Carnival Luminosa Returns to Australia - What We Are Looking Forward to When We Get Back On Board

After a season in the US, Carnival Luminosa returns to Australian shores on 15th October 2023 for a second Summer season.
Once again, Brisbane will be the home port for the Luminosa and we are excited to welcome her back.
This got us thinking about some of the things that we are looking forward to when we are next on the Luminosa. There were quite a few so we decided to make this video to share our thoughts with you.
So, here we have it. What we are looking forward to most about being back on board the Carnival Luminosa for our New Year cruise holiday.

I'm cruising on luminosa in January for the first time and am madly watching and rewatching all your videos as I like to be organised and know what's what - I find them invaluable for the information contained. Thank you both for your time putting these videos out - it is greatly appreciated. This one popped up today just as I sat down to enjoy a coffee so great timing. Again thank you and happy cruising 🛳

My 3 year old granddaughter danced ever night her first cruise and she’ll have this memory forever lol. I think at first the crew didn’t like this but now they try to out dance each other. Lol 😂

I see you made it in time for Friday - with this video - and because we are subscribed - up it popped right away I will give you a rundown of the spa since we have a package that goes with our Spa Suite - as you asked !! yippee -- 2 sleeps - to go to Sunday's departure. I just hope that with it being just after the arrival from the USA - that they don't run into problems - like you said happened on last year's inaugural Voyage - with the changeover - especially with regard to Aussie needs

Going back on the Lumi in February to Fiji :D 4th cruise on her. This month I will be on the Quantum of the Seas on her first cruise out of Brisbane :D And I had been watching your videos about Quantum and the food you have eaten on the ship. Thank you for the informative videos :)

Hi and thanks for the comment. Quantum is a very different ship to Luminosa as you will have seen. We love them both for their differences. Would love to go back to Fiji and we have been looking at the ones next year but running really short of leave days from work so it might not be possible. Have a fantastic cruise on Quantum and enjoy the food.

wow have never seen you guys so excited about something, it was so lovely to watch :) im the same about our virgin cruise in december, everytime i think of it my tummy feels funny hehe it actually hurts lol i think that i will be crying when i get onboard im so excited. i want to go now, not in two months, it cant come quick enough

Hi Deb. LoL, we get excited about all the cruises. We just don't necessarily record it. We have been seriously looking at the Virgin cruises and there are some good deals at the moment. We actually have a hold for Christmas 2024 but not sure if we can go yet as it is a block-out time for Madie at work and as the girls get older and have started doing their own thing at Christmas we are not sure how many family Christmases we will get. Virgin Voyages may have to wait. Enjoy yours though. Can't wait to hear about it.

@@robandalicruisetravel family always comes first :) kids grow up quickly and then move out and do there own thing, so definitely enjoy your time with Maddie while you can :) i have a beautiful daughter who is 29 but she got mixed up with a woman who wanted her all to herself and turned my girl against all of her family and they ran off together :( i didn't know where she was for 2.5 years :( i saw her twice last year, turned up on her doorstep (after tracking her down), she told us to get off her property but luckily the woman she was living with was curious to as how we found them, so invited us in. So saw her for about an hour :) then she came about a month later to pick up some of her things, we have been keeping them for her for the past 3 years. That was August 2022 and we haven't seen her since nor can get hold of her :( its tearing me and my mum apart. We miss her so much, every second of every day. But she wants to do her own thing, so as long as she's happy I guess that's all that matters :) sorry for telling you all that. It was probably TMI. X

Rob & Ali thank you for making me super excited about boarding soon. Our paths will unfortunately cross briefly because you’ll be getting on whilst I’ll be getting off heading back home to the states to do Jubilee for New Year’s. My first time in Brisbane any tips on the best way to get to the port or something to do the day before I board. Thank you again and sail on my friends ❤

We are going on our first cruise without children in February. I think you are on the same cruise . Yes I love videos that are very informative. I taken note for our cruise. I can't wait. I do get very seasick is there any advice for me. As I don't want to reckon my cruise. Thanks again

Hi and thanks for the comment. Please come and say hi if you see us, we love meeting people. As for the sea sickness, take and pack some of the travel sickness tablets. Some natural remedies that seem to work are ginger based. As you are able to take non-alcoholic drinks on board, maybe thing about some ginger beers or ginger ales as part of that. The first night when the ship crosses over where the current meets is probably the worst you are going to get it. If you are OK for the first night then you'll likely have no problems. Do you remember if Carnival uses Coca-Cola products in Australia? I'll be sailing on the Luminosa in November and I was tempted to purchase the bottomless bubbles package, but I'm hesitant since they serve Pepsi products in the US. I'd definitely buy the package if Coke was available so I don't have to lug a 12-pack onboard. Additionally, do you remember how quickly you're able to get off the ship in the morning? I've got to get to the airport rather quickly to get to Sydney to go on the Royal Princess that afternoon. I figured if I'm flying 18 hours from home for vacation I should make it worth it.

Well i just came off the pacific adventure P&O, and the world is still swaying 5 days later. This is very frustrating, and people have posted that this can take 2 weeks to recover from!!!

Hi and thanks for the comment. It is a strange thing. Sometimes we don't feel it and other times we do. It has lasted a few days before but never 2 weeks. Hope it clears up for you soon, it's not that pleasant.

Hi, Heading on my second cruise ever. The smaller boats vs the bigger boats, is there a big difference for sea sickness if you are prone to that? We have been on the Majestic Princess and no worries at all. Just wondering if the smaller boats like the Carnival Luminosa are prone to a bit more rocking? Any help appreciated. Love your channel by the way.

Hi and thanks for the comment. To be honest we haven't noticed a lot of difference. Even though it's smaller it is still pretty big compared to the ships of old. I suspect that there will be a difference because Majestic is quite a bit bigger and it will affect people differently. I (Rob) don't really feel the motion but Ali does and she hasn't found that she was any worse on the smaller ships than the larger ones. Have a fantastic cruise.

yes but not free. it's all part of the spa package.

Hi Sarah. There is no charge for the sauna rooms. I think we included some footage of this on our ship tour. I'll check on that. It has huge windows that look out to sea. If you're talking about the 'specialty' showers though, they are part of the Spa package.

Thank you I saw a video and saw the free saunas and they had change room with lockers and just normal showers. On spirit the showers had 3 jets for the showers free to use near the the free saunas! Hubby used it and said was better shower then the one in our room

We never went on Spirit so can't really compare. I think they may be just the normal showers though. I know they do have the special showers in the spa as they told us that. We'll check that out when we are next on board
