She SHOULD win because she the only singer left who can sing ANYTHING, like the first Idol- Kelly Clarkson. She could sing any song with anyone. That is what makes a career.
This girl CAN sing. She has the best voice in the competition. There isn't even a comparison between her and the rest. She can sing anything unlike the rest. Too bad the pressure is getting into her and she's not doing as great as she should be live. If the competition was about the best voice, she should already be crowned the winner, but in reality, it's a popularity contest. I don't see her winning with the two Davids around. I hope she makes it to top 3 at least.
The fix was in. There is no doubt about it in my mind. Smithson is easily a more powerful presence vocally than the outcome of American Idol suggests. Life has a way of evening out over time. I am curious to see how well Carly's talent works for her in relation to her counterparts over time. I think she has a bright future.
I thought she handled the pressure as well or better than anyone. The pressure is there you cannot deny it with 20+ million people watching and Simon waiting with a nasty quip at the end of every performance. I thought everything she did was fantastic. I agree she was head and shoulders above the competition but she was clearly involved with this show for national exposure. She wasn't cast to win, it is simple as that or Simon would have never said the things that he did.
the judges had an agenda, build up the davids at any cost and carly was a bump in the road to a dueling david finale. you really do not have to dig any deeper than that.
The fact is that she is there, was cast on this show, as a big voice belter. And if she is smart she doesn't get cute and try to recast herself. She belts because that is her job! All her studio versions are toned down without the belting. I don't like this as much as the show version, well I like its completeness. It is very good but lacks the "fire in the belly" aspect the live version brings. Just my preference. She is fantastic though!
It is a subtle form of spamming where "other Idol" fans come over and talk about their favorites in the hope that someone will get interested enough to check out the "competition", I use that word rather loosely there. Another favorite is to post that they "used to be a Carly fan" but this performance is so bad that they have turned their backs on her. Silly stuff. Bottom line: Carly rocks!
i've heard this version, moulin rouges version, and covers, but i wont ever listen to the original. Why? because the original doesn't make this song anymore awesome than the fact that it's awesome and I know it. Plus, I'm not a Queen fan, I can appreciate they wrote and made the song and the music foundation for it, but I'm not going to listen to Queen's version
and I highly doubt Angels has anything to do with Iguana Archuleta...As a matter of fact, none of the songs they sing have anything to do with them. So there, statement invalidated.
You mean lil' Archie isn't an Angel? Boo hoo! Seriously, this studio recording has a couple things going for it, first, it has all the lyrics and is complete. Secondly, Carly doesn't get wrapped up in trying to add extra to the glory notes in studio, like she is wont to do on the Idol stage. That is what the show is about, to some extent, so I don't blame her. And finally, she messed up the end of the live one a bit.
