Good day, Amanda: I've written you several times as my journey about 20 years ago was the same as yours now. The PCOS is very, very difficult. In my case, I believe I said to you before that it was 10 full years of constant menstruation...and it was heavy, heavy, heavy. I could go into details, but I won't. Everyone reading this, know that all these negative things change when you get a grip on your weight. Go keto, go carnivore, go whatever, but lose the weight and your life will improve exponentially. I have kept the weight off, I work out daily, I am a fit and healthy person in control of three autoimmune disorders (I am also carnivore). Never give up on yourselves. This is why I love Amanda. She is positive and I know she will not give up until she's where she wants and deserves to be. You are all worthy of good health, but you need to put the work in. Trust me, you'll love it when you actually finally get there! God bless all of you and Amanda...you are one of my heroes because you are helping people to believe in themselves. You go girl!
You are the absolute SWEETEST, and thank you for being willing to share this I know there are SO many women who are suffering with PCOS/mensuration issues that have no idea or hope on changing it. I often think of the lady who has PCOS with terrible hirsutism having a full beard, it doesnt have to be that way, its not normal and extremely hard on the body being so out of whack!
Both my husband and I lost loads of weight on this diet. He’s still doing it, I fell off the wagon at Christmas and not been able to re-focus. I’ve put some weight back on. I’m going to watch your vids, hopefully they will help me get back on it. Thank you x
Hi Jem!! If you have not read the book Tiny Habits, it is a WONDERFUL place to start as well. It helps teach us that change happens through the small habits we create
Amanda, you have no idea the inspiration you are to me and others. I have learned so much from watching your journey over the last few months. I hear phrases that you have spoken here, come back to me throughout my week. Today's video made tears spring to my eyes. I am just so proud of you and so grateful for your persistent generosity in sharing all the ups and downs of "the dailiness" of living a long-road carnivore lifestyle. You speak truth and share wisdom. Thank you, Dear, for sharing. (BTW that cobalt blue is beautiful with your coloring.)
@@CarnivorousMe1 Amanda can you please help me? I started carnivore yesterday again. I also started a RU-vid channel for access and to try and get the carnivore community behind me. I don't know anything about technology so my videos are from my bed and one is in the dark because I don't feel worthy to be in the light. Here's the linkru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EqjoBcb1BXw.htmlsi=R2c360aBR-e3giBU . Thank you
Amanda I watch and do not comment but today I HAVE to send you my love and gratitude. On April 24, 2005 I was so disheartened about life I ended it, unsuccessfully. But was brought back at the last possible moment. Today I'm so thankful for my life and I no longer allow internet trolls to destroy me. I'm happy in my skin, I'm healthy physically and mentally thanks to our CARNIVORE COMMUNITY with people like you to be inspirational. You are a very beautiful woman and I say, block people from your channel who have no respect for your life and this incredible journey you are brave enough to share. I'm sending you LOVE, HEALING AND most of all RESPECT. Do take a break if that helps you reset your life. Know I will be waiting patiently and lovingly for you to return if you choose to do so. I appreciate you. Love, Paula❤
I love your tiny habit talks. After 2 weeks of perfect carnivore, I decided to quit smoking after 45 years. I did it by telling myself that if I want a cigarette, I will have one occasionally if I want. This has worked. I used to smoke two packs a day, coughing my head off, sleep apnea, and wheezing. All coughing a wheezing is gone. I have bought 3 packs over the last 2 weeks, but I don't beat myself up. I feel wonderful, and believe every day I don't smoke a great leap forward. I have not touched 1 carb, so I am hoping to apply this discipline to cigarettes when I am ready.
I can’t believe how healthy your hair and skin looks. After watching the video recently where she showed a lot of “befores”. Even on workout videos where your hair is going everywhere, your hair looks so healthy! You are such an inspiration in so many ways Amanda! 🙌🏻
My tiny habit focus is non distracted eating. No scrolling, reading, video watching, macro tracking, journaling or list making.Savoring food texture, taste, chewing and envisioning my body being nourished. Great video Amanda and crew. Thanks for the update.
