From South Africa… 69 yers old, start Carnivore 1 month ago… My daughter is 49 years old, start Carnivore 1week after me… Both of us already see positive results of this diet…
Hi dr Ken, Just a newbie here. I’m a 79+ 11months old woman who has been overweight since my firstborn child. Was diagnosed with diabetes with an A1c mid to low 6s. Been ketovor to carnivore for about three months. Went from 178 down to 149 with a 5.1 a1c. Thank you so much.
I have been on Keto for 2 years and I am transitioning to carnivore. I originally lost 80lbs. In December 2023 I had multiple ischemic strokes and a heart attack and a stent put in carotid also a permanent titanium heart implant to monitor my afib. I am clear you are not my dr. I gained 30lbs. I have lost 10 lbs on carnivore. Can’t seem to loose on keto only when I do not eat any carbs and carnivore.
Hi Dr. Berry. My doctor is not keto friendly. I am near 70 yrs old and have been keto for 2 1/2 years. Yes my ldl is high but I've given my dr. the report on high ldl on keto diet. He now knows that statins are not for me so he stopped pushing them. I'm off of 7 prescriptions, mostly for arthritic pain, and I feel great. Love your videos, God bless your beautiful family.
Why do you continue going to him? Look at the stuff this 'health' professional had you on. I stopped 8 drugs and quit my doctor of 30 years. In hindsight he was a big pharma puppet.
Totally agree on heat over ice for injuries. I've been an athlete for 30 years. Heat is all I need to heal injury, especially with my back. My heat pad is my best friend.
A person commented on girlfriend teeth hurting on carnivore. When I was around 7 mos in my roots and teeth were sore a little hurting. It went away. I summed it up as oxalate dumping or my jaw bones ( my body bones are denser now on carnivore) was healing. It lasted a couple mos but it healed and have no more problems. Your body is constantly healing on carnivore.
It is gum tissue related, dentists are taught that gum disease is ireversible and progressive, dr jordan petertson has some video on this condition and macular degenetation, also irreversible. They are both reversible, given given the infinite number of pathways to the cliff edge of disease, PHD will improve just about every condition unless there are other confounding issues at play. Time will heal given the proper human ingestion of nutrition. One solution too the meat gum irriation is fatty hambuger bought in 5 lb or 10 lb tubes. And simply, a tooth pick or floss will remove the jammed pieces of meat between the teeth.
My guess would be retinoic acid or similar. Oxalates would more likely result in a buildup of calculus on teeth. Vitamin A or copper could cause teeth pain as your body detoxes previous excesses. Either way, I hope you continue to get more healthy!
OMG Dr Berry... I love you❤ been listening to you for 2 or 3 years now I've shared your info with so many people and I just got Godsmacked when you said to do heat for healing instead of ice because I've been an athlete all my life and I've been told ice ice ice ice ice ice.😢 I've got some ribs that I hurt a month or so ago I've been icing them and it's taking forever. I know ribs normally take longer than other parts of the body because we use them for so many things but I'm a fast healer and always have been. I will now start putting a heating pad on them and taking hot baths. Thank you so much Dr Berry for all you do and all you say and what you stand for and for helping humanity wake the f****** up! Much love and gratitude and appreciation from Michelle Marie in Evansville Indiana! ❤🎉❤🎉❤
Bart Kay is awesome - as is Dr. Berry! If you're not subscribed to Bart, pls get over there and give him a chance. He's very much fighting the good fight and is highly intelligent and knowledgeable.
My dentist told me that meat is the worse food for getting stuck between teeth then putting pressure on the teeth. Flossing will not always get the meat out but proxabrushes will. Almost every time I eat meat, not hamburger or fish, I brush with the proxabrush and pull out pieces of meat and it stops the tooth pain.
