“When people assume that you're one way and you're not that way at all, it's hard. Everyone has different layers to who they are.” -Carmen Electra … watch my Mayte video next: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pxEnhUVF7j8.html
Yes, Prince fans knew of Carmen first through him. Also, in the mix of Carmen/Mayte was Nona Gaye; whom Prince was engaged to and was with for 3 years. Do video on Nona, please. She's a very talented person.
Some friends of mine have worked in nightlife and event production for over 20 years, and they said Carmen Electra is one of the most hard-working, kind, and down-to-earth people in the game. She is legit disciplined and professional, despite her sex bomb image.
I think Carmen was not taken seriously; she is so underated. I think she would have been a great actress in real, serious movies, if given the chance. Hollywood wants beauty but hardly takes beauty seriously.
I just think that men who have access to lots of beautiful women have a tendency to feel that they can't turn them down! Almost like they have an obligation to fully utilize all of their options.
@@zukini8763 I think men "fully utilizing all of their options" pretty much makes the case for them being predators rather than collaborators. Prince was certainly no collaborator - more like a dictator.
I knew about Carmen Electra and Prince. I was unaware that she lost her mother and sister in such a short span between each other. She still looks great!🎉❤
The 90s for me were so amazing because there was variety in music, in television; in models you name it. I can't quite describe it other than it being a decadent time. Carmen was and Is that Girl!
She is just so beautiful. I knew about her relationships with Dennis Rodman ,Prince & Dave Navarro. I did not know about her relationships with Rob Patterson & Simom Cowell which btw her being with Simon just seemed the most random to me lol. Out of all the guys she's dated I thought her and Dave were perfect together imo. I loved their reality show on mtv ❤.
I have been on a Carmen Electra kick for days now (after being a fan of hers since I was a little girl in the incredible 90s)! This feels so timely. Carmen (Tara) is truly and still, one of the most beautiful women in the entire world. 🖤
Carmen Electra is so versatile...some pics she looks like a young Paula Abdul, then some angles she looks like a young Claudia Jordan & some pics,a young Denise Richards. She oozes sex appeal without trying.❤
Yes, Carmen Electra one of the hottest 90's girls. Prince gave her the name and she did an album on his record label. She dated some wild guys. Lol. Baywatch was that show in the 90's. She was and is still beautiful. 💜
I definitely own and wear her perfume! I purchased her book, How to be Sexy years ago and was saddened after losing it in a move. I need to buy another copy. So moved that she supports Parkinson's Disease charity...that is the condition my beloved Mother suffered and Died with. I sadly relate to the loss of a beloved Sister and Mother and fervently appreciate Carmen Electra being open in the past about grief and coping (sometimes poorly, but coping). 💔 Carmen Electra possesses a beautiful Soul to match her exterior beauty.
I always thought of her from that MTV show, Singled out. Jenny McCarthy did that show too. As an elder millennial, I remember her dating both Navarro and famously Denis Rodman, and she and Rodman’s provocative gender bending ad campaigns. They were on fire!
Carmen was one of the three women who Prince was dating in the 90’s along with Nona Gaye and Mayte Garcia all at the same time quite the love triangle but I just wish that she would acknowledge and credit Robin Power too (another Prince ex girlfriend) for actually bringing her to meet Prince without Robin Power discovering her on the dance floor I don’t know if she would have met Prince that’s just the truth though lol
@15:35: in addition to scary movie 4, she was in the very beginning of the first Scary Movie. In fact, she made a hilarious joke about her and Prince's relationship in that scene.
I think I’m shocked you didn’t know about her and prince- but you probably didn’t see the first scary movie where they made a joke about their relationship.
