Honestly, I had been waiting for a death like this when this first aired. They're so used to fighting the saviors and dying to humans that they forgot that walkers are still dangerous. Carl got too comfortable, and it ended up with him getting bit. I dont think we had seen anybody die to walkers since the horde at the start of season 6 at this point (unless you count the couple oddball walker kills on saviors when Rick's army used them against them.)

the choice of killing carl was yes a mistake becouse he had big potential, but it was realistic and written perfectly, he got too comfortable and let his guard down and thats what rick always told him not to do, and also becouse the walker came from his blind side. his death gave rick his two highest peak with my mercy and dear carl.

I know it’s going to be a controversial opinion, but I liked this moment in the show. It was a drastic change from the comics and really cemented the idea that no one was safe, not even the main characters. I like changes like this because, as a comic reader, I genuinely couldn’t guess what would happen next. It gave us some amazing stories and things that wouldn’t have happened had Carl stayed on the show.

This death killed the show for me. I was like what's the point because I knew how the comics ended.

Andrew Lincoln is suuuuuuch a great actor I really didn't like Carl very much, he got so annoying most of the time, but knowing what he meant to his family made this so much sadder and the great acting. When Carl got shot in his face and Rick says his name, such a heart-breaking moment

Take a look at Homelander, and Stan Edgar in the boys, those scenes are awesome scenes to analyse. Edgar who is a man who possesses no superpowers can intimidate, and control the world's most powerful super-human. Also, I would love to see you just react to just solely Homelander.

I get why people disagree with the choice to kill Carl, but the way it is handled in the show is perfect. One of the best scenes of The Walking Dead.

The biggest mistake in show writing history imo. All other deaths were shocking. but Carl's just felt wrong.

I'll admit that I skipped past this video a few times. I avoided it, as it was one of the hardest deaths for me on the show and caused me significant levels of stress. I'm not going to whine about how the death affected the show or how wrong it was, as, though the negative aspects are true, it's been emphasized to death. I do appreciate how well-acted and, frankly, realistic it was. Like someone else stated, Carl got too complacent and paid the price for it. Very realistic for the times they lived in. The walkers are often seen as a minimal threat, especially as our characters adapted more to them. But if you take them for granted, they can end you one day. Well done video, as always.

The Writers failed Carl.

People acted like Carl dying was the end of the world (some still do) and then the show proved them wrong almost immediately by revamping the writing and going uphill from here. Get over it already, those of yall who haven't.
