Don't forget Alvarez is only 22 years old. Even Yadier Molina & Yogi Berra had their growing pains. Give the kid a break. He's a future Super star catcher.
Really like @Marcus comment. Complimentary to your point, can't ignore fact that catchers position is super-complicated. And anyway, ALL youngsters gotta go thru growing-pains.
The walks and base running between pitches carousel shaved months off my life. From Diaz inability to even develop ANY move or fake to keep a runner close and Alvarez high school, college, and all forms of minor/ major league coaches allowing him NEVER to block ball in dirt made me completely sick to my stomach.
MOTY should be considered a lock for Mendoza! If he's not selected this year, then the voting committee screwed up! And I'm not being biased just becaus I'm a lifelong Mets fan.
MENDOZA TALK TO THE AWESOME AMAZING MIGHTY METS MACHINE TEAM OF THE 1973 NEW YORK METS TEAM... THEY DID IT AND WERE NOT AS POTENTIAL AS YOU GUYS OF 2024... B E L I E V E ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️BASEBALL IS AWESOME 🙂😉😁🙏
I agree about Butto pulled after only one inning. He's my #1 set-up/long reliever. Btw, just b'cuz things worked out ok, doesn't necessarily mean it was the wisest decision. But I feel conflicted about the validity of criticizing the guy managing irt on the field.
@@alexanderwallerstein4324 Yup. I had no confidence in the 9th with Diaz in his second inning. Lord knows, the Phillies came thisclose to tying the game or taking the lead. Maton and Diaz get two, but Butto only one? Butto is used to throwing multiple innings. Plus he looked dominant in the 7th. But hey, it worked.
I think Mendoza pulls all the starters too early. Causing along and don't let start next inning, don't get it, especially low 80s pitches. Like he afraid to let pitchers throw 100 pitches.
@@Jqueens93 kept butto in for the 8th to keep Diaz’s pitch count lower bc he pitched the night before. 47 pitches in 2 nights as a closer is a lot…but I forgot we have the day off today so it’s not the end of the world
