I am a nurse and after working 10 years on a cardiac floor and telling patients, "we just don't know why this happened...here is your cardiac monitor". Those monitors only caught things some of the time & people just accepted this because we just pushed people out the door. I just want to share that none of this is normal. Passing out is not normal. Dizziness is not normal. These are all symptoms of your body going through something. You need to be persistent & be your own advocate. After nursing for 13 years, my biggest suggestions for people, is to always question everything. Do not just accept anything because, "the doctor/nurse knows best". They may care about you, but no one cares about you the way your family does & you need to be persistent. Find the right practitioner. You are worth it.
May not be a bad idea to record the episode, not for release on your blog. So the recording to the doctor and see if he can evaluate what is happening. Prayers
Alicia also this same similar thing happened Alyssa. Not sure if something 100 percent the same but this is a good thought. Something is wrong. I am worried for her..💕
As a medical professional and someone who has gone through something similar when I had my daughter, you definitely need to have your blood tested again. I ended up having to get 2 units of blood and be on prescription strength Iron for 6 months before the symptoms totally went away and I felt human again. Sending love and prayers your way. I hope you get answers soon.
Hey I had my gallbladder removed but Had to have almost 5 units of blood before surgery. Tried the iron meds and had a hard time so I do Iron infusions for a couple months..HUGE HELP.
My daughter fell. Broke her jaw and could hardly eat after she healed. She lost a lot of weight through these past feel 2 yrs not able to eat due to her throat swelling. Plus being light headed, shaking, looking very plale all the time. She went to the ER, they did blood work and found out she was very nemick and needed iron. They wanted to admit her in the hospital for a blood transfusion, but she said she would get Iron. Now her color and her body look healthy and she is feeling great, no more shakes, headach, lightheadedness and she can eat without choking now.
Both my daughters became extremely anemic after their first babies and have to take iron. It turns out they inherited my mothers anemia. I discovered my mom had it from reading her medical records (mom died before our girls were born)
I was having the same problem with dizziness and passing out. Also lack of energy and shortness of breath. This had been happening for years. No one knew what was going on. They all would say you’re getting up too quickly and just sit for a minute or longer before you get up. Finally this year it was at its worse. I ended up being admitted to two different hospitals. The first hospital ran a lot of tests and said everything was fine. So they admitted me Saturday and discharged me on a Wednesday. While at church the following Sunday I felt the dizziness and fainting coming on especially when I stood up. My husband decided I needed to go back to the hospital, but the one where my cardiologist was at. I ended up going by ambulance because I had no fight in me to even stand up on my own. They ran tests and were about to let me go until I stood up with the heart monitor on and my heartbeat was up to 180 beats. At that point they decided to admit me. I prayed to God to give the doctors the knowledge of what was happening to me. God answered my prayers. My doctor came in Tuesday and diagnosed me with Tachycardia.I knew that I had the right diagnosis because before I took the medication he prescribed every time I moved my heart monitor would go off and the nurses would run to the room and now no one came. I felt good for the first time in years. The nurse came in the room that night and said no your monitor didn’t go off at all. My doctor prescribed me Metoprolol and Midodrine. My energy level came back immediately, also no more dizziness, or fainting. It was over just like that. All the glory goes to God. I pray you read this and it helps you. Praying for your total healing in Jesus name. One more thing the day I was released from the hospital my teenagers came home from school and they hugged me so tight. My daughter noticed I was standing up and walking without passing out. My kids knew that they had their mom back.
Please don’t drive, or be alone watching the kids, until you have this figured out. You are worth the effort and you want your two little ones to be safe and not have to see mommy unresponsive. Let others help you through this time. Remember, that’s our job as family & Christians. You & Evan would do it for another mom in a heart beat.
