I love both, to my nose, Layton Exclusif smells spicier and Layton more sweet, I can see myself wearing both. Carlisle smells awesome! Is one of those scents that made me dig my nose into my arm when I first sprayed it. The only 2 fragrances that made me do this was YSL La Nuit De L'homme and Carlisle. I own 2 YSL bottles from 2013 the dry down is pure gold. But as you said, it's only for cold weather. Currently I only own Layton from PDM, and a couple of samples. My next purchases this year with be Percival, Sedley and Carlisle Percival for the spring. Sedley for the high heat summer days. Carlisle for the winter. I also like Greenley and Layton Exclusif, but I don't plan to buy them in the near future.
At this rate I think Carslisle, especially after it's shed its boutique exclusivity, might become something of a modern day Aventus where the hype overwhelms how good it is. I say that with my bottle of Carslisle on the way.
This is the best review on Carlisle ❤, if you are living in Asean country, there is a typical herb medicine oil Asean people use smell 50% exactly like opening of Carlisle. This effects of the smell after the oil is rubbing to the skin.
I know this is a video about PDM's Layton Exclusif vs Carlisle, but I've Benn curious about Bond No 9 Signature and I would love to hear your thoughts on that particular fragrance. Easy to wear, but different at the same time. I think you would enjoy it and I know many other people love it. It has the potential to be one of your pound town galore fragrances.
Layton Exclusif and Carlisle both get major compliments for me but Layton Exclusif is better to me by far as a 32 year old man. I wear Layton Exclusif in the high heat in New Orleans and it has people grabbing on me

how many people did you kill ?? both are crazy projectors, beast mode..I have both..cant hardly imagine adding anything to Naxos on my skin..I play hockey for fun and all the guys on ice tell me whole god damn ice smells like my Naxos :)..after 1 !! spray
Melissa. I have gotten about 30+ sample like 10ml colognes. Id have to say this. Side Effect is INSANE good. I cant stop smelling my arm. Mind you I also have Herod, TF Oud Wood, Carlisle, Layton, and other tops. Also Babylon is almost a tie. Its subtle spicy soft wood that is rather appealing. Babylon reminds me of Side Effect too but no tobacco
@@ManettiAngelo Im amused. I have Egyptian Smoke. There is rose in it but it is subtle and makes it semi sweet. But im drawing the line on it bc its fem leaning. My colognes tend to be warm (Moroccan Amber), not too strong or spicey. I have 10% bottles as citrus fresh type. I have both Pegasus Exclusif and High Frequency. These i lean to as fresh

Between Layton Exclusif and Pegasus Exclusif I personally enjoy that Exclusif DNA more on Pegasus Exclusif, it’s also garnered me positive reactions even from non fragrance enthusiasts. Can’t wait for the cooler months to roll in so I can put Oajan, Pegasus Exclusif, and Carlisle back in my fragrance rotation!
I personally feel you should hold off on purchasing Oajan as your first bottle given that it’s more of a specific scent that shines during the winter holiday season. look into purchasing either Pegasus Ex or Carlisle first since either can be pulled off on more ocassions. Go with Carlisle if your looking for a more dark alluring scent that can be pulled off any cool evening out Pegasus Exclusif is a bit more easier to wear than Carlisle but you would have to be a fan of vanilla/almond note since it’s definitely something that’s picked up during the wear of the fragrance. Definitely consider purchasing atleast 2ML decants before committing to a full bottle on any trusted decant site! Hope this helps
I also like Carlisle a lot, but don't have a full bottle yet. I recently bought Habdan, and even though I don't hear much talk about it, I love it. I like Ojan a lot, too. Do you like Hadan?
I’ve been wanting to try Layton Exclusif but haven’t had a chance yet. However I have and Love Layton and Carlisle. I also have Pegasus Exclusif which is magical as well. I’ve heard there are some similarities between PE and LE in the dry down so unsure if there would be some redundancy to own both PE and LE. Huge fan of PdM for Fall/Winter fragrances though! Oajan is also great!

@@Ry-xr4ce personally I think it’s a more mature fragrance. So it would depend on the teen and their personality. With that said, at the end of the day, if your teen loves the scent, wear it! :)
i have both PE and LE-the initial opening might be similar, but my nose picks up on original DNA of each as they’re drying down. so simply put, they come in at the same time but leave a different impression 🤣 if that makes sense.

