I love the way Froch leaves that right hand right below his chin. Manny Stewart used to teach that. with your right hand in that position you can block incoming shots and your also in position to throw your own right hand. Guys that like to dangle that left hand low usually have the right hand right at their chin.

Jay Hunter. After watching this fight again in slow motion , I have to agree that Froch won this terrific fight , by landing the most clean shots. Some shots looked like ko punches but both showed great chlns and will to win . Well done to both guys they earned their money !
Watching it for the first time in many years, I'm impressed by Froch's smarter boxing in the second half of the fight. He mostly avoided falling into the trap of staying on the inside - which gave the slightly faster, more explosive Pascal chance to tag him with good shots - and instead stayed on the outside, jabbing smartly to keep Pascal off balance and frustrated, often making him miss on the increasingly rare occasions when the Canadian threw power shots. Making a power puncher in the style of Pascal miss takes a lot of energy out of them because they put a lot of weight behind those punches and, when they miss, they throw themselves totally off balance.

most people who watch boxing don't know shit especially those who agree that pacquiao lost. I thought it was rigged because he clearly landed more punches and he also blocked slot of Mayweather punches. but for some reason Compubox only counted Mayweather's missed and blocked jabs . he didn't throw any hooks or even attempt any uppercuts the whole fight so I don't understand how he had that many punches thrown and landed. Compubox was completely fictitious so was 118 to 110 score cards. that was complete bullshit and obviously staged
I have always loved this fight. It was one of the best fights i have ever seen. I can remember where i was and who i was with that's how good a fight it was. Froch is a monster and i right good guy too. Fantastic.

I never said Froch fought bums. What I did say was that he was a hard puncher but not a ko puncher against top opposition . I also said his great chin saved him in lots of fights because he is so easy to hit as proved by groves.

Froch threw more, landed more, and led comfortably in power punches landed. Just take a look at Pascal's body language at the ends of 9-12. Froch won 2-1 in the first 3. These were the most violent rds and Froch clearly landed many more impactful shots. Pascal hit a lot of air - that happens when you punch with your head down.
Yep, Froch got smarter as the fight went on and was increasingly making Pascal hit thin air - when Pascal dared to throw, because a lof of the time he didn't bother, either due to exhaustion or Froch being out of range. In the first 5 rounds, the fight was pretty even or one could argue Pascal might even have had an edge, but after that he couldn't claim more than a single round, at most, for me.
Jay Hunter. I agree Froch never lacked courage just finesse. Does not seem so arrogant now he has retired. He had a great chin a great engine was fearless , but lacked natural talent, and could be made to look raw and very wild by clever fighters like dirrell and ward and Taylor.
I have to admit while not impressed at the start of his career, Kovalov is starting to look very special indeed.; not just a huge puncher he has good skill and is looking the best in the division
So many people saying Pascal won the early rounds...Froch did more damage in each of rounds two and three, easily. Pascal was getting hit as often as Froch, and his spacing wasn't the kind of world class stuff that befits the kind of boxer that he's being given credit for in these comments. He didn't get robbed. That said, Kovalev would be a scary challenge for Froch, who has overachieved with a great chin and the kind of power that takes you apart piecemeal...and while he is good at keeping his spacing when at a distance, he would need mote upper body movement and more lateral footwork to survive Kovalev when he closes.

I didnt have a dog in this fight, but Froch fought like shit, looked like shit all night, got hurt early and never really recovered and was outboxed, outpunched and outclassed the whole fight. The decision was was as ridiculous as the scoring. The whole thing was a black eye for pro boxing. Id call it joke, but jokes are supposed to be funny.

Felix Rodriguez he would of beaten Froch. Would love to of seen Kovalev v Joe Calzaghe, that would of been a great fight with Kovalev's power, and Calzaghe's phenomenal work rate and lighting fast hand speed. It would of had all the ingredients of a great fight.

Clear winner Froch. Pascal ducked deeply, exposing the back of the head, he lunged and held all the time. As against Taylor, Froch showed more stamina.

Great fight. Takes 2 to tango. I kept an eye on Tyson Fury and at no time did he look interested in the fight. Great fight thought it was closer but every round was close. Carl Froch is a dude, great fight.

Froch was a great champion. Had classic bouts against Groves (Twice) Bute and Kessler (2nd). I do feel now though in October 2017 Chris Eubank Jnr is the super middleweight man.
117-112 to Froch for me. The jab really pulled Froch through that. He could have very easily outclassed Pascal if he bothered to keep his left hand up. I got a little irked by Pascal ducking his head so low at times, but hey ho, didn't seem to work out well for him in the end.
I usually gripe about commentators, but this time it's the referee who in round 8 decided to carry on a conversation with someone outside the ring while the fighters were inside the ring throwing punches. He is supposed to have his full attention on the fight. Then in the 10th he stops the fight to adjust the trunks on Pascal which did not need adjustment. I think he had a few before the fight. Worst referee Iv'e seen in a long time. All that being said, it was a terrific fight. The back and forth, round to round effort by both fighters was amazing to watch. I might have some issues with some of the scoring, but I thought the judges did give it to the winner.

Actually, besides being a great boxer, I think Ward is a fighter too. Much more a fighter than little Floyd. Yes, he is not a crowd pleasing fighter as well, but in his case, I dont think it is because he doesnt fight. I think it is because of his odd style. He almost never keeps rythm, constantly breaking the rythm does not look good, fluid to the eye..