It's gotta be an accidental dural puncture from the epidural which can cause seizures, numbness, headache, etc. I have POTS but this doesn't exactly stand out to me as this being the problem. Since it started suddenly after your epidural, this all points to dural puncture (which is treatable). ❤️🙏🏻
@@rachelwelch1 This is true. I re-watched it and now feel that it's not the epidural. I believe it is related to her MTHFR blood disorder and lactation not playing nicely together. I think that's why she's still getting episodes.
Your sister had heart surgery so I would follow up with a cardiologist to make SUPER sure your heart is ok. Also you just gave birth so I’d ask about blood clots and internal bleeding. Those are the big 3. Many prayers and much love!!!!
I’m carlins age & got diagnosed with epilepsy after having a seizure in college! Can totally relate to everything she said. Brought me so much closer to the Lord when I realized how fragile life is!
It seems that seizures are quite common with college kids more than we realize. My son had his first seizure his first week at college. Prayers for y’all.
Carlin, you've got to slow down!! Your body is trying to tell you this. I had this exact thing happen to me 5 years ago and I went through a battery of tests and they found nothing wrong. Thank the Lord it hasn't happened since but when I look back I think I was running myself too hard and this is how my body reacted. Please please get some rest and stay down.
I completely agree. I also think you need to reevaluate your blood work and make sure your heart is all good. Unfortunately, I have personally found that persistent stress causes all kinds of weird reactions from our body. Even when we don’t “feel” like we’re stressed out. God made our bodies so amazingly, and yours is definitely telling you something is off. Prayers for you, Sweet One!💕🙏💕
@@kathleensarachinsky1460 they literally have 2 kids. They aren’t baby making machines. But yes, it sounds like she needs more rest and a nutrient rich diet.
I've had POTS for 28 years. This is exactly how it started, following my first pregnancy. It worsened with my second and third pregnancy, but I learned to manage it over the years and I live a great life! Prayers for Carlin.
My daughter went through something very similar! After many tests, they came to the conclusion that she was deficient in vitamin B12. I know it sounds small, but she literally went through just the same severe symptoms as Carlin because of it, it's been over a year now, although she is much better, she still doesn't feel 💯 well. Wish you guys blessings! Prayers! 🙏🏼
B12 is crucial!!!! It does seem small but it is so huge!! You can get vitamin infusions too of iron and B12. Would make sense after all the blood loss of birth and postpartum
@@ericaclinton9006 not sure. I still have dizzying episodes. I wake up and have to go to the bathroom and I can't stand up. Everytime I do, I fall down again, but it's always on my side. It's scary. I was put on iron pills for awhile to get my anemia to go away and it worked. I was also put on Vitamin D & Vitamin B12! I have a bunch of things I'm looking at, but nothing like Carlin's symptoms. I pray they find out what is wrong with her.
Carlin whatever is happening it is not normal. Passing out is not normal. Constantly feeling dizzy is not normal. Your body is trying to give you signs. If your primary thinks nothing is wrong then get a different primary. Get a specialist. Advocate for yourself. In the meantime the newer apple watches have a function that can detect falls and call 911 if need be. Might bring some peace of mind until you figure out what is going on. Hoping you all get answers soon!
Hope you feel better and they actually find out what definitely is going on. It might be a good ideal to have one of your Sisters stay with you while Evan is at work.
I'm so sorry for your illness! After my first pregnancy, I fainted several times and finally a doctor diagnosed my HYPERinsulinism (instead of high blood sugar, my insulin would spike too high, dropping the sugar too low too fast). It eventually resolved on its own, but it was a scary time having a first newborn and being ill. Good luck to you all! Prayers!!
I'm not a medical professional but all of my sisters and I have had similar issues (not the seizure-like symptoms) and it was iron deficiency for all of us. I pray it's something that simple for you Carlin. Take care of you.
