This is so inspiring. I relate to her so much I never realized my diet was inducing my acne, eczema, and depression. I was plant based from age 13-16 until I finally realized barely now 3 months into an animal based diet that my problems were emerging from the food ! I would find myself as a vegan cheating on steak my family would cook until I went to the doctor to find I was anemic. I just took a blood test and was able to get my iron from a 4 to a 13! My goal is get to 15 which is optimal for me. I also lost 10 lbs and my skin cleared up (I used to have cystic acne ). My diet now is 90% animal products I fast 24 hours at least 3x a week and on the daily I do at least 15 hours. Ive been eating basically low carb paleo and have reduced my anti nutrient consumption greatly on an animal based diet and it’s been working wonders for me. I’m so happy I’m finally healing myself. Videos like this inspire me.

Not by much...And WHY do you need to consume a VEGAN animal? Cows dont hunt or consume ANY meat they are by nature 100% VEGAN...Sooooo you must consume a VEGAN dead body to survive? Does a Silver Back Gorilla eat meat or hunt? No. How about a Rhino? Nope....They dont need meat and neither do humans. YT DR. MILTON MILLS. Listen to a professional...@@valeriabustos9635

Steve Perry First of all Steve, you need to calm down. I never said that I NEED to consume meat however simply put, my health was not thriving on a plant based diet. I developed nutritional deficiencies, my acne was painful and cystic, and I was almost overweight. Respect the way I choose to eat, I eat the way that makes ME feel best, if you feel good eating vegan then go ahead do it! Nothing against that, but as a vegan my health was suffering and I care about myself and don’t want to see myself suffer

Cortisone shots degenerate joints when given repeatedly. They help only relieve symptoms temporarily. It’s sad that so many people go though this and not once does their doctor recommend diet change. I’m so glad Mikalia finally woke up through knowledge and started taking control of her health.

Thank you for sharing this! Mikhaila's emphasis on eliminating popular, but sub-optimal "zero carb" foods is something many of us need to hear. I used to resist her anti-dairy message, especially after discovering that raw milk cheese gave me /none/ of the obvious symptoms triggered by pasteurized cheese. Then I noticed more frequent migraines. Cut out butter, cheese, bacon, sausages, and pork rinds and went almost all beef. Going dairy-free, cutting the last of that processed meat, and eating beef heart/liver regularly, I feel my vitality increasing further still, a year and a half into this lifestyle. And, knock on cellulose, the food-triggered migraines are gone. Cheers! 🥩

Yes, milk and milk products from the dairy are not for everyone. However, people should be aware that there are a number of significant differences between the highly processed white liquid sold in supermarkets - and unprocessed - aka raw - milk. Many people who cannot tolerate milk from the supermarket can enjoy unprocessed milk, and products made from it, like yogurt, cheeses, butter, etc. - Even 'whole' milk in supermarkets has had the cream separated, the fat globules artificially reduced in size (so the cream won't rise), and the butterfat is added back to whatever level - 3.25% for 'whole' milk. Even the American industrial Holstein can produced around 4% butterfat on a high forage diet ( basically pasture and stored pasture). Jersey cows that are 100% 'grassfed' (good pasture naturally contains a wide range of plant diversity, including broad-leafed forage plants called forbs) and fed no grain will produce milk that is +/- 5% butterfat, and also higher in solids-not-fat (other nutrients such as protein and minerals). - The Omega 3s are in the FAT, so if fat content is reduced, so are the Omega 3s. Most producers of raw milk rely heavily on pasture. Many feed zero grain. Organic milk is significantly higher in Omega 3s, likely due to pasture requirements in the rules (though 'industrial organic' operations do not always meet pasture requirements), averaging around 3 times higher than conventional milk. The milk from 100% 'grassfed' cows can be 7 times higher in Omega 3s than conventional milk. - Vitamin content is reduced or destroyed by processing. - Immune factors are destroyed. These are present in higher concentrations in the colostrum, which Dr. Paul Mason refers to as being beneficial - but colostrum cannot be pasteurized, so some of the benefits vs issues with milk may be due to the processing. - Enzymes are destroyed, including lactase, which digests lactose. - Beneficial bacteria, aka probiotics, which are naturally present in unprocessed milk are destroyed by processing. When lactase and the beneficial bacteria are present, lactose issues are seldom a problem. - The casein protein may be altered by the heat of the flash pasteurization process. For more info: RealMilk.com (No affiliation) For some people, the A1 casein protein causes problems. This protein variation is the result of a spontaneous mutation in cattle that apparently occurred in northern Europe several thousand years ago, and is widespread among the cows in conventional milk producing operations. Many of the people producing unprocessed milk for sale have tested their cows and can offer A2 milk. The milk of sheep, goats, water buffalo, and humans is all the A2 type. Those who enjoy the benefits of dairy products may want to try and see if they react to sheep or goat cheeses - which are available in many supermarkets around the USA. Goat milk is widely available, as well. Like cows' milk, unprocessed is best. In States where direct sales of raw milk to the public is allowed, ask at feed stores, farmers markets, or check the Farm Garden section of Craigslist. (Also a good way to find local farms offering pastured eggs, pork, and grassfed beef, lamb, etc.)

