Magnus really tried to lose this game but Hans is just not strong enough when playing unassisted. I know Hans is cheating because he has a higher winrate with black in classical chess.

11:45 you talked about a winning move which Magnus missed... please make another video with exact this position and show the winning move as i reach this position lots of times during blitzgames because i play each day about 20 or more such games.. thanks for your work.. greetings from switzerland

The moves is Ra6 -- the goal is to eliminated the checkmate threat on g2 at all costs so that if hxg5 -- then Nxg5 is possible. I wish I could cover all these lines in the video -- but unfortunately many of my viewers would get restless if I made a video long enough to do so. Do you have a chess engine you can analyse with?

Thank you everyone for your support! I appreciate all kind words and insights -- as for the criticisms (of which I am sure are all meant to be constructive), please keep in mind that generally speaking, my policy is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" -- which means that I am going to be very hesitant to make any major changes to my content right now, although I will continue to make small tweaks here and there, when its something that I feel certain will appeal to most viewers.

Thanks for the comments and I appreciate the analysis, drawing my attention to an important try for black -- I wish I had time to cover all the relevant variations, but unfortunately, sometimes I have to just trust that the viewer will realize that I am using Stockfish (an unfortunate essential for high quality analysis) -- which says that 28. N3e4 is best, since after 28...d5 there is 29.Qh5 (threatening mate on h7) and here are a couple sample continuations: 29...h6 (29...Qh6 30.Qf7+ Kh8 31.Qxe8 Rxe8 32.Nf7+) 30.f6 d4 31.Qg6 hxg5 32.f7+ Kh8 33.Qh5+ Qh6 34.fxe8Q

12:37 i must disagree again... QxPg2 will force white to exchange the quenns.. after BxQg2 white must eliminate the Bishop,, black will give a minor piece back and get a second pawn for it after Knight takes Pb2.. Also the attacked Bishop on b7 can be defended with the rook so the rook would take back instead of the quenn
@squareonechess6939
@squareonechess6939 День назад
Thanks for these interesting ideas -- after Nxb2, Stockfish says black is totally lost (+1.75 for white) if white plays Kf3 -- it seems the white king is too active and d6 will be targetted and problematic to defend.... in your other line, if the rook immediately defends with Rb8, then black has Nxg7! Bxg7 and f6 -- now if black tries Qxg2 then Qxg2 Bxg2 fails to f7+ -- again all courtesy of Stockfish :)

I do not understand the appeal of Carlsen. Yeah, he has some brilliant games, but many, many are just lengthy grindy grinds where tenacity more than talent or technique decides. Also, why do so few remember that he didn't beat Karjakin OR Caruana in their classic time control world championship matches? Sure, I understand the rules (eg rapid, blitz, armageddon playoffs) were known and agreed to beforehand, but Carlsen could not win these WC matches with classic time controls. (lesser rant: this is chess, not explosive ordinance disposal. 12 games?? The WC match should be maybe best of 40 games. If tied, then followed by 800 more until someone wins by 2 or quits to pursue career in mah jong.) And he abandoned the chess WC title to play poker?? What's the upside to be a Carlsen fanboi?

@jameswisslead4533 16 часов назад
@MasDingos I'm taking the word of the experts here, they all share consensus on this. The two players you claimed he couldn't beat? They agree as well, I don't know how many chances he got to play Karjakin again, but he has a winning record against Fabi. But you don't have to like him or agree. What's the upside to being a Hans fanboi???
