Tips on how to get your drink on without buying the carnival drink package.
Don't buy the carnival drink package until you watch this video. I don't always buy the drink package when I cruise with carnival cruise line. I have been asked how to get your drink on without buying the carnival drink package. Your Don't have to buy the drink package to get lit on your next cruise. Here are some tips that I use to get my drink on when i'm on my carnival cruises without buying the drink package.

Are the bottles from the gift shop super expensive and marked up?

They are marked up...The high end bottles like Ciroc, Grey goose or Hennessey is $89...however they do have cheaper bottles of other brands...I got both of my bottles as gift so it didnt cost me anything...

Skyy Vodka is $75. Yes, that does sound crazy, when you are on land . But out at sea, that’s cheap. You end up with $3 and change per drink and $0 tip! Think about also how when you disembark, you are out of the boat most of the day, but still paying for the drink package that day. Even at $75 a bottle, I think it’s a better deal than the package.

Love your tip about pre-ordering a bottle of alcohol from the Fun Shops. I have cruised several times and never realized that was an option. Planning to order a bottle of Malibu rum for an upcoming cruise and mix with the free fruit juice (on the breakfast buffet) and lemonade. At $85 for the 1 liter bottle of Malibu (which is a huge markup), drinks should be less than $5 +/- each (depending on the strength of the drink). For Carnival, you can take 1 bottle of wine (or champagne) on board at embarkation. If you decide to bring champagne instead of wine, you can get free orange juice from the buffet in the mornings and make yourself mimosas. They only have OJ in the mornings so if you want to have mimosas in the afternoon, you will need to fill up a refillable bottle with OJ and take it back to your cabin mini fridge.

This is a great video Thank you for sharing this good information. My Mom almost 90 and me and my daughter would have to kick out almost $1000 for the drink package. None of us drink like that So your suggestions are " right on" Sista! Even at almost $100 for Patron its better than drink package. Love the tip about Red Frog to kick us off and the happy hours. Really appreciate you and wish you an awesome cruise on The Magic!!!

These were all great tips! I went on a cruise recently and had a hangover the first day and couldn’t even drink the second day, so the drink package was a waste.

I bought the drink package for my upcoming cruise but I am cancelling now. The drinks you mentioned made perfectly good sense to me!!!....Update: We ended up purchasing the drink package and it was a great decision! If you have the money to spare and you drink alcoholic beverages, you won't be disappointed!

Remember to NOT have your cork screw wine opener on your person while flying. Airlines will take it as a weapon. Remember to unpack it with your wine bottle 😂 tape or rubber band them together! Cruising the Vista sail Oct 31.

I loved this. One thing that was mentioned to me is that if you are thinking of eating at the steakhouse, the first night gets you a complimentary bottle of wine. Also, my boyfriend made friends with the juggler and went to all his classes on the ship. The night of the juggler show, he was brought up on stage and given a free bottle of wine for his participation. He made friends with the assistant cruise director who sent a complimentary bottle of wine to our table at formal night. He doesn't drink wine, but I DO. I can't believe I remembered much of that last cruise 😂 with all the wine. Great video. New sub ❤️.

That is true, on the first night at the steakhouse you do receive a complimentary bottle of wine, but what you don't know is that wine is about the cheapest bootleg wine you could possibly drink and its not worth it being free lol... the drink package is totally worth the price. Having a variety of drinks was totally worth it, tequila shots, high end cognac's, mimosas and more.

@@cjeffries7823 We are both military so we don't mind being bottom shelf feeders. 😂 $750 for a 7 day cruise isn't worth it to me. If I want a nice glass of anything, I'll just order it because it will probably be only one. We don't drink $50 a day between the both of us, let alone spending double that for the drink package. We just happened to have free booze fall in our laps and that's how.

I know that when we went, we used the BonVoyage service. It was a long while back, but I know we had to actually call on the phone to purchase the bottles ahead of time. If you're a vodka drinker like myself, I wonder if they allow gatorade mix, as that's my usual alcohol mix nowadays.

What about the specialty coffees, teas, and sodas? And if I’m only on a two or three day cruise, it doesn’t make more sense to get the package given all the other drinks that are included?

My wife and I just happened to wander into their appreciation party for their gold and diamond members on the Panorama. No one checked at the door. They have free drinks - Mai Tia's and things like that. My wife doesn't drink so between the two of us I scored 4. However it's not on the schedule, at least not for the none frequent cruisers, so this was pure luck. They also had a raffle in the jewelry store with free Minmosas - scored a couple of those. Didn't know about the art auction.

i can agree with that, for me and my partner i get the package because even though its expensive...remember that alcahol is not everything that comes with it, specialty coffees, sodas, shakes, frozen drinks, mocktails and more are also included so figure those costs in as well.

I am going on a Carnival cruise in June. The drink package is now $59/day!!! Their policy of having all the adults in the cabin forcefully get the package is the most ridiculous thing ever. There are three adults in our room. Two of us want to get the drink package, the other person is not a drinker. Therefore Carnival is turning down over $800 from us because of this dumb rule. What a great business model. 🙄

Jess Love..Per person over 21. I am solo, but going with my Son and Daughter in law in separate cabins. They don't drink, but they are taking a bottle of wine each for me, and I myself one.... that's 3 bottles for my 7day cruise!!

This video was made before covid.. Carnival has changed there rules a little bit.. You can still bring a bottle of unopened wine with you each adult but you have to carry it on also you can only buy a bottle of liquor and have it your room from the fun shop on cruise 6 days or more.. I just came of the sunrise and I am going to do a updated video

I need the drink package, plus my bottles in the room. I'm there to party and the 15 aren't even close, but it's still cheaper in the long run for me.