Just want to say, thankful you’re still here and as okay as can be. Also, that I started praying for you since the episodes with Zade’s birth but you’ve crossed my mind seriously several times and so I’ve prayed for you. I have never put my prayers on YT before. Blogging yes. YT no. I have no idea if it will stay for you to read. Here goes: Heavenly Father I thank you for the Bates family and all the extensions. I thank You for Carlin and Evan and their precious family. I thank You that You watch over us, caring and providing in many ways we don’t even know about. I ask for Your wisdom and understanding to be with Carlin, Evan and anyone else who is or will be involved in her medical care. Please direct the medical professionals in what is needed. Also, please bring about the answer as to what’s going on and the “fix”. Thank You, so much for Carlin and Evan and family. May Your will be done and in the name of Jesus, I pray these things. Amen. ❤❤❤❤❤
Call 911 whenever you don't know what to do. They will help determine if you should drive her to the hospital or if an ambulance is on its way. Never wait. I'm so surprised how long everyone waited. Always Era on the side of better to call than not call. As far as flying, I wouldn't recommend doing that until you nail down what is happening. Flying can cause issues and compound them and since you don't know what's going on, you will be stuck on a plane with limited help. I get that you all want to go to the wedding, but common sense needs to be applied here. Have the wedding live streamed for you if it's that paramont for you all to see and feel part of the celebration.
Carlin, I am praying for you and that the doctors and nurses can figure out what is going on so that they can help you. None of this sounds normal to me. I am glad that you guys are insisting on answers and are trying to get the help you deserve. Evan, you’re doing an amazing job of being by Carlin’s side during this difficult time. Much love and prayers to the Stew Crew! Love y’all ❤️♥️❤️♥️
Prayers for all, for answers, for healing. You guys are such a precious family and Carlin is surely an earth-side angel! Seriously, will be praying for all of you. PLEASE CALL 911 IF THIS EVER HAPPENS AGAIN -- then decide what else to do. My mother was a woman who passed out easily and I never regretted calling 911.
Praying for you Carlin! I definitely suggest getting thoroughly checked at a cardiologist. There's a condition that causes exactly what you've experienced.
Carlin, I’m praying for you, for wisdom for the doctors, for healing and restoration in your body, as well as peace and comfort for you and Evan as you go through something so very difficult. I’m so sorry this is happening to you, I can’t imagine how scary, especially the unknown but we know who holds you in the palm of His hand, He’s got you. Sending lots of love and prayers to you both from Oklahoma. ❤️
I'm so thankful you weren't alone. I've had two episodes similar to yours within the last five year and the neurologist originally thought they were TIA's later said they were what you call "complicated migraines" ironically though I didn't have a migraine. He said they're more common in young adults and he was surprised because I was 54 yrs old at the time. I'll definitely keep you in my prayers.
It does sound like seizures. They take a lot out of you. I’ve been diagnosed with epilepsy a few years ago. The first one I had I was told I was “out of it” for a good 10-15 minutes. My husband cried and prayed to get me out of it. I’ll be praying for her! God bless you all!
I miss Layla💕 my dear Carlin take it easy and sit down please. Our body's let us know by surprising us like this. Be extra careful, let Evan and fam help you back to a speedy recovery. I wish I could give you all a hug💛
I am so glad that you realize how dangerous this could have been especially with driving or with the kids. And yes most definitely you need to keep following up until they figure out what is wrong . Sending prayers
I developed this same thing at the time of my second pregnancy. I still suffer from it today, decades later. I had a combination of anemia & sudden hypotensive episode (BP drop.) I was taken to the hospital by ambulance many MANY times. Today, the condition is managed with medication. The diagnosis came after multiple specialists were involved. The anemia was differentiated into 2 different anemias. Still no reason for the sudden BP drops so I'm on meds around the clock to keep my BP steady. I never have had a normal BP or even high BP. The hematologist & the internist came up with the causes as best they could & the treatment which has made the difference. I had to wear long-term heart monitors multiple times as well as multiple EEG, CT scans, MRIs, lab tests galore. I had to do my BP at home frequently to try to catch the episodes. I urge you to get a home BP monitor that's easy to use, consult internist. I was hospitalized multiple times before they ever determined the reason. I went on to have more children but was always very careful after this started. Praying for you as well as your family. Don't give up on finding out the cause for your condition. BTW I'm a retired RN specialist.
