Seems funny people dont question kids eating chips, pop, candy, sugary cereal, ding dongs, etc, but people are concerned kids are eating things like meat, eggs, fish, cheese.
I so regret not having this knowledge when I was raising my boys. I feel like some of the behavioral problems I had with my oldest had so much to do with the food he was eating. And we really tried to eat “healthy“, but of course we know now that it wasn’t. You are giving your boys a great start. They are so fortunate to have you as their Mom!
I feel exactly the same way! I'm now doing independent research on how keto, ketovore, and carnivore affect autism. I feel ashamed and regret for not knowing and raising my eldest son (with autism) ketovore from the start.
This was great, thanks Jenny. My son is 15 so I had to get his cooperation. Initially, he agreed to try it for 30 days. Now, after 6 months, he is doing fabulous and doesn't want to go back.
My 1 year old baby pretty much eats meat based food as well. But I also add berries and the occasional pancakes or pasta but its always meat/animal based because he must have some form of meat in his meals. He loves it! His regular meals are almost always chicken/beef/lamb/salmon steak. Once a week I give him pan fried liver.
@@JennyMitich thanks. I noticed a big difference between him and my other 2 kids but of course not all kids are the same. His physical development was faster.. walking, crawling etc. mentally he is quick and understands things better. Idk if it's the diet but he is definitely early in a lot of things.
I am a Hindu and I have been a vegetarian my whole life but I'm going to feed my kids as much protein as possible and I will be also following similar diet pattern that you are using thanks for your help
As a family we raise our own animals for food. Chickens, Sheep, Goats & Cows. Our 4 daughters have had a close relationship with their food since they were very young. My 5 & 8 yr old want to join me on this journey also. But they love fruit 😂 i don't blame them lol. Ive been on the journey for 34 days today & Im down 21lbs. Thanks for all of your videos. They've been so helpful for my process. Your 30days of Carnivore sold me on it. So here i am 4days in to the 30 & I'm not going back, Lord Willing ❤
This is a wonderful video!! From another mom of twin boys (mine are 11), I really loves this. Our boys are 95% carnivore, with a very similar food routine and options. One critical thing I would add is that if the children are already exposed to the ultra processed food industry as mine were, look for ways to "treat" with carnivore items. Like instead of taking them to eat out at some garbage fast food restaurant or them gravitating towards something sweet and processed, we look for something different that we wouldn't normally eat that's carnivore as a treat like frenched lamb or a tomahawk steak (boys always think meat with big bones in it are cool 😂). I let them be a part of the selection process. This is more geared towards older children of course, but we sit down as a family each week and develop our carnivore meal plan for the week. It helps the boys feel like they have a voice that's important in their diet, helps me keep organized with groceries and what meats to have thawed or prepped, and takes the opportunity for mess-ups like fall off the wagon whoopsies out of the equation.
I think it's great how you feed your kids! I'd like to make a suggestion if I may. I have 5 children ages 1, 3, 8, 10 and 11 when we stated carnivore. I bought a book called Sugar Free Kids by Maria Emmerich that made the transition easier. Lots of those recipes are carnivore or keto and that made it fun. Also, the first nearly 100 pages in the beginning are educational so we read that for homework. My younger two didn't seem to care we switch to carnivore, it made zero difference to them. However, my older three grew up on the SAD and were less enthusiastic, but like you said, I did the shopping so they ate what I bought. 8 months in and we've settled into a great rhythm. I'm fully carnivore so is my 10 year old, he's my picky eater and refuses anything other than burgers and cheese. My husband and my other kids are more ketovore. They do peppers, cauliflower rice, lettuce, cucumbers, cheese, yogurt, berries and some sugar free sauces. That's pretty much it, our meat is 99% ground beef. We tried to mix things up in the beginning, but ultimately they prefer the beef. I'm down 60lbs with zero exercise (I started three months before my family), my 8 year old has has lost the distended belly look, my son is off his adhd meds and my kids are thriving! They occasionally meantion, mom I miss this or that food, but I let them splurge on major holidays and eat what they want, so I jury reminded them to ask for it then. Is it expensive? If you stick to just ground beef and butter it's cheap. When you start adding in all of the other stuff it can get more pricey, but manageable. It was more expensive in the beginning when we were doing all of the coconut flour and baking and such. But we eventually kicked all of that to the curb and stick to burgers or just ground beef/venison with butter or some cheese. Good luck!
Also carnivore has made my milk supply very low (4th baby so I know I never had this issue before) I have to be more animal based and keep up my dairy and have about 100g carbs a day
I eat Ketavore. my husband is trying to give ketavore a chance. I have always offered my kids from the start veggies, fruit, and meat. What they eat off their plate is their choice, what goes on the plate is my choice. They are allowed seconds, thirds and whatever of anything from the meal without having to clear their plate as well. It's always the meat they want more of. My kids look healthy. The reaction i get from the doctor is praise about how healthy my children are. Then he looks at the computer and sees they are very low in the weight percentiles, and in the 90 percentiles for height. Sometimes i get lectured and i just tell him they eat, are active, and are thriving.
