Everyone who watches this MUST watch that All-Star-studded concert mentioned at the end. One of the greatest rock-and-roll shows EVER put together, and it's on RU-vid - Rockabilly Session with Carl Perkins and Friends
Carl was the nicest rock and roll legend you could ever hope to meet. I spent a little time with him and just loved the man. He was so humble and kind. A true Southern Gentleman. God rest his soul.
When I was in grade five, I memorized the words to “Blue Suede Shoes”, and remember entertaining my class with an off-key rendition while our teacher was out of the room.
Great song, Elvis didn't want to record it because he was such a great friend. Carl was at the hospital recovering from a car accident and in the end Elvis had to record it, reluctantly that is. We all wish we had loyal friends like that!
What would it have been blast if Elvis was sitting right there next to Carl. Well it was not in the stars so I can only imagine what fun they would have togheter. Like Dave said, Carl is a legend. I loved the Dave Letterman show and this is a good example why. ❤