To see the raw emotions on Evan's face and the fear was heartbreaking but I want you to know that I'm here supporting and praying for you and your family! ... It's time to put full and total trust in God and leave all in his hands! ❤️🌹❤️
My daughter does this at times. She has for years. She was diagnosed as having vasovagal syncope. But I truly believe that she has POTS syndrome. Prayers for you and your family and I hope they can get to the bottom of this for you guys.
i was just diagnosed on tuesday with pots. if you buy a oxometer you can do an unnofficial pots test but laying down for ten minutes and take your heart rate one in those ten minutes. then after ten minutes come up to a standing position then take the heart rate twice in those ten minutes. if the heart rate rises more than 20-30 bpm then there’s a possibility she has pots. if that’s the case set up an appt with a cardiologist and don’t leave until they give her a pots test.
Y’all are in my thoughts and prayers!!!! This sounds like something I went through with my 2nd pregnancy. Months and months later after stumping countless doctors I was diagnosed with epilepsy! There is absolutely no history of epilepsy in my family, but hormones and changes in hormones can definitely cause seizures. It took a while to figure out the exact dosage of medication I needed, but they finally got it right! This happened 13 years ago. I will be on seizure meds the rest of my life, but I’m ok!!!! Also, don’t give up, if one doctor says he doesn’t know, continue to press on and find another one. I worked in the medical field for 7 years, I went through all of this and I also have a daughter who is special needs. Finding answers can definitely drain you, but keep searching for a physician who will listen and search and until they know for sure what’s going on. Also, Please don’t drive until you figure out what’s going on. I would hate for anything to happen to you and your precious babies.
I hope they read this and get a neurologist / epileptologist on board. Did she have an EEG? My son has seizures and being in that world you hear a lot of different stories from people. Don’t know how big their hospital is but they may need to go elsewhere since this one keeps sending her home.
@@tlynn7043 I’m not sure what all kinds of testing she had done. I know there are soooo many kinds of seizures out there and I think too many times people just think of grand mal seizures. For myself, by the time I would get to the hospital I would just about be back to normal. That’s why it took the doctors so long to diagnose me. But I agree if they’re going to keep sending her home find someone else who will listen! That’s what I had to do.
@@nicoledavidson126 she just posted she had another episode and they are suspecting seizures. Can’t do EEG at that hospital so they are recommending they go home and call a neurologist. They need to go to a bigger hospital and get answers before she ends up with a head injury or teeth knocked out. Where are the parents to tell them these things??
Sounds like you need an in depth cardiovascular and neurological workup. Had the same symptoms and turned out I was going in and out of atrial fibrillation with my heart. Sending prayers you find out what is causing all this. I have a medical background and it was scary for me so stay strong. You know you're body doesn't feel right so keep looking for answers.
If I remember correctly Carlin and some of her sisters have needed blood thinners during their pregnancy, It's worth mentioning to your doctors. Prayers for health and healing. Note: Also worth a call to Carlin's OBGYN.
This was such a scary video. My heart goes out to you guys. Carlin, I pray that God heals your body. I know you both have to be so worried. I will be praying for this situation, and everyone involved. I love you guys. Warm hugs & love sent. 🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻♥️
Best wishes to you and yours! Praying for Carlin’s improving health! All of these symptoms all issues that show be checked out by a hospital! Possibly POTS.
