Caring for a Newborn Baby as a C7 Quadriplegic Mom 

I think your baby and kids will enjoy the fact that everything is going slow. Or has to be slow. Especially in our fast world it is a great pleasure to see people doing things in a 'normal' natural slow way. 👍

Crying builds babies lungs. That's what my mom told me and she was a nurse for babies! Your baby is beautiful.

When we were young parents, who couldn't afford a nice cut-out bassinet like the one you now have, we put our mattress on the floor with a crib mattress right next to it. This absolutely facilitated nursing and tending to babies before woke up all the way. I used a regular front/back baby carrier when using my wheelchair, which at that time was mostly when leaving our apartment.

Hi Meg, I just found your chanel and I am binge whatching since then. I am a physical therapist from Germany, and for the last 3 years I have been working as a 24 h assistance for a C5 complete quadriplegic. Seeing your videos brings tears of joy and happiness to me. You are such an awesome mum, really, such an inspiration to everybody, not just women/ mums in wheelchairs. The Woman I Work for does not have kids, but I do admire her positivity every day, her accident almost 33years ago as a 17 year old has not stopped her from living. She got her drivers licence 10 years ago, she works part time, plays wheel chair rugby, has a boy friend ( also a C7 incomplete quadriplegic who is very independent), she enjoys hollidays abroad and so on, and does not complane. So yeah I admire you all a lot, and learn from your positivity every day, I learned what is really important in life and to be greatful for the small things and to not take anything for granted. I personally have had a very hard time growing up, losing my mom very eraly to cancer and having to deal from then on with my toxic, narcisstic and abusing father. There have been times where I could not handle it any more. 15 years ago I survived three suicide attempts, and today I am glad I did, my work as a physio and especially working for the quadriplegic Woman, who has become one of my best friends in life has helped me so much in healing and seeing and focusing on the good things in life and not the bad. I am thankful that you did this video. I am an L3-4 paraplegic and I hate when ignorant people think they know everything about a paraplegic and come up with the most Ludacris ideas of what we can and can't do.

Oh man. The struggle of getting a baby's head through the head hole of a shirt is real. I start stressing and break a sweat and also say "peek-a-boo" to lighten my mood along with the screaming baby's mood.

Congratulations on having 3 babies! Not every paralyzed person can tolerate pregnancy, but great you have 3 children!

You seem amazing 💖 i love the adapted crib and changing area. As for not doing anything unsafe i hear ya! Im a single Mum and i was so sleep deprived and exhausted with my first baby i didnt bath him for 10 days because i was so afraid to drop him on the tiles. Instead i just brought water to the bedroom and "topped and tailed" him instead x

A mother and wife have soooo many responsibilities!!! God has made awesome human beings. This mommy face even more challenges. God has equipped individuals like her with special adaptive skills. ❤️🌹

Meg you are an inspiration to all mom's every one has their days when they feel down physically and emotionally being a mom to a newborn baby can be a challenging job at the best of times . After all baby's don't come with a user manual because every baby are so unique and precious but they do share one thing that they all need their mom's love which your sweet baby girl is certainly not in any lack of .♥️

My youngest who is now 19 next week, hated hated her swing. She would hold her breath anytime we put her into anything that moved. She just started liking swings, rollercoasters and even rocking chairs. She’s leaving for her mission next month, the time goes so fast. Seeing your hubby on the rocking horse made my day.

One trick I loved with my baby was learning that onesies can be put on from the feet up. This helped me so much when my babe was little

This is really awesome. I didn't wonder about C-sections but how uncomfortable was it to be seated at the end of your pregnancy? Were you able to carry to term? I don't know if this is your case but I heard that some paralyzed people had problems with their blood pressure. I am not disabled but had eclempsia and had to deliver early.
