A care recipient who may have difficulty breathing may not be getting enough oxygen when at rest or lying down. This is because our breathing is more shallow when at rest than when alert and active. A lower oxygen reading when sleeping may indicate that the person would benefit from using Oxygen during the night rather than in the day time