Sounds like POTS. I have POTS and have seizures with mine. When the blood pools to my legs I wasn't getting enough blood circulating to my heart and brain. My heart would start racing and I would go into a seizure. (Non epileptic seizures)- looking like gran mal seizures. I would be exhausted as if I ran a marathon. It would sometimes take a good day or two to feel like myself again. Look into finding a functional medicine doctor. You will be amazed. Prayers to Carlin and the family. 🙏
@@melissahemphill5048 my niece’s heart monitor showed her heart running a marathon most night which left her exhausted when it was time to wake up. She like you has a severe case of POTS. She drank plenty of water but ended up dehydrated and in the ER getting 2 bags of fluid each time she went. Sometimes she even got admitted due to dehydration, pain, nausea and tachycardia . She even went to the Mayo Clinic for a week of inpatient testing. She finally has her POTS under control without medications and just finished giving birth to 2 lovely children, boy in 2020 and a girl in 2021.
I had literally the same thing happen after my second baby! 8 yrs later I’m still trying to get things figured out but was diagnosed with POTS and had to cut caffeine and dark drinks at first for many years. But many yrs they just told me I was having panic/anxiety attacks and that was causing chest pains. Well now it’s gotten worse and hopefully soon will get better answers. Praying for you both! It can be very scary especially with littles to care for! I’m thankful now that some of mine are older and can get help if needed
oh, Evan & Carlin! 😭 praying SO hard for y'all, for clarity & quick healing. I can only imagine how hard it must be to trust the Lord with this, especially right now, with a new house & precious little Zade finally here. You guys are such a joy. Love you so much. ❤️
praying your mom in law, mom and others take turns w Evan and you get 2 weeks complete bed rest..."means only getting up for showers and bathroom breaks" EVEN ESPECIALLY IF u think u r fine....ONLY get up for shower n bathroom breaks. DO NOT BE LEFT ALONE!!!
My son, who is 31, has gone through this several times in the last 8 months. And all of a sudden, now, he is completely fine with no more symptoms. He is in the military and they were VERY slow to run testing! I actually suspected he had myocarditis that has been linked to COVID and the shot in healthy young people, albeit primarily males. They ran every single test imaginable and all of them came back normal, which was all good. But the shear fact that he now is well, I’m calling him healed and all thanks to God Almighty!!! Praying for Carlin too. For clear answers and for complete healing.
Don’t give up on getting a diagnosis, no matter how many docs you have to see! I had symptoms of depression, but knew I wasn’t depressed. I knew it was something physically wrong with me. 3 drs. tried to convince me I was depressed! Finally, my sister found a Dr who did tests no one else even talked about & discovered I have a rare thyroid issue. Praying for you and this situation
Wow can I ask what other symptoms you had other than depression as well? I’m curious because I’ve had some tough times lately and got sent to urgent care did all the blood tests and of Course it all came back “normal” and they didn’t listen to my concerns. My mother has thyroid issues yet they say mine is always normal.
@@haleywhitten1947 Dont give up- I've been through lots of Thyroid issues and most doctors will only find the typical course of treatment which leaves alot of patients untreated. check with a functional medicine doctor and get the full round of tests. There are lots of types of meds also - Natural dessicated thyroid, as well as the typical levothyroxine and Synthroid and Cytomel (T3) educate yourself.
I hope they figure out what’s wrong soon.❤️ Evan is such an amazing husband, and takes such good care of his family. I wish you guys all the best 💖 God bless 🙏
If it’s in your budget get the newest Apple Watch and turn on the *Fall Detection* setting, as well as heart rate detection. As you well know with Alyssa, the heart rate monitor will alert you when your pulse changes quickly, and the fall detection will call an EMS if you don’t dismiss the alert. Both of those detectors could be really vital for you. Also, doing an ECG on the watch and saving the chart to your phone to have is also helpful. I haven’t heard of it happening but, if you’re passed out maybe someone can hold your finger to the crown and take an ECG for you while you wait on help. The chart you save from it could help the doctors. 🙏 ♥️
I have a similar issue. When I was pregnant with my daughter I did the same thing. However, never got a final diagnosis until years later. They said I was having “Focal Seizures”. I remember nothing afterwards. So, years later they said I had a heart murmur. Sending prayers for y’all. 🙏
I feel like that drop in hemoglobin from 12 to 9 in 24 hours has got to be a clue...I hope you told all the doctors you've been working with about that! I am praying for wisdom and peace for you guys!!
