Unlock VW and AUDI features easily! OBDeleven Pro Review; VCDS alternative - Netcruzer TECH 

*IMPORTANT - I received a media test unit that included PRO code and 200 credits. Pro code and credits are not included with the devices right now on their store. I've also learned that the keyring version does not include PRO. The Pro Pack is sold separately. I apologize for the misleading errors, and have asked OBDeleven to update their website or to offer devices bundled with Pro and with Credits. I forgot to show if the ELM327 device worked with OBDeleven app. It did not work. OBDeleven app needs the genuine OBDeleven device. Also I do wish the OBDeleven device would work with other apps, like torque. Forum says that is unlikely to ever happen. I guess they are concerned some other 3rd party app could replicate their long coding solution for free. So I'd like OBDeleven to add a gauge page like Torque has. Something to show boost pressure, 0-60 times, HP numbers in a dashboard, etc would be a great value add on top of what OBDeleven can already do.

Buying credits for it to do stuff - so basically micro transactions for my car? Are you sure Electronic Arts haven't produced this dongle? That would be quite fitting. Future feature - you will get a crate box that unlocks a random thing in your car every day.

This device would have been interesting at twice the price, trice the price even... as long as it had not included this damn micro-transaction bullcrap.

I have an obdeleven and it's great. Looking at the comments there seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding the credit and app system. You don't need to buy credits to change anything, you can just do it manually by doing your research first. Also, you can get 5 free credits a day, one for just opening the app, and 4 more for watching short ads. Most of the instant app changes only cost like 10 credits so you can easily build up enough free points to use those. I've used at least a half dozen of the instant coding apps and haven't payed for credits once and I never will. And to be honest there aren't even that many instant coding apps anyway, for a lot of changes you'll need to manually do it yourself, which is why I also suggest that you get the pro version from the start since you can only do long coding with that one.

Great video, really not a fan of the credit system though. I'd rather pay more for the device and be able to change things as and when I want to.

Another thing to consider is if you take your vehicle to the dealership for any ECU updates it may wipeout any or all changes. This means you would have to pay twice for the same change(s). Plus, if you want to change something back prior to visiting the dealership for any reason and change back after, you would pay for a single item 3 times. And some changes are 100 credits and I think you can purchase 500 credits for around $50? The cost of this item can climb pretty quick

The second I heard "credits" (microtransactions, let's not kid on here) I stopped watching. Buy Carista instead. It's cheaper in the first place (there's even a free version), the Carista dongle costs about £15 ($21) and you don't have to pay to used it.

All I want to do is make my '17 alltrack not warn me that it's less than 40f outside. Can this dongle/app thing do the trick? Is there an easier solution?

I’ve owned this device for about a year now. Works for everything I needed and it’s less than the Ross vcds for MY needs. Once you buy the app subsection on the main app, you own it. You do not need to repurchase it for that vehicle. I don’t know how it works for multiple vehicles. I used it to disable hill assist and reduce the brake assist as you come to a stop. The brake assist is that annoying feature where if you maintain the same brake pedal pressure as you slow down, the car decides at the last few mph to apply additional pressure to basically stop short. Other than that, I use it for code reading which I haven’t had to do much of. Hmmm $80 or $200-$300? $80 does all I need.

Hey, I just bought a camera for my VW Crafter and the guy said theat once i fit the interface cable the head unit will need told that a camera is now installed etc. Will this device do the trick for me. Thanks

Everybody's getting their knickers in a bunch over the credits. I used them only once to code Urban Joke on my mk7. Everything else I did using OBDeleven I did manually without having any need for the credits. Do some research before throwing shit all over a device you know nothing about.

FYI, your passenger seat fault may have been from the NFC in your phone. when I place my phone on my passenger seat, the car warns me that the seat belt is unbuckled. Near Field Communication seems to mess with the sensor.

I will definitely keep my vcds micro-can. OBDEleven seems more like a toy than a diagnostic tool (microtransactions...really???). I would not consider it for anything other than enabling/disabling convenience features. The logging/live data capability of VCDS is where it really shines and there is a clear reason it sets the bar for aftermarket vag diag tools.

2:25 - Torque. Very nice little app to have... *EXCEPT* trying to figure out what car, version, chipset version, and modules you want to work with for said vehicle. For the non car-savvy (like me) it was pretty useless. This device seems like a decent option (except for the buy hardware, but more $$$ for its use for the non-code set among us). I'd like to have something that pairs with a GOOD dashcam (4k single channel??) to provide vehicle parameters like accel, brake, lights, steering angle, RPM and the like. Potential? Waste of time?

I have a question about this product if anyone can help would be greatly appreciated. My friend and I both have Jetta SEL w/ Digital cockpits. We just want to do simple stuff like change the gauges in them and the keyfob window up/down feature kind of things. Do we have to buy two OBD11 or can we use one between the two cars? I’m using IOS.

My fear is that it is so easy to turn your car into a brick on wheels.

I like this and I think the credit system is quite nice. I mean, I am familiar with VCDS, but I’d be willing to pay for the convenience of not researching and doing long coding. Nice to just be able to have it done already. Makes me want to get a VW just so I can have this!

Sorry I know this is not the top but .... How can I test if radiator cooling fans are working or not in Audi A7/A6 TDI 3.0? My car is not overheating but while on my driveway I never heard fans running after coming from driving. I saw a test for Fan1 and Fan 2 in this OBDEleven, but both says " Not supported" when I try to select value for that test.

My 1.6 tdi Skoda has a hot start problem related to a slightly old starter plus the stupid dieselgate fuel map tweaks that does not squirt any fuel if the starter does not turn at certain rpms (thanks VW!) Can you tweak starting fuel settings with this?

That is quite pricy for some features you would pay once or twice during the ownwership of a car. Mostly, owners needs an interface that can enable retrofit devices, like cruise controls, radios, navigations etc. Those small things that makes a car so much better during daily use, but often is prohibitively expensive because of stealership charges. The rest is prettey well covered by free apps. This device compares to the expense of stealership charges, plus you would have to mess with it by your own. Not worth the money IMHO.

The credit system and yearly membership fee are dogshit I can literally get a $40 laptop and a $10 cable off eBay and get vcds for free off the internet. Now I have unlimited lifetime uses for whatever I want. The only useful feature they have is pre-made modifications that you can download someone else already did. That's the only upside to this

big RED Flag here... if that deice cant detect the right car then you netter not use hthis for tuning and diagnostics.... they could have easily hidden this big bugg by having the app call a web API to use the VIN from the ECU to get hte right car specs, so embarrassing!

Not bad. But VCDS is allot more in Depth and versatile. Have it hooked up to my convertable tablet and take it to meets and tweek people's cars . Just allot more info and easier to show results..

So you're selling them and OBD II port Bluetooth module for 60 + bucks and then you're going to charge them to use it. Don't do it! do a little searching on the internet and you can do it far cheaper. they make it sound like you need to be a nerd technician but you don't.

Don't be fooled. Only most high option comfort packs let you modify SOME settings from the car computer. Most cars don't have this.

This credit system is kinda stupid! At least have it so that when you spend the credits you can do that mod an unlimited amount of times.

It begins when you have an accident. When they find out you modified the firmware with some app from the internet :D on the other hand you have to pay for each feature to unlock in any way, who will you trust in terms of responsibility? an app from the internet or the manufacturer? better pay some more and take the manufacturer offer and his responsibility and knowledge also with it!
