelson did years ago. That could've been career ending in an instant.
Larry was honest tho about the 10kg boost it gives. You can look it up of other people using wrist wraps on his elbows like he uses it and most people say it's a 7.5~10kg boost
Man the kind of weight you guys handle is freaking insane anyway man. You are like the strongest dudes in the freaking world man!!! I don’t see what happen tho as far as how you got hurt it seemed like everything was under control to me but hopefully you recovered fully w/o any major issues man. Awesome video!!! 👍
Yeah right? Long lay off, FUCKIN' 40LB weight increase, lots of gear, and not nearly enough of a peak for his comp. Dammit man. He has all the natural gifts and I feel like this was just a huge fuck up.
I like Larry but he needs to concentrate on being the best in one thing and not being a jack of all trades type in the fitness world. I think social media and entertaining his fans is influencing his decisions, he could be the very best in powerlifting and he needs to focus on that discipline, not armwrestling, not calisthenics, not strongman, not bodybuilding or anything just powerlifting.
@@gentilewarrior I totally agree with you. He could be the best, but I feel like it's gonna take a couple more years probably. This meet prep has not gone super smoothly.
its awesome to see how positive you are towards everything, in a position you are in many would be very angry but you can take the good out of it and move on
@@itssonotover961 He only had Leonidas spotting him, that is kind of "stupid", I mean he had 705 pounds on him.. The other guy meant with his comment that he should have had 2 more spotters and/or safety bars
That’s a very stupid thing to say . I’m sure your a weak man physically and you have no idea the level of commitment it takes to do weightlifting. Maybe you should keep your negative comments to yourself .
oddtoxin yea ok. Did you know steroids make you stronger and recover much faster? He’s ok. Should be concerned about longevity. Nevertheless, you only live once🤷🏽♂️💪🏼
Such negativity for a man you don’t know personally but I would love to see you ask him in person. I would love to see you be this sarcastic in person with Larry Wheels but in sure you would keep you freakin mouth closed , ( I hate you internet tuff guys smh )
Larry my bro! Please take it easy with the crazy gym lifts! At the end of the day it's just a touch n go with wraps I know it looks crazy with the weight but you have to think of your health bro! Please don't end up like Von Moger you have so much more potential and will definitely get that 308 record! Just take it easy and follow what your coaches have planned for you! I'm sure they have your best interests at heart
He’s literally said his PRs are his money because of Instagram and stuff. It’s incredibly stupid but he’s not gonna stop until his body falls apart and he can’t do it anymore, almost like you shouldn’t make all of your living off of gym lifts and it should be a hobby.
Thanks for the upload Larry! Not watched the injury section yet I do so hope that you are alright! Regarding the rest period when you are training for strict strength gains: you need not go on how you feel e.g. your breathing; but rather based upon time, e.g. 5-15 minutes. This is due to the fact that it takes time for your cellular energy reserves to be replenished: for lactic acid to be significantly reduced; for your neuromuscular system to recover enough to have the ENERGY to perform, because if you lack the energy then you will NOT be able to innovate your muscles to work to the capacity that you require & you WILL fail which will most likely result in injury. So Larry PLEASE more intelligent training. Peace & Love!
@@scottratliff9776 idk, strength wars isn't a max lift competition. Faceless was in very good condition for all around events. He looks to be doing more bodybuilding training recently though.
