Diagnostic and coding interface that works with iOS & Android and lets you customize your car, enable new features, adjust advance settings and reset service inspection reminders. I've got a e87 59 plate and for some reason the side mirrors Ain't closing in when locking car. I have enabled it through the carista app as well. Is there any other way to get this working or do I have to direct to bmw to get this sorted?

Hi, Would you happen to know if Carista can access HID headlight self levelling information? My Honda S2000 used to go through a levelling test at start up, but now after having sorted an alarm problem it no longer performs the operation and I would like to get the function back. Its the only indication I have if they are working properly. Hope you can advise.

Depends on your needs. OBDeleven with PRO license can do a lot, but only in VAG cars.

I doubt they change as the car won’t know any difference if it’s run out or not. Once it’s coded into the ecu it can’t be changed back unless you plug it in

You can use carista to enable hidden menu, but it will not recode your audio amplifier.

Witaj mr-fix. Mam takie pytanko, bo z tego co widzę też masz 1 serię. Czy da radę za pomocą tego urządzenia wyłączyć system start stop ?. Wiem, że to MSA_Memory - activ. Problem w tym, że ciężko znaleźć wersję INPY obsługującą N43 - mam 120i po lifcie a jeszcze ciężej znaleźć kompatybilny NCS.

Mam teraz na testy Carly for BMW. Działa podobnie, chociaż interface w wersji polskiej nie jest dopracowany. Za niedługo pewnie wrzucę recenzję. Co do obu urządzeń, to zobacz sobie jeszcze koszt abonamentu w aplikacji. W Carista dostajesz pierwszy miesiąc pełnej funkcjonalności za darmo razem z urządzeniem, a potem wykupuje się subskrypcję.

Carista allows to change only predefined number of features. There’s no option to use custom long coding or adaptation procedures with it.

You can use OBDeleven or VCDS or any other software/hardware setup that lets you change coding/adaptation values without limitations. If you want to use OBDeleven, then you need the PRO version (standard is limited to predefined modifications - like Carista) but you don't need credits. PRO version gives unlimited access to coding/adaptation; credits are used just for the predefined procedures.

Does anyone know that if u run a diagnostic check and it has a airbag light showing on ur car, if you press reset all will it turn off the light?

It will clear the code from the airbag module and turn off the light BUT ONLY IF you fix the issue first. For example if the light was triggered by a damaged wiring for one of the airbags or disconnected plug under the seat, you need to fix that first and then reset the fault code.

This is more "customization" than "service" software. But there's a great one called BTool Expert which is designed for BMW, will work with Carista dongle (or any original ELM327 device) and can do DPF regen, battery registration and more.

OBDeleven with PRO license gives access to raw coding and adaptation values. So if something is not available yet though one-click app, you can do it "manually".

Hi @mr-fix , I have an e87 120i convertible 2008, I have selected the folding mirror and the close the windows with the lock button I saved the options but nothing change, I also have to enable the comfort access? Thanks

I don't have comfort access in my E87 and those features work OK. Check if the press and hold delay is not set to some ridiculously high value so you don't have to be pressing the button for 10 seconds before your windows start closing.

mr-fix Hi mate, I tried and didn't worked the delay was 1.5s I have reduce to 0.7s but nothing changed. The mirror didn’t folded, also I can’t close the windows by the remote and I also actived the passenger mirror to move when doing reverse but also doesn’t worked 😢😞

Can you open/close all you windows with a single press on the door window switch? For the passenger mirror to dip on reverse you need to have the adjustment switch set to drivers mirror. Check that.

Hi, I can open it with a single pressed and close and the car is running, the front mirror, bit not the small on the back. The switch is selected for the driver side, but it still does not work. Edit * I opened the cover of the mirror and my mirror doesn’t have this feature, it’s a shame :/

Phonecalls (HFP) and high quality audio streaming (A2DP) are two separate bluetooth protocols. In older car most likely only the first one is supported. But you can check out 2 of my tutorials about retrofitting bluetooth streaming in BMW and Volvo.

Osobiście tego nie testowałem, bo producent był tak miły, że wysłał mi kod na roczną subskrypcję. Ale na stronie carista.com mamy napisane "To get the free trial, just connect to your vehicle and attempt to use any paid feature in the Carista app and you'll be presented with a purchase screen with 2 options, one of which will include the offer for the free 1-month trial." Czyli trzeba spróbować użyć którejś z nieaktywnych funkcji i pojawi się możliwość rozpoczęcia darmowego miesiąca.