Carmen confirmed that Prince wrote his song “Eye Hate U” about her. (It’s up in the air if she cheated with Tony who was a rapper in the New Power Generation). If anyone has listened to that song….Lordy 😅
Karine- Would you please do a story on Tatum O'Neal, there's so much to be told. Poor thing has now suffered a stroke and is trying to regain her full speech. 😢
Can you do a video on Ruth brown? She was considered Queen of R&B in hee time. She was a trail blazer who many do not know. I just found out about her and was amazed. Her energy was everything
Interesting that my FAVORITE movie with the GREAT Dorothy Dandridge influenced Prince to transform Tara Patrick into brunette bombshell Carmen Electra. Still BEAUTIFUL to this day. But, I wish she'd acknowledge Robin Power (another one of Prince's MANY beautiful exes) who introduced her to the GREAT Prince. At least, Carmen can act and dance. Robin threw a little shade when she said at least Carmen's on OnlyFans now. 😅 Scary Movie and Good Burger are my FAVORITES with her. ❤
Yes Prince was inspired by the Carmen Jones movie staring Dorothy Dandrige when he picked out Carmen’s name and now recently she’s saying that she wants to legally change her name to Carmen Electra she hasn’t use her real name in decades
❤Thanks 4 sharing. Didn’t really pay attention until her Dennis Rodham era… Epic‼️ Prince was truly a prince for getting her started in the music industry & giving her that electrifying name❗️
Lol, I know, right? I think a lot of the time when people have a "beauty secret," it turns out to be just postulation. We know what makes people have less wrinkled skin. It's 1) Sunscreen and/or staying out of the sun. 2) Good skin genes (luck). 3) Proper cleansing and moisturizing. 4) Having enough water and healthy food, though excess water and excess nutrients haven't been proven to help that much. 5) Ingredients like exfoliants, niacin, retinoids, vitamin C, etc. in skincare. 6) Injectables, surgery, other treatments performed in an office by a professional.
I'm a big fan of Carmen! Go go dancer is iconic. I posted an interview she did with howard stern in 2000 and I have a few other interviews she did with him but I didn't think people would still be checking for her so i haven't posted them yet.
❤ I remember when BET (Yes, BET) used to play her video "Everybody get on up" and watching it as a teenager, I thought it was out of place. Now watching it as a middle aged adult, She was pretty good. ❤
I would highly recommend for you to do a video on bibi gaytan from the 90s that woman’s beauty is out of this world like an aztec goddess there’s videos and pictures of her the world needs to know who she is
A lady named Robin Power Royal actually discovered Tara Patrick (Carmen Electra) in a club. She asked Carmen to come with her to audition to be in her band at Prince's house in the Hollywood Hills, the rest is history!
I always thought she was pretty. I read about her dating Prince years ago. I actually loved her with Dave they made a very attractive couple but I'm glad she's happy ❤
Thanks for sharing. I heard about Prince Carmen Electra but I've learned a whole lot more! 💜💜💃🕺❤❤❤ I'm the niece of Legendary George Clinton. Can you do a documentary on my uncle George? 🤘I love your channel, thanks for keeping us updated on celebrities' lives! 🥰😘
If you were under a rock i must have been under the same rock lol i didn't know a lot of the information in this video. You do an amazing job, i love your content and the way you present it. I feel like you present facts with respect in a way that always holds my attention. I am always learning new things from you, I think you have become my absolute favorite RU-vidr. I have been sick and stuck in bed due to some autoimmune issues I have going on and i appreciate you taking my mind off of it while I learn about people I have always found interesting and presented in a way that I really love, keep up your amazing work!!! 😻
Great post! Will there be a video on Rosalind Russell, Vera-Ellen, William Powell, Don Ameche, Edmund Purdom, Billie Holiday, Dick Van Dyke, Dona Drake, Cyd Charisse, or The Nicholas Brothers? Much appreciation to your channel.
❤Heyy my sista, Yes Im very aware of Carmen and the late Prince relationship, I use to watch her reality show as well, It was pretty interesting. Ty for the upload. 🥂TC, Blessings. 🖤🤎
You never did a story about Christina Applegate. I think she is lovely and great dancer, comedian and actress. Also, lovely Sandra Bullock, likeable and sweet Jennifer Aniston... can we have these stories?