For me I only get tooth pain if it's not totally cooked. If some raw meat gets in there it seems to want to get a little infected or some discomfort occurs. But I don't break down and start flossing and brushing lol that's for nerds
INSOMNIA ON CARNIVORE - SOLUTION for me. This is from one guy on another forum, worked for me. He said, "right before bed I take a pat of butter, sleep like a baby." I heppened to have tallow from Grazin. I take three of those; now I sleep. When I run out, butter will be next. Carnivore gave me insomnia bad. Fat before bed helps me sleep. I thank God for the random dude on that other channel. Edit add: this is so important, this sleep thing, I'm gonna say this over and over, so if you see it again, have patience. INSOMNIA SUCKS BAD. BAD.
That’s because your cortisol goes up and gluconeogenesis starts. Carnivore insomnia is due to low sugar in the body. Butter keeps it stable and lowers cortisol allowing you to sleep. Same when people eat some carbs before bed ;)
Okay I hear ya, then I'll rather develop diabetes and die of heart disease and fatty liver disease over this temporary intervention of a tiny bit of butter. @@DKing-js1of
@@DKing-js1of Since this diet has helped me drop 95 lbs and get off a CPAP and reduce medication, a little fat to help sleep seems a reasonable burden.
That's fine, but once you near your goal weight, I just ask that you be willing to transition off and slowly reintroduce more foods....not processed foods...but other healthy, whole foods that have some carbs. This diet works, but people think therefore it's a diet for life, and it's not. Humans are not meant to be in ketosis 365, 24/7
37:13 another wonderful suggestion I have is be sure to take a picture of yourself right now and then take a picture of yourself in one year and show them both pictures
"Teeth hurt"...he may have meant her gums hurt. When I first started and ate ribeyes, my gums hurt like crazy in spot where I have a gap between teeth because of a crown (meat got jammed between teeth). SOLUTION: I started buying PRIME ribeyes instead of CHOICE (only a dollar/pound difference at COSTCO)...problem 100% solved! The difference is amazing...never going back!
@@Baptized_in_Fire. PRIME ribeye is so much more tender (and fattier!) than CHOICE...it just never gets stuck between my teeth. And like I said (at least at my COSTCO) it is only $1/pound more than CHOICE.
Is it weird that after 9 weeks of carnivore, my thinning hair is starting to thicken back up? Am I just crazy? Is this a thing that can happen? Surely if carnivore cured baldness, most guys would be carnivore by now!
Others have mentioned this happening to them. It depends on the reason for the baldness. After nearly 2 years on low carb my hair is not as grey as it used to be and I've seen others say the same for them. I had no idea that this was possible so I wasn't looking out for it. I cut my own hair and was surprised when sweeping up that the hair was darker. My boss can see the difference.
@@wtk6069 I don't blame you. I'm glad my hair less grey. But I did read a comment by a lady whose hair is changing colour and she is disappointed because she liked how it was before.
Tony C carnivir 6 weeks. Lost 70 pounds from 230 lbs... little rough with managing the physical process, but managing.. have both feet hot and cold most of the day... kinda painful.. but dealing.... new topic... I love nuts which nuts are ok to eat as. Also huge thank you to Dr Berry and my new friends helping me understand how to earn my PHD.
SCOTUS Chevron Ruling look at the list of organizations writing their own laws, this includes the Supreme Court. Only the Legislature can write laws not organizations. Get em Doc.
"Humaning" I love it! Dr. Berry, can you please do an in depth video on what actually can be called dairy, I have AI issues, and don't want to hear that butter is included, or ghee, but if it comes from you, I will listen. Thank you and Neisha both for all you do!
I weigh 270# I've been drinking beer for 40 years, I'm 73 currently eating carnivore, many things have improved since I rejected seed oils and processed foods, and sugar. I just can't pull that last lever, I love my evening beer sessions, 10 to 16 beers nightly is hard to drop cold turkey, I lasted 31 days the last time I abstained, I fear it will be like when I quit smoking. It took 5 tries to quit 15 years ago, is my liver too far gone Doc.? PS. I stopped all 5 medications I was on, am no longer having vertigo, my bp was 125 over 70 today, weird that the wife bought 2 metal raised beds and now I have to garden for her, I might eat a home grown tomato sandwich or two this summer, as my research claims that I need to carb cycle, tomato juice running off my elbows was a summer rite of passage!