@@GL-ug5lc I’m thinking the same as well with her still in postpartum stage with a newborn I would have thought this should be the first checks that there isn’t something going on there x
I am so sorry you are having these issues. So glad they are running tests to find out what the problem is. Please keep us up on how you are feeling. 🙏🙏 for answers, and for healing♥️
You are so precious, Carlin! I will keep you in my prayers! When I have ended up in the ER, I felt like I never got straight answers either, but please, please follow up on this until you know what's going on!!!
I have vestibular migraines. They are not "just a headache." They are neurological and can have stroke-like symptoms including...slurred speech, lightheadedness, confusion, etc. They can be brought on by hormone changes and other things can trigger them such as certain foods and stress. It is worth asking about. It may not be what you have. They checked me for Meniere's, orthostatic hypotension, and did a CT scan and MRI. My doctor later determined it was most likely vestibular migraine since I DID NOT ALWAYS have a migraine headache with my lightheadedness. In fact, most of the time, there's not headache when I have a migraine. I have symptoms that are neurological but stroke etc were ruled out. I will be praying for you! I have been there and the Lord will get you through this. You WILL get to the bottom of this. 😊
I agree, the first thing they should have done was call 911. Especially since this seems to be a reoccurring event. I know they wanted to make sure Carlin was stable but with all the people there, someone should have stepped up and called. I pray if this happens again, they will do this.
Yes, I was so disturbed when that happened at the boutique. Her sister has heart problems. When they could not bring her to that's very concerning, and to have not called 911?
I'm praying for you now Carlin, you're God's special child and He will take care of you and your beautiful family. Lord she's in your precious hands as well as her loving husband 🙏🙏❤️
Passing out during labor and still afterwards there should definitely be more looking into it. So scary. I know you guys were in the hospital when Layla was little and when she was in as well. I just thought of that how scary it must be to be back in the hospital. Lots of prayers for strength.
I'm glad that you are getting more tests. Keep going until you have an answer! I would keep a daily journal starting with everything that happened before you went to the hospital. It might show a pattern or new clues for the doctors. Carlin, make sure someone is with you 24/7. I would talk to Alyssa too. I am praying that you find an answer quickly and get treated.
I had the 'It could never happen to me' moment in December. I would keep being an advocate for yourself. You deserve an answer, even if that means specialists or whatever.
Prayers for y’all. I definitely agree with getting an ultrasound as my daughter had all the same symptoms and part of the placenta was still inside her. Please be gentle on yourself your body needs time to recover from birth. Rest as much as possible xo
Yes, I second this ! Have this checked along with the b vitamins and iron. I believe you’ve mentioned before having the MTHFR gene mutation and that means your body doesn’t absorb b vitamins and folate the same. All of those help with iron as well.
Sounds like mini seizures. I have history with seizures. You might want to have her tested for it. The shaking is part of having Seizures as well. Praying.
id look into her iron and ferritin especially! (optimal is 100) & possibly look into pots. i had the same experience for months until i figured out my ferritin was 5, i needed 3 iron infusions i was fainting daily, it corrected my pots most the way. definitely do the holter monitor and advocate for a tilt table test! both can be done with cardiology. 9.5 hemoglobin is veryyyyyy low! i was fainting at that number get some compression socks in the meantime!!
Omg this scares me. My ferritin was at 78 at the start of my pregnancy with my twins and by 28 weeks it was at 3! I felt HORRIBLE and had multiple infusions and bled really bad during my c section. They’re 15 months now and it’s back to the 70s but crazy how pregnancy impacts it so severely.
