I have been listening to his music for 50 years and I have come to the conclusion that Carlos Santana is not only a great Mexican and American musician who has pioneered an innovative fusion of rock and Latin American music. In my opinion Carlos is an exceptional person: he has an extraordinary talent for creativity and self-expression, like many other famous writers, poets, actors, singers and musicians. He is positive, vital, optimistic and passionate. I feel that the warm and vital energy that he transmits with his music is born within him and is heated in the universe to give serenity and joy to those who listen to it. Heartfelt thanks Carlos

I lived behind an iron curtain so Carlos with his music in 70's was available mainly in Radio Luxembourg. Youngsters never understand. Carlos, Saludos, eres genial. McLaughlin should be in the rock hall for as much influence he's had not only on jazz, but also rock & roll.

I grew up as a 3rd generation San Franciscan . My grandparents lived in the mission district . My twin. N I dated n went to junior high n high school with Neil Schon in San Mateo . He was indoctrinated into Santana at 15 .🤙🤩 I was asked to create the Abraxes Album as an up n owing Artis at 14 but I declined 😱😭 John Mc G. Mahaveshnu Orchestra were my highlights growing up .

I've also grew up listening to his music and to this day I listen to his music, he's awesome ❤

I feel emotional about this greatness. The length of his career doing his version of the afro-Cuban sound. Is that progressive rock? It was. Now it's Montreux Jazz Festival. On top of that, I invited my widowed mother to her one and only rock concert in I think it was 1982. Santana at Pine Knob on the lawn. She and Dad used to dance to a cover of Evil Ways at the local bar.

Just a few minutes in - Mr Santana still has it after all these years. And he's got some great backup musicians - key board is fantastic! Go, Carlos! Old don't mean you lost it...

That organ-player is a lot sounding like the great Greg Rolie the original organist with Carlos in the 60's and beyond, but he even does things even beyond Rolie (Rolie, is great though), I can see that he is schooled in blues and JAZZ! Amazing! And the band: Wow! They are putting 100+% into the music-INCREDIBLE!!

I saw John with Paco de Lucia & AL DE Meola just the 3 on acoustics in New Orleans Sanger Theater in '80 - '81....serious stuff. These guys live, eat, sleep with their guitars! I grew up on this music, and it's always been a fave, going all the way back to the first studio record (with the lion). I have to say I liked the earlier and rougher stuff better (if you like this music look up Santana at Tanglewood - the original band with Mike Shrieve, Gregg Rolie, etc. etc.), but the man has not lost one bit of quickness and talent after all this time. Remarkable.

Escuchando a Santana hoy es este video que no lo conocía si a él desde sus orígenes me vienen 2 recuerdos diferentes pero que a mi me hacen un poco sentido el tema Tequila recuerdo un músico en los finales de los años 60 llamado Herb Harper sino me equivocó que tenía una canción que decía esa palabra donde l escuché por primera vez (en mi país en esos años se tomaba otra bebida) y aunque parezca raro quien me regaló el primer LP fue mi papá no tengo ni lo había escuchado antes pues no recuerdo a el escuchando música y fue una gran sorpresa porque parece adivino mi gusto (vivíamos en países diferentes) y eso pasó como 50 años atrás y por supuesto muy buenos recuerdos de esa época y la música también tanto en inglés como español, fue un despertar y no ha sido superada por supuesto hay cantantes y músicos muy buenos más jóvenes son los menos me refiero a una gran cantidad una generación completa que cambió el curso de la música en general