I think I like it more than Layton, & it's on my to-buy list. But while researching on it, some people mentioned new Carlisle batches been re-made, and now performance not as good. You're anosmic to it. My Carlisle is new batches and is beast mode, I thought the same thing because I don't smell it that strong, but is because I was anosmic.
I just bought a discovery set from parfums de marly and most of them from first spray were very off putting until they dried on skin and the scent got better but not that much that I’d run and buy it. Is this a normal reaction for someone that’s trying niche fragrances for the first time to have? The only ones that I really liked were percival, Pegasus, and I’m coming around to enjoying Herod.
Same but I liked layton and layton exclusif the best then greenley then sedley Percival okay. Carlisle the worst Pegasus and herod not so good but all are noses are different the only 2 manly ones to me are the laytons but in my opinion
As someone who has tried both Layton and Layton Exclusif, I have to say I just can’t get over the Vicks Vapor Rub smell. Most people cant smell it, but for me, I always smell it and its so annoying. Esoecially because I do find both fragrances to be very nice. It’s more prominent in Layton but in Layton Exclusif, it’s still there but more subtle. Now Carlisle..it's a staple in my fall and winter rotation. And that dry down is just incredible. And it last FOREVER
What I do is I actually spray carlisle from de marly on my skin until my skin really brings out the best in it and then I spray tuxedo from ysl on my clothes
Lmao! I love this. I literally had Layton Exclusif in the cart and I came across this video. It felt like a solid friend was letting me know exactly how it is. So I replaced it with Carlisle and will officially be my 1st PDM bottle. 👏🏽😁
The funny thing is that I had the choice between the 2-- I sampled Carslile and Layton exclusif-- they had shown up for wholesaler prices on Canadian Costco. my wife likes Carslile, and I like it too. But after finishing my layton exclusif, I wish I had gotten it instead. It's amazing, and has longevity that carslile doesn't. The other piece is that I also own Herod-- too much overlap between Herod and Carslile for me. I'll grab up Layton Exclusif the next time I have the disposable income and it's at a good price.
@@TehDarkPrince exactly. Herod and Carlisle are brothers with Carlisle being the louder of the two. As much as I love Herod I will always pick Carlisle as it has the same smell, better projection, and better longevity. Layton Exclusif I love tremendously. As far as PDM goes when I want to smell sexy I wear Herod. When I want to smell like a sexy boss I wear Carlisle. When I want to smell like a boss, I wear Layton Exclusif.
This fragrance smells very similar to Tom ford Oud wood, since I have oud wood I don’t see the point of getting Carlisle, good fragrance but it’s a no for me.
Can’t help but your content / selection is quite similar to my taste. I’m just wonder about Carlisle and wonder because it seems similar to Layton Ex. Might add Carlisle to the list.
Good reviews but I’ve learned to take your opinions with a huge grain of salt, as a guy. Layton exclusif is much better and is a compliment monster for me, of course it won’t work as well for a woman as it is very masculine
carlisle’s opening smelled strong like hennessy but after 5 minutes it turned into a master piece, i don’t really get beast mode performance but maybe i just go nose blind to it
Some people say that Carlisle smells like a combination of Layton and Herod.. I spoke to a brand ambassador for PDM and she disagreed.. She said Carlisle is it’s on thing .. What are your thoughts?
Unoriginal? Carlisle was released before Layton. At best layton copied Carlisle DNA, yet I do not think they're similar, botj are doing their own thing.
I found carlisle are far better from smell department. Layton exclusive, i don't know, many of youtuber put it on their hollygrail of fragrances. But still, carlisle i found are far far better and far far sophisticating. Thank's for you honest opinion....
For me layton exclusif, not even close. Carlisle smells like a burned chimney with a rotten, sour apple in it. Horrible fragrance. Most women i know totally dislike it too.
Layton exclusif was originally released as a Middle East exclusive for a year. before it was released everywhere. so yeah it was targeted for the shaykh in Dubai & Saudi hahaha

@@amaterasublack3519 my Carlisle is beast mode. You will go anosmic to it quick, that's if you can't smell it. I smell it on me all day whenever I wear it. On clothes the smell stays until I wash my clothes.
@@amaterasublack3519 but all my PDMs Carlisle is my last choice. Kalan is my favorite, Haltane is my 2nd favorite smells 1000 times better than Carlisle, Herod 3rd and Layton 4th, and Percival I love it but since is not unique is on my 5th favorite
Would Carlisle smell too masculine on a feminine woman? I mean would someone wonder why she is wearing such a masculine fragramce or would people think “wow she smells good” I’m curious because most of the people in the comments are men. I’m a woman and I want to buy it