For me, I saw my doctor and had my liver enzymes checked. The liver is an incredible organ caoablenof repairing and healing itself. I watched someone I love with dementia & then alzheimers slowly pass away and I don't want someone having to feed me or wipe me after using the bathroom in a diaper. Of course, there are no guarantees but at least now I know I am doing everything I know to do. I just did a sugar test and I'm in so much pain I could cry. At 1.5 gluten free and vegan cupcakes at a bd party and will not make that mistake again. Carnivore For the win! 180 days and back to it. Do I start over? No I'm just moving forward.
I received encouragement from the late Stevie Ray Vaughan- a recorded speech from an AA session. Try to find encouragement from someone that’s been through it. Some churches have “Celebrate Recovery” if that is available. Is there someone you can confide in as an accountability partner?
Ive been keto on and off for 10 yrs. Always slim, good numbers apart from high ldl (5-6mmol). Have moved closer to carnivore, and now its 8mmol (307). Decided to get CAC and scored 703 (56yr old). Im on board with the lack of causality in cvd, and im pretty much lmhr. But im pretty anxious about the cac, high ldl, etc. i fluctuate between less carbs, and adding some back in to hedge my bets. Ex smoker and cake eater so hopeful the damage is old. Surprised at how anxious it makes me.
Well , that was weird - on twitter in one of the carnivore groups I suggested to someone that he tries a 72 hr fast for weight loss. My account wa suspended and I had to remove the comment for breaching their rules . WTF is going on in this world ?
I feel like teeth can hurt after eating steak if you are used to eating non-food items like twinkies or yogurt that are so soft, you are not used to chewing meat. My jaw would get sore, not my teeth because I had my whole life eating soft refined carbs and hated anything hard or chewy. I hated beef jerky. I only ate ground beef cuz it was soft then I became a vegetarian. After I introduced beef again, my jaw would get sore after chewing a lot of the meat. It can't all be melt in your mouth brisket or ribeye. lol.
I do recommend a sure way to stop smoking. FASTING! Not sure how fasting works, but is almost impossible to feel the urge to smoke while fasting. This is how I quite.
HI doc. Happy to see that you tend to favor creationism to evolutionism. I dont want to argue with anyone, but to me it seem that creationism makes more sense.
MiniMoe is reporting to have no weight loss on 2 months of eating meat, eggs and butter. I suspect two possibilities. Many people hope to see a net loss of weight, but it's much more important to change the composition of the body. Some people while loosing inches from their waist may actually gain weight by way of gaining muscle mass. So make sure you eat enough protein, exercise twice a week, move daily and your body composition will change to lean muscle and loss of excess fat. It's a shame that so many people hung up on the weight. I suggest people stop using scales all together and do measurement of waist circumference or tissue composition scan (available for cheap in some gyms)
I had to cut down on the butter in order to overcome a weight loss stall !!! Now i use butter only when i feel really low on energy and it is not convenient to cook yet !
I don't know what to do. I'm an American living in the UK. The doctor told me today that my ldl cholesterol is 6.9 and is extremely high. He was very upset and is contacting the lipid clinic to get advice. I've been following a keto carnivore diet and the doctor told me 2 years ago my lipids were better
That is funny because my teeth hurt as well for the first week or two. Nothing wrong with them but it always happens when I start again. I grind at night but I use a mouth piece. It's more my fillings that feel strange
Doctor Berry, can you do a vid on lead and cadmium contamination of chocolate rampant in the industry? Consumer reports did an independant ( no donor money to affect the results) lab on the levels found in most chocolate brands and it seems they don't or won't do anything to address these deadly elements on our diets?
