Outfielder Carlos Gomez hopped on the mound to pitch and gave up three runs in the Rays' 15-5 loss to the Orioles in Baltimore

I think he could touch legit 97 if he had 2 days of a pitching coach to find his arm slot and his legs. The guy has a great if for nothing else just straight gas lol... Even without location

mallexjansen Lmfao not 97 by a long shot. He'd have greater accuracy, but he's still got shit arm action since he's an outfielder. As someone with 16 years and counting of baseball experience, I can tell you that is full effort throwing. Whenever someone's unable to keep their head still and it wiggles after they throw, that's a 100% effort throw. He's lucky he didn't injure his arm since position players aren't used to multiple 100% effort throws in succession.

If you're gonna have a position player pitch, at least make sure they know how to. I'm sure Gomez could do better if he knew how, but he had no idea how not to balk. He also short-armed the ball a ton.

I knew gomez could hit 90. When he was with the twins he had an amazing arm. Hes got a solid 5-10 mph he could add. Hes got horrible mechanics and arm actio but an incredible natural arm.
