Think we all in same boat at the minute the grass is just not getting enough water .. I've had a few regular customers saying leave it for another time... we don't want the rain. But with out it the job gets $@$#ed.... 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️👍👍
I've had similar where customer has gone again advice and done it herself and said her lawn now looks terrible. She went out and bought a cheap electric mower, plugged it in and ploughed through the lawn. Hadn't bothered to read the instructions so hadn't adjusted the cutting height from the lowest setting and so paid the price. She said she called another gardener to put it right, he said the mower was useless and he couldn't do anything with the lawn so she called me! So I toddled along and suggested weed and feed and a good water, so I went back a bit later and treated it and left instruction to keep watering, which she did. The grass came lovely and green and soon needed a trim. I asked to use her mower, adjusted the cutting height and went over no problem. She asked why it wasn't digging into the ground or choking up and making big clumps. So I explained about the height and cutting too short in one go. But as you say, people don't want to let the lawn rest and in the heat we've been having, longer blades shade the roots. Not to say let it grow a foot tall and then scrape it all off in one low cut. And yes it does reflect on the quality of our work if someone hacks everything down to 'make it look nice and tidy'! (sorry, my comment was longer than your video!)
I had one were they would cut the grass when their bored. I had to stop going because like you said, I've got a gardener. I got the blame for the shit cut. I wasn't sure whether they needed a cut or not so I'd turn up and I wasn't needed. Its not worth the hassle.
Hi Mike nice to see you on RU-vid no videos for a while. Yeah not good when customers do things or get someone else because they cant wait. What did you do there that day then? Why is the going back? 👍
join the club mate got a couple of clients at the minute who just won't take my advice 😏 the annoying thing is we want their gardens to look better than they do grrrr 😂
Rant away mate - so bloody annoying when things like this happen. As you say it does reflect bad on the gardener, arhhhhhhhh. Oh well as they say just crack on
