Again, this is a beautiful and neat construction job, one of the very best.. Forget the nay sayers and do what YOU think is best for YOU. After all, the curtain does not hide the smell, LOL!...
@@pjf7943 - A tiny window and small battery operated fan pushing stinky air out would help or a fantastic rooftop fan would totally handle extra in/out air flow along with any moisture issues. 🦧
I actually think it is weird that someone would be bothered by the toilet location. People are so negative and will pick at anything. Good job on this trailer. It is my all time favorite. I have watched your vids many, many times.
This is absolutely AMAZING!!!! When I watched the reveal video I figured there would be lots of people freaking out over the toilet!!! Who cares what some random person thinks about YOUR camper!!! They need to get over it, it’s just you 2, you are married and using a bathroom is natural!! People just amaze me how they love to throw their opinions around when they probably have never even camped! As for its close proximity to the kitchen...close the lid before you flush! It’s not hard! Sorry about my rant...I just LOVE your camper and think you are geniuses for coming up with such an amazing floor plan in such a tiny space!!! Would LOVE to have one exactly like it, it’s been my dream for years! Your colors and style are PERFECT (imo)! Great job and take care!
Thanks so much for such a nice comment, Mollie! We appreciate your kind words and your support. It's so nice when someone really gets what we are trying to do. :)
It’s a conversion/camper, you made it for yourself and nobody else, if it works for you that’s all that matters, beautiful job and well done, I’d buy it from you and not change anything
I've been watching a lot of videos about trailer conversions during the lockdown here in Hollywood and so far yours is the nicest I've seen. Years ago before starting my now successful soap business, I fell homeless in 2009 and had to live in my Lincoln Town Car taking showers at the beach. Nights were unbearably hot and bugs tore me up; never really got any rest. After living like that, I can really appreciate what you've built here; its no doubt higher quality than any expensive camper and would of been considered a mansion to me when I had to live in my car.
Thanks so much for watching our cargo trailer conversion and for your nice comment! I'm so glad to hear that you have created a successful business after overcoming such a difficult time. Wishing you continued success.
Your conversion is one of the best out there and your bath setup is perfect. What’s the one thing everyone asks about conversions? Where’s the shower and toilet? And no holding tanks equals no holding smells and no freezing tanks. You guys have created a camping masterpiece.
Wow, this trailer is fantastic, and you can tell that you really did every thing high quality. The shower curtain fix is genius, and your countertop is to die for! My husband would actually be willing to go camping in this! The king size bed would be the sell! Thank you so much for sharing this awesome creation! Happy camping.
Congratulations on your build. You built it for you, not the public, who cares what other people think. The design, decor and color scheme is very beautiful, it even looks luxurious in there
You answered my questions, I never had a problem with the toilet placement but I love your solution. It's cute that people think that a married couple can't share a bathroom space at the same time. I could see it if you were dating but after a few years the mystery is gone. If it's really a problem I recommend Febreze "Air Lilac" MMMM.
In all my "mock ups" if you will I've had my bathroom in the v nose. Of the dozens and dozens of videos I've seen, y'all are the first to do it too and explain why it may not work with the beams. Definitely good knowledge. The camper looks absolutely stunning and flawlessly executed. Definitely jealous. Also love the simplicity of the blue tank rather than a dedicated holding tank.
Thanks! This layout just seemed to work for our needs. We got the storage we were looking for as well as the bathroom that we wanted. I would have like the toilet in a different location but it all works as is. Thanks for checking out our trailer conversion.
You two are really smart. This is a beautiful build that is very tastefully done. The decor is clean and calm, and I love the pop of natural elements. The shower curtain pivot is brilliant. So very well done.
