it is exhausting and I wish those who live with MI would take better care of themselves, eat better, not drink and do drugs .and not smoke. It is so wearing on families to have to deal with a person who makes themselves worse, does not take the medicine that helps make them stable. All we want, as a parent, is for our loved one to be independent, healthy and well. It is so hard to watch them destroy their life.
People (and NAMI) seem to forget about us the spouses of people with Mental Illness that also battle with this! The NAMI Group in my area disbanded 5 years ago due to "lack of funds". The mental health providers (usually therapists) also ignore our concerns or make us feel guilty for speaking up. The focus is always the Mentally ill person's wellbeing at the expense of ours! I have no faith anymore in the system!
Oh am sorry and also I leave with my mom early she diagnosis with schizophrenia it so hard and also I can't even talk to anyone also I can't focus on my school because I have to take care of her so times she don't even want to take the medicine...
