I'm an SU demo and I've been using my heavy-duty Carl Cutter since 2004. It's amazing! I just go back and forth a few times and I don't move it out of the way. I keep my eye on it, so it doesn't slide back under.
I think it might depend on how big the cut piece is. I have found smaller pieces fall away from the blade easier than the half sheets of cardstock. Thanks, I will keep working at it, but so far I love it. It cuts through regular DSP like a hot knife through butter.
I realize you did this review a while ago, but I just came across it in my research for a new paper trimmer. As a card maker, I struggle with getting my layers perfectly squared - and so I asked for this trimmer for Christmas. You did a wonderful job in showing how this functions and I’m hoping this makes life easier, especially with heavier weight cardstocks. I’m wondering if you have any issue with the magnetic bar moving while cutting? And, is it possible to cut small rectangles for sentiments if you were to put a smaller piece of cardstock entirely under the yellow finger guard? Thanks for any help you can give me.
CK I've learned a lot of work arounds since I have been using the Carl trimmer. I have been thinking about doing another video to share those tips. Keep a look out for that. Thank you for your comment.
I haven't used it for that but I will tell you that the blade guard only allows a certain amount of paper at once so I'm thinking that 30 sheets would be too thick to cut with this. I have a heavy duty Fiskars cutter that I got from Sam's Club that I use to cut something like that.
I think the blades last a long time. I use mine a lot to prepare kit materials and I am amazed at how it cuts so well. I definitely recommend it. No regrets!