Very clever swing arm for the shower curtain to keep the toilet out of sight *IF* you want to. One of the nicest looking conversions I've seen. Practical, simple, comfortable, and beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
your debut video of the trailer was the first time I had ever seen a cargo trailer conversion. I was really impressed. Now over a year later, I am in the mind set to begin this project for myself. This video answered a lot of questions I had about starting my project, thank you!!! Your trailer is extremely nice!!!
honestly I love the design of your trailer and have already drawn plans based on your design but since my trailer is a 7x14 i had to change things up a bit and with me wanting 3.5 ft in the back for storage I've really had to change alot and shrink the design so far I have it setup that will work with about 76 sq ft of living space and a Full sized mattress the kitchen will be only a 4 ft counter with a 15x15 undercounter sink and what ever board I cut out will be used to go back over the sink in case I need some counter space to cut or prep food, the bathroom will only be a 2ft x 2ft room so not quite as roomy I want a 3 burner gas stove but I'm still trying to find the right one might settle for a 2 burner the table will only be a 2ft x 2ft and fold down like yours I will be doing the same type of ac unit and if i need heat i will use a radiator heater, the walls and ceiling will both be insulated using reflective insulation barrier followed by foam board and any other spaces fill in with spray foam all the plywood is being replaced for thinner/lighter options but the biggest thing i want to say is thanks for your videos cause I love the design my only complaint is that I had bought a used trailer a year ago for a great price instead of listening to the sales rep and buying a new 8.5x20x7 trailer like i originally wanted but I will make this work!
Very nice! Great idea using a swing arm and L hook for the toilet/bath area. That is one beautiful trailer and rather economically done considering the 'glam' touches you have throughout.
In fact your conversion is the best one I've seen on You Tube. We are in planning phase of our conversion, haven't even bought the trailer yet, hope to save $ with used one and I'm an ACD planner so the planning phase is most important to me. LUV the king size bed, we'll probably go with the queen though and will not have a shower inside, put the toilet where your shower is. I'd love to know what brand toilet and where you got it. We'll just rely on park showers or an outdoor one we have now. LUV your sink/kitch solution. Clean up is definitely a big problem so I like the sink/faucet. THX for sharing.
Your bathroom idea is very awesome,i loved it 😍👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻I am from India and trying to diy a trailer for my handicapped mother and 9year old daughter.you know that in India when you travel there is a great problem for females to find a loo and I think it will work for me.thanks Buddy🙏
Your design and quality of build are outstanding! As far as other people's opinions are concerned, to each his own, as it only matters that you are happy with your results. I love the ingenuity of the swing arm with the curtain as it is very practical and looks very nice. Your personality shows through and it is obvious that you are very nice people! Enjoy your camper and don't let the people with negative attitudes bother you!
Your build is gorgeous and well built. You have excellent taste!! The overall effect is a build that feels cozy & comfortable like a home, yet is quite functional for camping 🏕
Too funny, as you were talking about the toilet space I thought hmmm what about a swinging arm curtain for the shower and the toilet, and then you showed yours! Genius! The way you did it is even fancier than I had imagined it. The no built-in tanks is so smart too. Such a beautiful trailer and you have such good style with the color, pattern and texture choices.
Thank you for the video. I love your trailer and my boyfriend and I for a long time now I’ve been wanting to do what you have done. And I think your easy fix with the shower curtain to cover your toilet area was genius. I think it’s funny how people have their opinions… It’s not like they’re going to be your neighbor at the campground ha ha but good job and thanks for the vid.
The swing arm solution is great! It's amazing what people online life their minds over 😆 We're just starting to look at trailers and they're so poorly constructed, and expensive. Yours is too heavy for our truck to pull but we know we might need an upgrade. If love to do this with my husband. Yours has everything I'd want, great job!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful cargo trailer with us❤️. Would love to see videos of you guys camping with the trailer. I’m trying to convince my husband of buying one. Hopefully when I show him your beautiful cargo trailer he will jump in with my plans. 😀
Thanks for checking out our cargo trailer, Doris. We share lots of videos and pictures of our camping trips on Instagram, bit.ly/2L990U0, and Facebook, bit.ly/2NrFvcx. You can follow us to see how we use our trailer.