I really want more research or another video about dairy. I wish I remembered her name, but I was just watching a carnivore couple. The wife went thru her whole pregnancy eating a tub of yogurt a day (not even joking) along with whatever meat they had and looks amazing, before and after the baby. Never seen someone bounce back so fast. Her husband on the other hand can only eat raw/natural cheese or he has stomach issues. I hated milk before carnivore and now my mouth waters for it during my period, even after going 3months BBBE. I've always loved cheese and lost soooo much weight on keto, and most of my diet was cheese/fat if I'm being honest. it wasn't even raw cheese. The only reason I cut it out was because everyone in the carnivore space (but a few) say its bad, and I wanted to know if it was causing acne. I've been testing out "Fat Theory" because I keep hearing people say your body can only absorb so much fat before it comes out in the toilet and it doesn't make you fat - cheese is mostly fat. I've experimented with pork belly, butter, and a block of cheese. I ate until I felt sick and the next morning I either lose weight (Insaaannee), or stay the same. Everything else comes out in the toilet, no bloating, no issues. No acne. BUT TO BE CLEAR I do not eat cheese every day, I eat so much better and eggs I don't really want it unless I'm having a burger or its close to my period. Sometimes I'm not really hungry and just want a little snack and its always a butter latte, or slices of cheese. I also feel like humans have been fermenting cheese for YEARS and yea it can be addictive to some people but there is so many vitamins and nutrients in cheese and yogurt. Obviously if you are eating a block of cheese a day you have a problem. But even still I know some carnivore people who drink PINTS of heavy cream and lost weight. So how is that okay and cheese isn't T_T
I now agree with you on dairy. I used to think it was fine for some, but now i don't think adults should eat dairy. I feel the same about eggs now also. Liver especially. Now if someone can be allergic to it, i don't eat it lol. Beef, salt, water ftw
Doctor does matter, I have had doctors when I say I am doing keto/ carnivore they tell me they do not want me doing it. Plus they will not order the bloodwork I need or prescribe the meds.
Hey Dr. Berry; I have an interesting question that hope you get; I'm not one of your paid for viewers, it's a luxury I can't afford. I believe extended water fasting is a good way to flush the crap out of the body and you've said that it was natural for us to fatten up in the fall to get us through the winter. So, I suspect body fat may be nutrient dense. I've done 5, 10 up to 21 day fasts and always feel fine. Like an egg yolk the fat must have all the nutrients we need. What do you think?
I've searched Dr. Berry's videos and can't find his opinion on tomatoes and keto, other than him pointing out how ketchup has fructose added to it. They're high in lycopene and just a couple tbsp. of non sugar added paste 2X a week is all that is necessary.
I lost 30 pounds after a heart attack on the keto diet and it was so easy… But then Covid hit and what a great excuse to eat… Not really, but I did… Now I have such difficulty sticking to KETO….it’s so frustrating, and I think that even the stress from that causes such turmoil… I am 68 years old and diabetic and have had a Stroke and then had a heart attack… Any tips on how to change my thinking
With low stomach acid due to healing and using PPI's for gastritis would carnivore be a great way to start eating to transition off the PPI's? ( also hiatel hernia)
Dr, Berry, I started on Carnivore 30 days ago and have fluctuated between 207 to 204. I have eatern meat, meat, meat, protein all along. i am concerned that there has been no weight loss in thirty days and that I am not eliminating what I've taken in. This morning, although not feeling constipated, I took Ducolax and waiting to . . . I drink water and I cook in butter. I am not purchasing lean meat. HELP!! What am I missing???
I love Jacob's question. I was just talking with a friend about how this is a lot like spreading the gospel. They can complain about their lives and you can give them the answer, but you can't make them accept it. What did Jesus say? If you're not received kick the dust off your feet and leave that be (paraphrased by me, lol)
Dr. Berry. Your response to Eli's question on kidney stones needs to expanded. Yes oxalate stones wouldn't happen however you can develop uric acid kidney stones on carnivore if you are overeating protein (or lean protein). A supersaturation event of uric acid in the kidneys can rapidly form uric acid stones, which can be directly related protein wasting.
Don't bother, man. Dr Berry's answer to every question will always be pro carnivore. And the people who follow him, and who are on this comment section, all live in an echo chamber.
I'm on a carnivore diet. I'm trying to lower my A1c. I eat one meal a day. I miss eating some foods- like enchiladas and tacos. Can I eat these foods every once in awhile, without jeopardizing my health. Im pre diabetic.