Dzięki za odpowiedź. Znalazłem tą instrukcję wczoraj. Jednak nie zawiera ona jednego szczegółu. By to zrobić trzeba posiadać saldo na koncie google pozwalające na zakup pełnej rocznej licencji. Kasy nie pobrało ale na koncie musiała być ;)

możliwe, że po upływie tego miesiąca zostanie automatycznie przedłużony na kolejny rok za opłatą. Warto sobie na to zwrócić uwagę jeżeli się nie zamierza przedłużać funkcji premium.

Hard to say. Depends on your needs. If you have iOS, then you must go with Carista. If you have BMW, you have to go with Carista. OBD11 is much more powerful, but also harder to use and can mess up car config if used irresponsibly. Carista is much more user-friendly but will not let you do as much. I’ll make a comparison video soon.

AFAIK if you buy the device you get free 1 month full access. After that you can (but don't have to) subscribe for all the functions.

Yes, as long as it's not low quality. Many cheap ELM327 adapters use fake chips which will not work correctly with such advanced software.

Są tam dwie funkcje. Aktywacja świateł dziennych i przypisanie które żarówki mają pełnić tę funkcję. @idontwantachannel @NoisyBadAss @Ermo77 @Piter The way I see this: With the $20 device you get 1 month free service. More than enough if you just want to customize your car (+ friends and family). If you need a year plan, then $40/year is a fair price for an app that works with that wide range of cars and can adjust that many features, constantly covering new models. And the 10$/week is an option for those with other hardware adapters (since the app works with ELM327 and other 3rd party devices) that also just wan't to adjust some features only one time. I would also prefer something cheaper (or free) but considering what it can do and how much it costs I still think that this is a great app.

@@Ermo77 because people don't need to get paid? 40k barely covers one persons salary, and that's without including all costs associated with running a company, manufacturing costs, research & troubleshooting, coding, insuranceS (note the S, one insurance doesn't cover everything from lawsuits, health, accidents, etc.) Please don't ever attempt to run a company, specially international ones that require regulating in each country, and stay working at McDonalds.

Pełnej diagnostyki nie da się zrobić we wszystkich autach, ale posiada funkcje standardowego skanera OBD, który pokaże te typowe błędy z ECU. Ale z tego co widzę, to cały czas rozwijają oprogramowanie i może kiedyś poszerzą funkcjonalność o Volvo.

Top that I got was in E61 with close to 90 codes. BMW happen to store each and every fault - even if it's as insignificant as blown bulb in rear courtesy light.

Tried using Carista with 3 different OBD2 devices - EPIC FAILURE! They (the manufacturer I guess) say you can use the app with a 3rd party device but it didnt work for me for either of the 3 devices. I got a limited functionality on one of them but not really what i wanted from the app. in their explanatory/advertising videos they say that the devices arent all made equal and that you shouldnt buy cheap c..ap. One of my devices was OBDeleven which worked perfectly with their app. Another one was a device purchased at Autozone (that device too worked with its own app but not Carista!) Therefore, I understand that the devices were perfectly functional but Carista didnt work and claimed they were defective. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

In my understanding OBD scanners use internal chip called ELM327. There are a lot of cheap knock-offs of that chip. And even if you manage to buy a device with original one there are several versions of the ELM327 that implement different features. To make things worst the fake ones identify as the newest version of the ELM327 which brings more confusion to the app that's trying to work with the scanner. Each scanner (original or fake ELM327) will have some basic functionality (like reading engine codes and clearing check engine" light) but some apps (like Carista) use more advanced features (like reading and storing config data to control units). Most likely that's why Carista is refusing to work with your device but the device still works with it's own software.

Caristas approach is much different than OBDeleven. It's like a iOS vs Android where in iOS you can make only as much as Apple lets you and in Android you can do whatever you want including making the system inoperable.

mf-fix if you're i,plying that OBDeleven is the ios and carista is android, i gotta say that from what I can see OBDeleven also gives you am option for customization and long coding. What has put me off from carista before i actually managed to get it working is how capricious their app is - cant connect to this, dont like that, come on maaan!

As far as I know it will not let you change coding of your engine, ABS, transmission or other essential modules. At the moment it's for enabling and adjusting features, reseting service reminder and releasing brakes for pad change. No advanced service procedures but I believe that they are working on some (like DPF regeneration).

Diagnostyka na pewno. Co do kodowań to trzeba zapytać/sprawdzić na stronie producenta. Puszczają co chwilę update do apki i wspieranych pojazdów robi się coraz więcej.
