All these older tennis legends looking and staying so trim and fit! No bulging stomachs there!! As for the comments by Ferrero, says so much that Carlos doesn't have to play his best tennis to win a GS. It's scary to think what he can accomplish if he can keep his focus and effort. Congrats to him and his team!!

His real threat was Sinner, after he won, he knew he was going to be Zverev, so he didn't want to finish Zverev off, so he toyed around him for a little bit.
@loganthewolverine2030

That's not quite what he said. He said he needs to be more patient, and stay at a high mental level of focus rather than trying to play highlight reel shots all the time but then go mentally up and down. There was only one guy who could play highlight reel tennis all the time, and Carlos has said he has always wanted to play like like him, but this is not the Spanish style of tennis which is more around high levels of mental concentration and never dropping the level (think Ferrer, Bautista Agut, Nadal and co.)

I like Nadal. I like Alcaraz now because it reminds me a lot of Nadal because of his mental toughness, for his determination to win and for fighting to the end…tenacious. I find Alcaraz exciting and wonderful to watch. He has unbelievable tricks and he is very creative but he’s also quite a bit inconsistent as compared to Sinner. Sinner on the other hand is very solid in baseline, like I said more consistent and likable but he needs to put more variety, he needs to take more risks. He’s quite comfortable on get he is doing but sometimes it is just not enough. Both spectacular. Alcaraz as a dangerous player but Sinner to me has more potential to stay at the top only if he continues to grow and improve.

Whose game does Carlos Alcaraz most emulate? It's my humble opinion that Carlos's game is a blend of Nadal's physicality and Djokovic's movement. Carlos doesn't reflect Federer to me. Federer, like Edberg before him, was a ballet dancer on the court. Every move efficient, elegant, and seemingly effortless. Carlos is not this type of player. No one currently is. Like Becker and Rafter, because their games were so physical, I didn't think Nadal's career would be as long as it was. He proved me wrong. Alcaraz had growing pains. He cramped up during matches. These days might be behind him but only time will tell. In order for Alcaraz to have a long career he must prioritize conditioning above everything else. Only he knows what his body needs to perform at peek performance for the next decade. Congrats on his French Open win 2024!
@tothelighthouse9843
@tothelighthouse9843 21 день назад
I actually def think there are echoes of Federer in Carlos' game--Carlos even talked about Fed being his favourite player when he was younger. The obvious echo is the aggressive, first-strike mindset. Federer & now Carlos both look to control the match thru aggressive play. They pounce on tiny opportunities without hesitating, including moving to the net. They rely on different strengths to close out points, but they're both aggressive pouncers, lol. Absolutely, Carlos' tennis IQ & the way he uses variety are right out of the Fed playbook. Federer had a game plan & a preferred style of play but he was constantly changing things up during a match if his style wasn't winning. He played that player that day, & could find weaknesses & solutions even when his own game wasn't firing on all cylinders. Carlos brings that same ingenuity & variety, as was on display today when he got a billion free points from Zverev using moonballs & variety of pace. Carlos' use of bh slice, esp last year at Queens & Wimbledon, is another example of how he relies on all-court variety like Fed did. The net is also back in the game, thanks to Carlos, & that's another echo of Federer's game. Federer was one of the best dropshotters ever (which is why he won so consistently on grass & clay), & with 18 months on tour Carlos changed how EVERY GUY ON TOUR plays thanks to his effective re-introduction of the drop shot. Carlos is so confident with his dropshot he'll literally pull opponents to the net so he can follow up with a lob. Super-effective, & given that Roger was definitely an all-court player I bet he'd applaud the way Carlos uses the whole court to disrupt baseline hitters. Additionally, I think Carlos is already using Fed's overall approach to serving as his model. Using a surgeon's accuracy to hit his spots, an almost perfect serve motion that he replicated every time, & variety in his serves, Fed was able to produce one of the top 10 greatest serves in the game without overwhelming power & speed. I think that's clearly the trajectory Carlos is on: Carlos doesn't have the height to consistently send bullets down the court so he, like Fed, will rely on deadly accuracy, consistency & unpredictability. Finally, I think Carlos brings the same je ne sais quoi that Federer brought to the game--the thing that makes Federer a legend & favourite in a way Djokovic & Nadal will never eclipse. It's about the thrill of watching Federer play, even when he lost. When Roger was on court you couldn't take your eyes off him--he made tennis glorious--& I think Carlos brings that same specialness with him when he steps on the court. They're special for different reasons (grace vs speed) but to me it's like Carlos fell in love with Roger's game the way the rest of us did, & said to himself "I want to be that special".

@julianperez7917 It's noble of you to defend your countryman, however, in the world's biggest stages in one's professional career, an athlete should learn to speak proper English. They don't necessarily need to be so fluent, but basic understandable English is a must! It'll only help them further in their career and gain more followers. English is not Djokovic's 1st language either, but his English has improved over the years and can even speak many other languages also. Sinner and Medvedev are Italian and Russian, but they both have good command of English to express themselves properly. I'm a big fan of Carlos....just saying that he could be better in speaking and improving.

Third just meditate and be mentally stronger because you have to cope with awful feeling many more times as CARLITOS will smack your favourite player in future also. Fourth nadal won fair amd square in roland garros 2013. Don't need to take up 11 years old event because by this logic djokovic was lucky to AO 2012. Remember nadal 4-2 up in 5th set and missed that easy backhand at 30-15 serving. So just cope with it otherwise continue crying like a looser😂😂