Hello and thank you so much! Unfortunately I am not surprised by negative comments anymore, they are par for course when you release anything on RU-vid LOL
Those boys are adorable!! I love LMNT but don’t like the plain packets…love orange and watermelon. Don’t like salty water but maybe people find other uses for it than putting in drinking water.
I’m thinking about doing this for my daughter as well. She was diagnosed with alopecia areata when she was 4 and she’s 14 now and has lost a lot of her hair. I’m put a rosemary oil blend on her scalp and the dermatologist wanted to give her steroid injections into the scalp but I declined. She’s been having this bad flare up for over a year. Luckily she’s not bothered by this. She says mom it’s just hair and if I lose all my hair I’ll wear a wig. It seems like it something that she’s eating that she’s allergic to and it’s keeping the inflammation high in her body which is causing her body to attack her hair follicles
Yep! I think now that I have been carnivore for so long, if I were to get pregnant again, I would have an easier time with breastfeeding. IDK if that would be the same if I was on a SAD and then switched to Carnivore while breastfeeding, I think the body may have stress from that transition. But who knows?
@@JennyMitichI had that issue too but looking back I ate all the ‘recommended’ lactation stuff that’s just full of gut irritants, fiber, lectins, oats, soy, it was no wonder even my energy seemed worse ( on top of already feeling absolutely exhausted from the newborn stage) I wish I would’ve found Dr Chaffee earlier myself for that reason. I wonder if my milk supply will be dramatically better next time round and I’m very confident it would bea different story
@@JennyMitichalso I’m sorry you had a hard time milk supply wise! That’s such a hard thing to go through as a momma because you look at your babies who are obviously hungry and it’s heart wrenching to feel like you can’t help them 😮💨🥺❤️🩹
Hello! Yes, I give my kids fruit, I talk about why in this video. I dont think it is a big deal because they are metabolically healthy. If they were not, I wouldnt give them fruit.
We also do lots of bacon and breakfast sausage everyday but I worry about how processed they both are. Keilbassa and hotdogs are soooo terrible no matter if they are "whole beef". My son would live off hotdogs honestly but I have had to tell him we can't do hotdogs anymore.
@@JennyMitich I just need to look into it a little more I guess. I struggle with cutting out processed meats because of the convenience but I thought processed meats were bad bc of the nitrates and phosphates, and the preservatives.
@@Megan-gl4zz processed meats are suspected to cause a small but significant increase in the incidence of colon cancer. Talk to a doctor or nutritionist, Jenny has to maintain a narrative in order to keep up the view count so she has a bit of a conflict of interest here.
@@carflexee suspected according to studies did not indicate a causal connection, neither did they specify any further personal or enviromental factors playing a role. Tbh I think chance is there hasnt been a single participant in those studies who follows a strict carnivore protocol like Jenny does. But a ton of people consuming a lot of meat next to real unhealthy habits like drinking, smoking, being physically inactive or consuming a lot of processed junk or having existing health issues etc etc. Bottom line is, these studies are suspected to be lobby financed and more than likely the participants have been carefully chosen to fit the narrative of eating meatbased being unhealthy (since big pharma doesnt like you curing your diabetes or getting off your blood pressure medication or statins.
Hahahahah In American moms have so much trouble to convince their spoiled kids to eat what it is proper😂 in my house. Everybody eats what I said period Including my husband. of course that I prepare they favorite foods and their favorite sweets and their favorite dishes, but in the frequency and the way I decide and I consider is the proper nutrition for them, so nobody come with any idea of veganism or lose weight unless they want to pay for their own food by themselves which means that they are making money, which means it’s time to cooperate at home budget to too, so nobody come with any of that bs, 😂
may I suggest you include salmon in there diet? I got a mental ilness when I became 26. My suspicion is that it is either caused by no Omega 3 in my childhood / youth or lack of Vitamin D.
Need some help. Been on this diet for almost a month, and the diarrhea everyday is unappealing. Any tips, please. Thank you for your time and thoughts. Shelley
Shelly when your digestive system heals the diareah will stop. Are you drinking coffee this will keep the diarea going . It took me a18 mo. To just start having normal stools
@@JennyMitichelectrolytes were the cause of my issues. I haven’t been salting or adding electrolytes for years now and my issues resolved. No more cramps or diarrhea. If I accidentally eat salt I get cramps and diarrhea. I just eat beef and drink water. No organs. No supplements. Not even electrolyte supplements.
Great video Jenny. Watching your two boys eating their meat reminds of those funny vegan vids of vegans trying to show how their dogs love vegetables more than meat, when they have a bowl of meat and a bowl of veggies. Inevitably the dogs always go for the meat. It is hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
Not gonna lie I just started this diet and my daughter always comes up to me for my food because I’m eating it and not the food I have her and she loves the salted ground beef and chicken 😂😂
There’s plenty of material around why oats aren’t the best especially for breakfast - sugar spike. Also the high fibre can cause stomach issues. Please check for yourself though.

Low carb is the diet that has been shown to reverse fatty liver disease. Check the Virta Health studies or the studies of Dr Unwin in the UK. Our country has seen a dramatic increase of fatty liver disease afte the introduction of the low fat, high carb guidelines of 1978. You know how cows are fattened to produce more fatty meat? By feeding them grains. The same happens when geese and ducks are fed grains to fatten their livers