Your positivity is contagious! I love that you are tweaking your diet to learn what works for you. Sharing these things helps us too! I am proud of you too!!! Great victories! keep it up and thank you for sharing!!!!
Tennis is awesome even if just picking up balls - that is work too! We just donated our rackets last year before finding carnivore since we figured we would never play again, you know, cuz we're old.... Oh well. If we get adventurous, I still have my badminton set. I wish I had found carnivore before hitting menopause. The last 5 or so years of my cycle was miserable! Flow was stupid heavy like scared to leave the house the first few days heavy. I always hoped it would start on a Friday so I would be OK for work by Monday - eek! My mom had a hysterectomy at about the same age that I started having issues and I finally understood why. I always enjoy your videos. You are so positive, honest and encouraging. Thank you so much for taking the time to bring us along on your journey. You are absolutely helping so many!
Theres nothing saying yall couldnt pick tennis back up again!! We had some old rackets to play with that first time and the handles were just degrading in my hand, thats when I realized "holy cow its been 9 YEARS since we used these!!", we bought new ones the next day!
Just found your channel yesterday! I've been on this diet for two weeks, and have been looking for some good content. I was SO HAPPY to find another PCOS younger lady girlie to watch. I am sad to see you have stopped making content. You do you, I get online bullies can be so awful. I have had to deal with them too. I just want you to know you are not alone and are still making a difference! I hope you are doing better!
I actually played tennis in high school on the varsity team! Scott plays with me but he will never be a "match" kind of guy which I am A-okay with. Its just fun playing and spending time outside with him!
Fantastic news, Amanda! I'm so happy for you and the goals you reached. It's such a big step towards personal freedom to gain mobility & endurance back. I'm also glad that the 'woman issues' are better now. It's such a curse what some of us have to go through for decades and nothing better than a light & painless "time of the month". Love your authenticity and transparency! Keep going dear - much love & energy! ❤
agreed! My period has been an issue since I was 16 (I was older when I got mine),pain excessive bleeding to the point a few times I was anemic from it!
I’m so impressed by this lady. I only check in now and again but each time I do very she is very positive. You’ve done so well. The weight loss is quite impressive but the improved state of mind/state of being is what I really am impressed with.
I agree... Picking up tennis balls is definitely more exercise than playing. I'm not very good at tennis, and end up SOOO sore afterwards from all the bending down.
Amanda, you are an amazing and inspirational influencer. The subconscious mind doesn't understand the negative (I need to AVOID x)... So, yeah, finding a different focus - WINNER! I don't always follow every week (used to consume everything you posted)... I still share some of your vid's, but more than that you are one of the many channels I point people to when I think they need YOUR brand of enthusiasm/reality-check... PLS keep up the good work!
Amanda - I just love your videos & your outlook on life, habits, & turning negatives into a positive. They’re so motivating- I need that right now. I just spiraled back up in weight & it’s so frustrating after years of working on my myself. I’m also just taking that as a lesson & moving forward! I saw you are having a meat up soon & unfortunately I’m not able to make it this time. I was wondering if you lived in the PNW- I’m just south of Portland, OR. 😊 I ordered the Tiny Habits book after watching your last video. 🙌🏼 It just arrived yesterday.
I like to add a bout a third of a Zevia to a flavored seltzer water, as it's much less sweet so it doesn't trigger sweet cravings, just right for my palate actually. The other thing I've noticed is that Zevia- & most of the seltzers- do not lose their carbonation easily. This means I can keep an open can in the fridge throughout the day w/out it going flat, pretty cool. Samantha in AZ
Great update, Amanda! Sorry, that I haven't checked in for awhile. It's been quite hectic with work/life balance. I'm glad to see that you're making good progress and you found the heavy cream without the carageenan or gum. There's two that I use from Whole Foods and my favorite was out of stock yesterday 😢 Did you find the Devon cream at WF? FYI-I purchased an Inferno grill from North Fire, which arrived yesterday. With the deluge we're experiencing today, I might have to wait until tomorrow to try it out. I love a good sear on my steaks, so I'm excited. It's very reasonably priced nowadays, so I went for it.