Yes, the first video was made before we were completely done so I wanted to update the information. Thanks for checking out our cargo trailer conversion.
I saw another build where the builder put his Black & Gray tanks inside under a raised floor taking about 9” away from the 7’ height... piped drains thru the floor and vented out the top side wall ... thought this was interesting thing
Thanks for sharing. We talked about doing something like this early on in the build but decided that we didn't want to give up the space, and I didn't like the idea of a big step. If we were full-time we would have definitely done tanks.
Can’t tell you how much my husband and I appreciate your videos wish there were more on the build out but it is our inspiration and our goal getter. We are expecting our covered wagon within the week or two so excited we have no supplies gathered and lots of choices to go from but definitely your build out scores high in our charts. I could be called a copycat ☺️ Not to mention I think I played them 1 million times already over
So exciting Bee! I'm sure you will enjoying building your cargo trailer! Thanks for checking out ours. I'm so glad that it has inspired you. Best of luck with your build.
I've been watching a lot of videos to get some good ideas on how I want to set my new trailer up thank you so much for making these videos and putting up with all these boneheads that complain about something they're not even using let alone they probably don't even camp. Thank you so much again really appreciate it
A southwestern bar swing door would be super cute as an open yet private enough solution. Daryl Hannah did that with hers. It looks awesome and is really functional.
Thanks! It was really a good decision for us. We don't really need them unless we camp somewhere that doesn't have full hookups, then we just use the portable tank.
Have often thought about the same thing... why do you NEED black and grey water tanks? Why not empty directly into Portable! You guys did exactly that! Is there a chance that I could get a pic of your plumbing UNDER the trailer? I am currently in the middle of my build and appreciate some inspiration.
@@ChatfieldCourtDIY Hi there. LOVE your ideas and appreciate you sharing so much good information. We are in the planning stage of our 6 x 12 cargo trailer. We have the same ac as yours. Admire your plumbing/electrical setups. Would like pics of the install of the vents underneath!
Please let me know if you ever want to sell the trailer. I would need to buy a truck too, used in good condition. If you are interested in selling your truck. I Love your trailer! It is simplistic beauty at it's Best! Decor is classic black and white with a twist of natural texture. The blinds and butcher block kitchen counter is a prime example. Thank You for sharing, a wonderful job! Lori
Thanks Lori! We love our trailer! We actually just ordered our next trailer and will be selling Minnie very soon. Sad to see her go but happy that someone else will get to enjoy her.
You have a beautiful camper. Loved your very informative video! Well done! I am going to copy you- right down to the decoration. You have such a flair for decor. Thanks for the video
This is the most beautiful conversion ever. I am having a van converted, but will be doing the finishing work myself to save money. So, I have really been watching your videos for ideas on the paint, bedding, lights, flooring etc. I am not the most creative person so watching your beautiful build has been so helpul. I will be doing my cooking show from my van and want a beautiful backsplash like yours, but would like to have something metal, but as lovely as yours. Any ideas? My colors are basically black and white with splashes of color. Also, can you list the blue portable holding tank you use as I also do not have a grey tank for my shower. Thanks
Thanks so much for your lovely comment! Doing a cooking show from your converted van sounds awesome! As far as a backsplash, you could go with something like metal ceiling tiles. They'd be easy to clean and should be easy to install. Plus they aren't expensive. You can find different styles at Home Depot or Lowes. I also listed the portable tank in the description. Thanks for the head's up. Best of luck to you with your cooking show and van conversion!
A consideration for people looking where to put holding tanks: Using a pump for the shower or a macerator for sinks and toilet and the tanks could be above floor level in any dead space. The transportable option is great option though. Where does that blue tank store? Only thing I see wrong is stopping somewhere you can't dump. What then?
The blue tank is stored in the back of our pickup. We haven't stayed anywhere where we can't dump...yet. We are still tossing around the idea of a macerator. That is probably next on our to-do list.
