Was stung once by a jellyfish in Labadee, haiti - royal caribbean's cruise port. The lifeguard poured vinegar on it and the pain subsided. He did ask me to stand by the lifeguard station for about 15 minutes though in case I had an allergic reaction to the sting.
We were in Bimini last week and bought the $40 Resort World package on the Sunrise which gave us the beach, 2 drinks and the pool. Absolutely amazing. It was our second trip to Bimini
We did this cruise in October and got off at the stop after beach 360 and it was $40 per person and that included a welcome drink, beach chairs and umbrella, and pool access with chairs and umbrella there as well. It was well worth the money in my opinion. We bought the package there with our ship card.
We went to the last stop on the tram, also a free beach option. If you wanted chairs and umbrella it was $74.50 for 2 chairs and an umbrella. Also very steep getting into the water and little jellyfish. They had a bathroom and a food truck but the food truck wasn’t open.
When my husband and I went there in September, we didn't encounter any jellyfish! Also, we got the 360 resort excursion for $65 (cause we had so much onboard credit), and it included the welcome drinks, two beach chairs, umbrella and access to the entire pool area.
We negotiated the rental of one chair and one umbrella for thirty-five dollars on 360 beach when we were there in August. Had a great time despite the jellyfish. I hope Carnival continues to go there!
The free shuttle does not take you to the other free beaches on the other end of the island (radio beach etc.), just the one next to beach 360 you need to take a taxi or golf cart to get to the other ones. We did the $45/person package with the pool and loved it- it does include a welcome drink ;)
yes the pool access gets you welcome drink not sure about beach chairs because we stayed at the pool because of jellyfish, but i believe it includes beach chairs because several we were with went to the beach also
When we went to beach 360…. We just showed up and were able to access the pool and got welcome drink… the beach was accessible but chairs and umbrella was the same price($60)… pool was included in our $45(?)per person price
Apparently uncle google says those jellyfish are called sea mushroom jellyfish and are harmless. We saw more on the beach than in the water. Great day! ❤️❤️
Could not say it better about Bimini!! So confusing how everything worked from start to finish. We paid for the 360 for $60 package. It was just like you said. You get a airline size drink & 2 chairs & umbrella..😂😂.
Just returned from Bimini a couple weeks ago We rented a taxi and our driver Chris took us to the “real” Bimini. There were markets, bars and another beach which was much nicer. We went to Sheryl’s bar and had a wonderful lunch and some Bahamian beer.
@@parodeejay The taxis were at the same place the golf carts could be rented. There were several drivers there waiting to take passengers. The cost was $5 per person, one way. They will set a time to come back for you. Our driver was Chris and he was amazing. Ask for him, he will be thrilled! 😊. Fun fact, Chris said the gas in Bimini was $6 a gallon. 😫
"Do you really want to hurt me..." LOL! About those jellyfish, do you see them in enough ports that it's worth taking along some meat tenderizer to relieve sting pain? Bimini seems a bit on the pricey side (for packages and whatnot). Great review, as usual!!
Wow I've heard of the meat tenderizer method, although I was a lifeguard for many years on both coasts (NC and CA), but I always had vinegar on me to treat stings. I've never actually used meat tenderizer though. How fast does it work in your experience?
@@highoctane4537 Vinegar works well, too, but I always have to fly to ports and don't want to take extra liquids. Meat tenderizer works really well, but it takes a few minutes.
Bacation?🤣 Here's a case of wanting it more just because you can't have it. I seldom eat breakfast, so I don't consume much bacon (and bacon doesn't usually get cooked properly on cruise ships, anyway.) BUT -- tell me I CAN'T have bacon, of course now I NEED it......
Hi! Does it matter what color I order for the pool hammock if I click on your link? Just want to make sure you get the credit. Loving all your cruise videos. You guys are so much fun! 🤘🏼
Nah, any color works! And we get some sort of credit for anything else you add to your cart too, as long as you start from one of our links. Crazy! You need a new TV, right?! :P #joooookes
I wasn’t very impressed with resorts world 360. I pain $60 for 2 chairs and 2 Bahamas mamas. Ate lunch and the food was not good, but cost a fortune. Didn’t know about the pools.
We've done one for Half Moon Cay, back before they were even called Port Guides, and I don't know that much has changed. It's called "Cruise Chat" ha ha... We'll have to see if we got enough intel on Bimini, but I think we did.
thanks for the good info and sharing your journey Did you have your Parodeejay Door sign made…I’m interested in getting one with my business info on it…if there is a website do u mind sharing it?
Looks like Bimini is a money-making port of call and the shuttle driver gets money on how many patrons they deliver because he didn’t bring you to the free beaches. That’s why you should do your research before your cruise and take a cab to your destination.
It’s sort of a privately owned destination, I believe built in part by Virgin Cruise line. There didn’t seem to be any independent taxis, and the only taxi shuttle is the one that took you downtown to shop for five dollars per person each way. So you’re sort of forced into either walking or taking the resort shuttle.