Oh my goodness what an awful time you are having. Praying for all of you but especially you Carlin. You are all so brave keeping us updated when your whole world is upside down. Please take care. Sending love from Scotland Mx 💖
I don’t know if you saw a nephrologist to check your kidneys. Everything you described I have experienced, but one thing you said regarding low hemoglobin really hit it home for me. I would absolutely see a nephrologist and a hematologist. Also, a gastroenterologist to see if you might have some bleeding from stomach or esophagus…doesn’t meat you are throwing up blood, it can pass through you. All of these are truly important to track…speaking from someone who had an injury to my kidneys, when kidneys get injured they rarely, if ever, heal. 15% usage of kidneys puts you on unos registration which could take years to find a match. You are so blessed to have so many of your siblings, if just one is a match you could do a living donor match. I honestly am not trying for this to be negative. I absolutely keep all of you in my prayers. I so look forward to hearing the doctors have determined the cause and you are back to 100% very soon!
Carlin, I am praying for you and hope you're feeling better. To you and Evan in the future ALWAYS CALL 911 ASAP when someone is passing out, having seizures, exhibiting heart attack or stroke symptoms, etc. It can save your life, and EVERY MINUTE COUNTS. Thank God that she got to the hospital safely. I think she needs to be seen by a Cardiologist and Neurologist ASAP. They'll always say you can't get an appointment for 1-2 months. Explain that she is a young Mother of 2 with a stressful job and explain the passing out and seizures she had. My husband had a lot of anxiety attacks in his 20's which required us calling 911, and they took him to the hospital every time. Better safe than sorry. Back in 2008 my husband went to the hospital 5 times in the month of December because of pounding heartbeat, dizziness, anxiety, weakness, inability to sleep, loss of appetite and the 1st four doctors did bloodwork and CT scans and MRI's. Three said nothing was wrong with him. On the 4th trip to the hospital in the same month, my husband had a terrifying seizure at home and another one at the hospital. The 4th doctor gave him Valium for the seizures. On the 5th trip my husband had another pounding heartbeat, and he begged the doctor to compare the 5 sets of bloodwork. 3 hours later they said he was full blown Diabetic II, and that he should go to his primary doctor for further treatment. He went down the street to his primary doctor who did bloodwork and confirmed the Diabetic II. He then checked into the hospital for 2 days where they gave him diabetic medication and fluids to help him improve. It should not have taken more than 2 visits for those doctors to diagnose my husband's diabetes. I am praying for you and Carlin that she will get to the right doctors quickly and that they take this seriously. I have been watching Bringing Up Bates for 6 years and miss the show so much. I keep up with your family on RU-vid. May God Bless Your Family Always and may Carlin get her condition diagnosed quickly with the proper treatment and no side effects. Also, you and Evan should both read a family Health Book so you will know how to handle the issues you are having now as well as CPR for adults and children.
Guys just so you know Carlin is better now all her levels are OK. They went to California for Lawson's wedding and are on the way home now. UPDATE: Carlin is in Nashville and in the emergency room again she passed out three times yesterday on the way home her iron and and levels are fine and they did blood work that also came back good as well as an MRI that didn't have any issues to the doctors are kind of stumped. UPDATE: they sent her home with a heart monitor to hopefully rule out heart issues.
I recommend asking your doctor about Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) I was recently diagnosed with it and have been having the same symptoms. Except I think that Carlin might have it worse. It says online that it can happen after a pregnancy. Praying for you guys and I really hope the doctors can figure it all out.
I can relate! I have had to take iron supplements since my pregnancies! and still do at 60! often felt dizzy and had to put my head down between my legs till I felt better. As far as shaky legs my sister went through a similar situation post partum. there was still some remaining sac left inside her a d it made her legs shake too, thus happened after she was already home. Plus yall have had sooo much going on, give that girl a break! !! love yall! praying for you! take it easy! let yourself recover!😊
Also, my father had similar issues a couple years ago. He is taking blood thinners and he passed out and fell in the shower. We took him in to emergency and they said his hemoglobin was so low low he needed blood transfusions. They put him through every test to find the cause and found nothing. They stated they thought it was too much blood thinning medication and he stopped taking one of them. So far, no more incidents. Don't know if this helps in anyway. Hope you are better soon.