QQQ I’m living in Philippines and would like to start a carnivore lifestyle. Is it helpful to have eggs and black coffee and a piece of toast with 7% sugar jam for breakfast and a tenderloin steak for lunch and no other food until the next breakfast. I thought it would help to have a piece of toast with jam for 2 weeks only to break it in for the carnivore diet. I do not have to lose weight.
Help! I have gained 5 lbs in two months on keto carnivore diet. I have a hard time dealing with result. I have never been overweight but at this rate, I will be by the end of the year.
1 orange is about 10 15 carbs so ketovore❤❤❤ just eat the orange if it helps you keep on path with your meat, I eat tomatoe and cucumber with my meat sometimes xx
My wife had a kidney transplant over a year ago. Would it be safe for her to do carnivore? Love your work. And thanks in advance if you answer my question. I’m from Perth Western Australia
@@leethal67 you are welcome. I live in US, Dr Chaffee is from US, but doing a nuerosurgery residency in Perth(if I am correct.) I believe he does private practice too. I connect with him on RU-vid and his website. He speaks of his patients with very challenging health issues and how carnivore diet helped with their recovery. I am not familiar with the other Dr you mentioned. I wish you and your wife the best in your health journey.
7:15 My husband is on Lupron, shot quarterly to suppress testosterone for prostate cancer... his PSA has been -0.04 consistently for the past year since he finished chemotherapy. We are 3 days into Carnivore to bring down his A1C level. Can Carnivore still help if he has 0 testosterone? We were Keto for 2 years, and he didn't have such a high A1C previously.
How much water is overdoing for 245 male. Since starting carnivore 2 weeks ago my body is wanting more water. Probably close to 2 gal a day now. An increase of close to a gallon for me . Losing weight and inches now
QQQ HI Dr Berry I’m on a keto carnivore diet I’m normal weight senior citizen. My doctor told me I might have Diabetes Mellitus I have frequent urination normal labs and vital signs. Any recommendations I’m waiting for two months to see an endocrinologist thank you
Hi Dr. Berry, I have been on carnivore since Jan. 23, 2024. I am a very controlled diabetic (type 2). Last A1c was 6. Will be having new blood draw in August. Eating little to no carbs. But have noticed that my morning blood sugars have gone from 90s to now creeping into low 100s. What can I do to stop this?
What do you think about having a piece of cheesecake every 3 months. And. 1 cup of blueberries/blackberries and raspberries-- 1x per week? Just love berries in summer But I know it can create a craving I’ve been doing carnivore for 6 months Steaks. Eggs and cheese mostly. Sheep’s cheese. Manchego. I also do smoked salmon from Trader Joe’s. And I drink coffee everyday. In summer it’s a bit harder to resist the beautiful blueberries. But also true that if I’ve had enough steak and eggs- I’m going to be ok. I felt really good after 2months. Seems like those god feelings have tapered off. But I’ve not been able to cold plunge either as I live in Redding CA. VERY HOT SUMMERS !! Thank you Doctor Fight the good fight Share the truth!
By the way- I make the cheesecake myself. I make them for my kid’s birthdays and wife’s birthday. Cheesecake and coffee is a good breakfast But anyway. I don’t mean to tempt anyone. If you’re craving cheesecake- you better make it yourself! And have lots of ppl to share it with. ❤😅
Take the medicine your doctor prescribes and go on carnivore diet. If your blood sugar is too low, tell your doc, they may lower your medication. I have T2 and haven't gotten to my quarterly check up yet. I did have to cut my medicine down to 1/4th because my blood sugar is too low for all the medicine. Good luck.
@@Jovonne73 Oh wow. You ought to research the side effects of ozempic, then consult with your doctor on your fears about it. If you have T2, doctors normally prescribe drugs like metformin, and/or glimepiride, or insulin. He must think you have great insurance to prescribe ozempic. I'm absolutely not a doctor, but I really hope you get on the carnivore diet to lower your A1C level. Maybe ask Dr Berry on his thoughts.
