I haven't listened to this theme in a while, and, like many, came back to it after Matpat's goodbye video. Instantly I was transported back to when I was 15, doing yard work in my friend's backyard, listening to this and science blaster on repeat for hours on my iPod Nano Gen 4. Now I'm in my 20s and am simultaneously bopping and crying from nostalgia. Thank you, Carf, for making such an iconic theme. You're an absolute legend, and were a formative part of my teenage years that eventually made me the man I am today.
goodbye 2010s and goodbye matpat for thanking me all these years from consuming media to consuming depression from doomscrolling on tiktok and shorts too
I like how the two most looped songs in my history is Science Blaster (Game Theory) and Phase Shift (Film Theory). Good song, man. It just gives me that happy and enjoyable vibe!
Carf Darko and SpellingPhailer, the two godsends we have to thank for the bangers that are the Game Theory and Film Theory themes. I honestly hope both of you have had great careers after making these songs cause you both are honestly talented as hell.
goodbye matpat for thanking you all these years of theoring oppenheimer to one piece to the boys to barbie to dune to fast and furious to rick and morty and everything is all respect to the movies and tv shows theorizing the lore of matpat. thank you. (2011 - 2024)
The song starts out like you're having a moment, then when it goes to the start of the FT theme, it's as if you start looking at it back like a memory, then the song picks up some retro tones, which enforces this really retro vibe. Game theory "Science Blaster" and Film Theory "Phase Shift" will be the only things that will make me nostalgic for this past decade. Thanks for the amazing FT song, (and also MatPat for the whole theories that are downright amazing to listen to), for making this time nostalgic
Thanks for sharing your experience, it's very intersting to me to read/hear a personal perspective on my work, you mention things I never truly intened that way but it's great reading you do receive it the way you do :) It's always an honor to hear that my creations became part of others internal nostalgia folder
Carf Darko granted yes ft brought me here as I'm a fan of all 3 channels it honestly made me even happier to find out that this track is from an entirely different artist because it makes me want to listen to the album. :) good job man you rock! ^__^
It's great to read my crazy outcomes are someone else it's inspiration, and personally I don't even concider this my best work. Keep up the creativity!
I'm so glad I found this. Just hearing the most iconic part of the song (I'm sure you know which one), almost brings a tear to my eye of 2015 and earlier. The nostalgia... life was so much simpler back then. Thank you so so much.
Man i love this song so fuckin much. Definitely top 5 most nostalgic songs/themes of my child/teenhood. Up there with Pokémons song, Game theory ofc, Vsauce's Moon men theme by Jake Chudnow andddd Spidermans theme (all the reboots and animations included lol)
As always, good work sir. It really fits for Film Theory, which is a plus. I think it's the use of the synth (psuedo violin) feeling more orchestral, giving the feel of a film score. Keep up the excellent work!
Absolutely amazing, I love this song and sing it most of the time at the start of Film Theory. Thank you so much for making it :) I will definitely check out some more of your songs :)
As soon as I heard the film theory intro I was addicted to it and been dying to know who made it! Im so happy i found your channel! I love you music, makes me feel happy! Keep it up!
+Hikari Hanazono Thanks for your kind words Hikari! Be sure to keep an eye on the channel cause lot's of awesome things are going to happen really soon!
This is an amazing theme song. It really is the perfect song to show the history of movies. It's appropriate for this medium that has evolved so much over time. Fantastic!
+Trainer Red I agree. The longer version of the song brings out the... pattern? I don't know. But I hear some resemblance to what many classical composers (like Mozart) did with music. Starts out moderate, speeds up, slows down, then speeds up again to the end. Then again, many songs are like this.
This music what great art needs to: invokes emotional response. And it's not because I like Film Theory or have any other connection, in fact it was this MUSIC that made me initially hooked on the show. This music just makes my heart skip a beat, I get so pumped up.
:) this really makes me happy!! When I was working on the song I think I had about 7 drafts before Mat was able to steer me the right way, it ended up COMPLETELY different then the first few drafts but I'm happy with the end result.
Thanks for uploading your amazing creation and not keeping it to yourself! It saved me from having to watch 50 000 Film Theory videos just for the epic intro song!
This is the first time I've heard the full version! It's such pleasing blend of something modern-sounding and 8-bit (sorry, I know nothing about music, this is the best I can describe it lol). It's 4am for me now and this made me want to party haha
Carf it's alright man I understand completely and thanks! I'm getting all of my things set up and everything should be set up by the holiday. Yea I have a busy summer. Good luck on your road to 100,000!
my oh my film theorists this intro is really good carf good job on the intro ive been watching matpat in film theory for 6 years and he is pretty good at it
@Bodie M I would love to dude but since this song is part of my 3rd album and Newgrounds still includes the standard option to download songs from their channel it would be unfair towards those who purchased the album.
KnifeH Random as usual... But in a good way ;) How are you doing? It's a pitty that things went the way they did... Wishing you the best, wherever you are now buddy!