Please never wait to call 911!!! So much can happen so so fast. My family almost lost me due to a brain aneurysm. Thank God, my husband called 911 immediately after I told him I was in severe pain! Minutes count! EMT'S said he saved me by making that call so quickly. Praying for you Carlin! Hang in there you guys!
I am praying so hard for you all. I am praying wisdom from doctors and healing. Carlin you are such a string mama and your family videos have encouraged me so much. I am praying for you all and what a beautiful love Evan has for you. God bless yall.
I have been going through the exact same thing, only difference is I am definitely not postpartum, lol. I wore a heart monitor for 2 weeks, it showed frequent PVC's. I am now on a beta blocker and seeing a cardiologist next week. Good luck figuring out what is going on!
Allyssa had Supraventricular tachycardia and it’s not congenital it can happen to anyone anytime. An extra pathway grows they have to go and burn out. They would of seen it during labour.
I am sorry your going through this!!! I am praying for Carlin and the doctors to have the wisdom to find what the problem is and that its a easy fix!!! Praying God heals you and keeps you safe!!! And your whole family!! 🙏 💗
Saw this video late tonight and heading into 🙏time soon. Definitely will say more prayers for Carlin and you too Evan. I have some very weird conditions and one is still not fully known. Because of it (best described as stiff person syndrome) I FULLY understand the fear Carlin shared about having no control over her body. The pain, shaking, spasms...It IS scary. I've been dealing with my progressing issue for 20 years. Certain episodes scare me, and my recent was while teaching an religion class to 6th graders. Carlin, with your beautiful big family and a sister who is a nurse and their help and prayers, may your answer come swiftly so you can take care of your precious children. Added thoughts, since all tests but hemoglobin seemed okay, more testing and a close eye is needed. My younger sister, when pregnant and shortly after a few times,, was passing out. They put in a pacemaker because they discovered her heart would stop. briefly but very randomly. I've had infusions of iron thru an IV to get hemoglobin up. The many times I was brought into an ER completely rigid (couldn't move from waist down) all my tests were fine. I'm still not. I share that only to say it is okay to push for more and get different medical opinions. A functional medicine doctor might be great if this continues and you aren't getting answers. May your be covered in Jesus's healing love!!
I'm so sorry that you're going through such a scary time! Please call 911 right away if it happens again! I'm praying that you can find out what's causing the problem, and that it can be cured or managed to keep you safe. As much as you want to be at the wedding, your health and saftey are much more important.🙏❤
ALWAYS CALL 911 - its so easy to say after the fact that 'we should have called 911'. it could be so many things, from a TIA to blood pressure. I hope you have found some reason for this now as it is a week later. Prayers are being sent all the way from Australia for all of you and the doctors looking for what has happened and hopefully tended to by now. xxx
Right. They could be on their way if her heart actually stopped. If they get there and everything is fine, they do not have to take you to the hospital. My baby quit breathing for a minute once, and the ambulance came. They checked him over and he was fine. They suggested we stay home and go see the doctor the next day, so that's what we did, but if I hadn't called and he didn't start breathing again, I would have been so sorry.
It’s hard to believe those other girls didn’t know to call 911 when she passed out. I’m a stranger watching Carlin on IG and thinking she looks horribly exhausted and pale…and to pass out !!?? Good grief.
Sending Prayers 🙏🙏🙏. Just listen to your body. I survived an brain aneurysm and I have to listen to my body over what I really want to do. I know when I can do things and when I can't because I listen to my body. Keep up with the doctors and don't stop until you get answers!