@@ChatfieldCourtDIY my thinking with cargo trailer sized RVs and conversions is that a perfect solution for ALL holding tanks and plumbing should be a hybrid of portable and built in. Need a system where the water can be hooked up and the tanks are filled, and be able to take the tanks out and wheel them to the water point. Similarly for black and grey water. They're hooked to thr RV plumbing and can be dumped at the dump station through a dump valve, or disconnected from the RV plumbing and wheeled to the dump station.
Love the white color and the shower for the toilet area maybe try a roller door they are available in screen and solid material. We have the screen unit on our back door it works great!! Very nice walk thru, thanks!
The toliet questions were funny. Very creative solution. I'd be tempted to look into a composting one. The small scamp trailers have a front bathroom design. I wonder if it could be winterized. I wish I had the diy tools and skills.
Easy/cheap fix for tat A/C..install a window A/C. They are quiet, cheap and you can get them anywhere. Wow, I was shocked that you did not put in insulation. It is obvious that you thoroughly thought thru your entire build. You could still use spray foam in the walls but you will have to make a few holes here and there. Truthfully, if you do insulation, then you truly have a 4 season camper, it will be worth it! Your inside temperatures will be more stable with your window A/C and heat.
We only use the trailer for weekends away in the summer and maybe a week or two at the beach so the trailer really was built for those needs. I have no desire to camp when it's cold out. LOL We aren't huge fans of a window a/c so that was never really a point of discussion for us.
Great conversion. Your husband is quite skilled as are you with the decor. In listening to your video it sounds like it is not a possibility for holding tanks. I would like to do something like this but for going off-grid in a warm climate with solar and lithium. Do either of you have any suggestions for installing holding tanks while maintaining this layout? Thank you.
Awesome design...love the trailer and dedication. The step up (white planks) into the shower, what is that made of? Trying something very similar to your shower build.
Thanks so much! The step up into the shower is made from PVC planks, stacked on top of each other. That is topped with a marble threshold. Hope that helps.
@@ChatfieldCourtDIY yes that helps a lot. Thank you. One more question, your duct for you AC, is it custom made? Very nice idea with directing the flow using the duct. Thanks
What???? Toity privacy problems? That is really pushing the modesty syndrome. We use the toity at home routinely in front of each other, dang not like your anatomy is a secret! Wouldn't bother me at all, your solution is perfect. Doesn't everybody use a public toity with someone right in the next stall? Those posters are absurd.
We didn't work on it while we were camping, I just meant that we were working on it at home but camping in it during the build. Sorry for the confusion.
Good looking interior. What size bed is that? I am wondering how you got a bed to fit in the width of the trailer. Even a full would be too long for a 6ft wide.
Thanks! The bed is a king size. It fit perfectly because the trailer is 7' wide. We have a reveal video that talks more about it if you want to check it out. The link is in the description. Thanks again!
I lived in Utah and drove to NC to buy mine, it was half price than what they wanted in Utah ($3700 in 2018), granted it was steel and not aluminum, but my F350 diesel dually doesn’t care, lol. I do wish I would have had windows installed back then. I used mine for hauling our dirt bikes. Would love to convert it like these guys did, awesome awesome job by the way!!!!! The more I look at these, the more I am looking at a big car trailer. Still want to take the bikes out when we want to ride. I think these are so much stronger and better built than those cheap flimsy RVs. Awesome job guys!!!!!!
@@magalybarton2525 I picked up my 2021 nationcraft 7x14 used last year for $4100 but for the same trailer new you're looking at around $7k-$10k new best bet is to talk with your local trailer dealer and let them know what you want and that you prefer to buy used, I almost bought new and spent $7995 for a 7x18x7 but the sales rep told me that he had a used 7x14 coming in the next week that one of his customers was selling and the best part about it was the trailer was never registered so i am basically the only owner of the trailer in the eyes of the title