Rapping started in the Bronx in the 70s. I'm sure there were lots of women rappers before Debbie came along and copied that style and made a video that got on MTV. Not that she shouldn't necessarily, but she wasn't the first, and she wasn't anything near the best representative of the style.
Exactly. I think he used women for the most part. He wanted to mold them in the image he had for them, not help them in achieving THEIR goals. There are so many men like this in history; it's the "Pygmalion and Galatea" myth come to life. Interestingly, while few Greek myths have happy endings, that one does - because ancient Greece was a patriarchy too, and they wanted to confirm and perpetuate the idea that a man molding a woman into his ideal (and her being grateful to him) was a good thing that resulted in happiness, instead of what we now know it to be - abuse. Women have had to depend on men to "make them" famous for the most part. But I don't give the men credit for this kind of thing, it happens because of sexism. Full credit goes to the women, and my heart goes out to the women whose looks didn't get them noticed and whose talent therefore was ignored. Someday women won't have to rely on often predatory men to "help" them get seen.
Hi Karine 👋🏽, I don’t know if you’ve done a video on these people but if you haven’t already could you do a video on Shirley McLaine & Tatum O’Neal? . I luv ❤ your videos!
i really like Carmen Electra. Red Hearts. I loved the photo with the kitten. I have looked up to her since 1990? Amazing dancer! She has her own talent, and thank you for reminding me of this. I Loved Prine too; Genius. He recognized other Genius. I Love your videos. You're Gorgeous.
Carmen is still my favorite. Shes gorgeous those eyes, ❤ i grew up on her, denise, and pam, but she always seemed fun and caring. Prince knew beauty. Its a shame she never had luck with men, i did love her with dave navarro. She deserved a better career tho I admire how she can make fun of herself and is good in comedy
I remember being 8 yrs old and seeing her music video "Go-Go Dancer" and thought she was so gorgeous. I also used to watch MTV's Singled Out, in which she replaced Jenny McCarthy. It only made sense to bring her onto Baywatch to replace Pam and become the icon she is now.
Ma'am....if you continue to throw around the word "icon", you are participating in misusing the word and lessening the impact of said word. How in the world is Carmen Electra an icon?
As a kid and teenager, I was obsessed with Carmen,Traci Bingham, Pam Anderson, and Yasmine as well. They’re 90’s Bombshell Beauties & OG Bay Watch Babes! That’s crazy they had Carmen wear Pam’s iconic Red Swimsuit.. Honestly why were Baywatch producers so damn cheap? Each actress needs their own Swimsuit smh.. I didn’t know Prince wanted Carmen to be all dolled up, whenever he stopped by her place. Sleeping in your makeup 💄 is so detrimental for your skin. I’m glad she nixed that habit… Prince had high standards for his muses. 😅😂 I almost Forgot Carmen tried Singing and Rapping. Her music was not the best. On the other hand; can’t knock her for trying to branch out in other career endeavors… Thanks for making a deep dive video on Carmen! ❤️💖
I did not know she did ballet. I did know about Prince. I did not know she was involved with Simon Cowel? Ewwee!! I didn't know she rapped! I never got to listen to her music. That's great that she does that philanthropy work.❤
I grew up in Cincy and wanted to get into that school but there was and probably still is a huge wait-list. I didn't want to be famous i just wanted to study the arts. I didn't know she went there. Very sad she left the school that many of us young African Americans in the city wanted to get into so bad. I'm learning so many stars came from the city I grew up in. But although you call her iconic that is not at all what i heard growing up about her. Icons tend to influence and shape culture good or bad and she never actually did that. And I honestly imo don't think shes iconic. But she's beautiful. But it makes me really sad how Prince controlled her. There is nothing good about that. We need to empower women artists without making them slaves 😔.
Respecfully Carmen Electra was one of the few women who broke the boundary of being sexy while also being seen as intelligent and with agency. So yeah she’s iconic because only she controlled her image and carved a 20 year career without anything to do with prince.
One thing I didn't like about Prince he loved the Caucasian woman look. Oh, Chile!!!!! Must Caucasian woman look real different without makeup especially when they get. Chile!!!!!!!!