Keto, Carnivour, low carb and the granddaddy (intermittant fasting) really works wonders. I also like green salads with low starches with steak and cheese. You look great!
I am so happy for you, and you look beautiful in that color. You are amazing, and such an encouragement. I am 4 weeks in, your content helps me greatly.
Looking wonderful!!!! Are You currently trying to conceive? Don't put off trying to conceive a little one for too long, age matters. I can't wait to see you and Scott start your family! I have watched your channel for a long long time.
I incorporate a small amount of berries in my Carnivore/Ketovore WOE and today for the first time I tried Low Carb Love's recipe for strawberry lemonade using the Citrus LMNT. It was phenomenal. I smashed about 1/4 cup partially thawed frozen strawberries in a mason jar, added ice, 1 pkg of LMNT citrus, and then I used sparkling water instead of plain water and then I also didn't have any fresh lemon to garnish with, so I added 1 Tbsp. organic lemon juice. Absolutely delicious and I will be having this probably daily now that the weather is warmer. Strawberries don't raise my BG at all.
Amanda, I had a hard time adding back food with any added sweetener and will be interested if you do as well. The addiction kicks in for me immediately, sadly. I kept telling myself that it was so little, but then it would be all I thought about and looked forward to. It’s not worth it. I have to view it like smoking - zero cigarettes is much easier than one a day or one a week or one a month. Just zero. I’m not carnivore anymore, so I do eat a little fruit every day, but I draw the line at added sugar/sweeteners and that makes it easier for me. Wishing you a no-cravings life however it works for you! Congratulations on this great week!
Congrats on a loss when you’re on your cycle! One nice thing about being a Grandma is NOT having a cycle. I went through menopause at 42 & was so happy I could sh🍀t.
Tennis great fun, right? People go on saying _"diet is everything, you cannot outexercise a poor diet"_ - or some variation of that. But there is a joy in being able to do things with your body, and that can be much more motivating than restricting your eating. Babies learn how to walk, to do what others do - it's the most natural thing in the world. And they're probably cheered on by their surroundings. Then we may learn how to sprint, cartwheel, bike, swim or somersault. Training is similar, we learn a move others typically know how to do, for me it's been motivating to get better at the ab-wheel every week - working on being able to perform a standing ab-wheel rollout. So personally I think we need some exercise like this to motivate us, and not just focus on dieting. Countering the initial statement others say "90% of diets fail and people gain their weight back again" so to me it's roughly 50-50 between diet and exercise or play. It's good to focus on exercise and the body and mind will follow to make it happen. Eventually you're able to do that thing that you wanted to be able to do.
I think that adding the beef protein is a good idea. That will help build muscle. Are you familiar with Dr. Ted Naiman’s weight loss “formula”? If you eat just 1.2 percent more GRAMS of protein than the total of fat grams added to any carb grams, you will lose weight. You could experiment with that. I eat intuitively now at goal weight. Currently doing lion with a little butter if needed with lean meats. Got a little too cozy with the bacon and cheese. 3 1/2 year carnivore.
I havent seen his stuff ill have to take a peek at it! Im on the struggle bus with getting enough protein and adding the beef protein powder in the AM is now being a big help
It is so hard to find plain heavy cream. I’m off of coffee & dairy starting tomorrow. Ugh! Looking forward to how I should feel, just hard to get off the stuff. Thank you for all the hints & tricks you give us. Love ya 😊
Amanda!!!!!!!!!!!!!That is so Amazing congratulations! And you know what its only ganna continue to get better love!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG let me tell you how I drink my coffee so I pour heavy cream at the bottom of my mug and then I add 25 twist of Himalayan salt and pour my coffee over it. It is soooo decadent and yea I know salt! who knew but now I love it way more then sugar!
❤. You look so awesome! You can put some water in your yogurt and protein and whirl it in your blender. But, yes it is very lump if you don’t add water or milk.
I'm curious if you've pondered on...the fact that you've released an entire person (111lbs) off your body? That is remarkable. Prayers for continued success on your journey!
Having Easter this year with my Italian family. I am only 10 days on carnivore and I plan on eating a little more than meat. I will resume diet day after. Help!!!
Don't beat yourself up about time with family. Just have good food when you get home. I cannot recommend enough getting and reading Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg. Best money you could ever spend on yourself. It will help you with good habits through any type of holiday eating
OMG! That's so great about the tennis! When I first met my husband I tried to play tennis but unfortunately I due to an eye disease I do not see good enough to hit a ball that's flying at me. I currently use talk to text because of my vision impairment so please excuse any typos.
Yay! Amanda so happy for your success of weight loss! You look great and Scott's meat mush is funny but looks way better than oatmeal for sure! 🎉🎊💪🏆! Do you want to do any more paddle boarding?
I keep telling myself any progress no matter how small is still progress. You can't move a mountain by moving pounds of dirt you have to move at one Pebble at a time
Better check the back label on that yogurt. The front 2g is a come on. It is lower than most, but more than you think. I make my own yogurt with 2kk's recipe in a sous vide machine. I find that collagen dissolves pretty well in yogurt. Congrats on your health gains and continued weight loss!
Normally it is a marketing ploy of carbs - fiber to get "net carbs" however this specific brand uses stevia so it is just 2g of total carb. But checking the labels is always a must!!
@@CarnivorousMe1 meh about the yogurt...Fage plain is probably ok and there are probably others. Keep up the good work! I am thrilled at your success. Very motivating :) I saw your first video or so way back...and, now, so glad to see you back! YOU LOOK AMAZING! Beautiful skin and hair, and always a beautiful energy. Yes to human babies!! xoxo Oops! I saw you like vanilla...oh well! You do you! You are doing great!!
I also restarted playing tennis. Now I’m solo but I bought a rebounder (which is a ball on a ln elastic string secured to a weight, so I don’t have to play with someone. I usually do two rounds of serving (I also have a ball pickup). After practicing my serves from both sides of the court, I set up the rebounder and play for 20-30 minutes. The string does tangle, but I am able to get anywhere from 3-7 ground strokes in before it tangles or I mess up. I wind up playing for an hour and I’m consistently in my zone 2 which is all I’m looking to accomplish. P.S., I also have used protein powder in yogurt. I have found that if you put some of the water from the yogurt in with your serving it helps the powder to mix better. Equip protein works best for this as it does not have a gum thickener like Keto Chow. KC works well to make waffles (I use the strawberry non sweetened Core version as it’s beef protein isolate plus eggs). Yes, sometimes something other than bacon and eggs is nice
High Fat High Protein Macros is the number 1 reason why Carnivores stall on weight loss. Protein over 20% will covert to SUGAR!!! Yes I know you probably asking how is der sugar in my blood without consuming Sugar. Your body converts the Protein into Sugar when the Protein is over 20% this process is called Gluconeogenesis. So when u eat a High Fat High Protein diet the fat blocks out the Insolin receptors and the body can’t uptake the sugar in the blood and kicks you out of Ketosis. To stay in Ketosis 24/7 eat less than 20% Protein it’s that simple. Foods like Ground Beef,Sausages,Bacon have these High fat Low Protein macros usually. If u want to eat other foods like Steak just add enough fat to hit 80% Fat. Your Welcome Carnivores!!!
I loooove the two good yogurt. I also find that the protein powder does not mix in well. I feel like it needs to be mixed with another liquid to make sure it’s not clumpy before putting it in the yogurt.
Hi Amanda I been watching your journey probably since you started…very amazing how you look at the bright side of things I been doing carnivore for 2 years only lost 43 pound and I look at you and think wow! You talked about protein powder today on the video… do you use the protein powder as a meal replacer? Thank u for your time🤷♀️