I went carnivore and lost 53 lbs-gave myself a cheat meal for some summertime flavors at my birthday. That one day where I barely cheated sent me into a week of cravings...I did also have a bowl of ice cream later that day so it turned into a cheat day. the next week I also had a piece of cheesecake, and a few condiments...that was all I cheated-less than a week and my weight shot up 7 lbs! wtf? I was swollen again, tired again, had some nightmares and trouble sleeping...So back on track...and lost 5 of the 7 in 2 days...When I thought I might be blowing this and go back to being unhealthy rather than healing my brain almost exploded with “Oh Hell NO!”...Sure I am a bit bored of the lack of variety but I am never not satiated after some meat and fat. My heart is still healing-I know there are still veins with calcium!

@Jefferdaughter

Raw beef - IF from healthy animals processed in sanitary conditions - does not bother me. The idea of eating raw ground beef from supermarkets is downright frightening. Something over 80% of the beef in the USA is said to be processed in just 4 facilities. Beef trimmings from many animals from different sources are combined to make ground beef. In spite of inspections and regulations, I don't really trust the industrial food complex. Because of the exposed surface of ground (aka mince) meat, it is much more likely to contain higher levels of bacterial contamination than steaks or roasts. Instead, we prefer beef, and other meats, sourced directly from the farm - and custom processed by a local slaughter/butcher facility that we have personally visited, or at least those with solid reputations. Like most businesses, even the smaller local and regional meat processors vary in the quality of the work they do and the care they take not to mix your beef (or lamb, pork, goat, etc) with others. If you are lucky, you may even be able to find one willing to wrap your meat in butcher paper (unwaxed- which is plastic these days) - to avoid the transfer of harmful chemicals from plastic to your meat. We rinse supermarket beef to help remove any dye and flush some of the bacteria away. Then we sear it on the outside, while leaving the inside raw. This reduces the chance of consuming harmful bacteria, and provides the benefits of raw meat.

On milk and milk products from the dairy - Yes, these may not be for everyone. However, people should be aware that there are a number of significant differences between the highly processed white liquid sold in supermarkets - and unprocessed - aka raw - milk. Many people who cannot tolerate milk from the supermarket can enjoy unprocessed milk, and products made from it, like yogurt, cheeses, butter, etc with no reactions. The mutated A1 protein may be the cause of reactions in some people, and A2 milk may cause them no issues. Milk is very similar to blood. Most all carnivores, when lucky enough to get a lactating female, will eat the udder with the milk inside before anything else. According to Dr. Micheal Eades, this included early humans, but 'it was not a sustainable method of dairying', as he said. Other adult animals will readily consume milk if offered- cats, dogs (unprocessed milk causes few if any issues; all the old books on raising and caring for sick cats and dogs recommended milk), swine, poultry, etc. Goats and cows will readily drink milk, and sometimes suckle themselves. The Bedouin fed milk to their prized Arabian horses... The symbiotic relationship between dairy animals and their caretakers is a beautiful thing. A few of the differences: - Even 'whole' milk in supermarkets has had the cream separated, the fat globules artificially reduced in size (so the cream won't rise), and the butterfat is added back to whatever level - 3.25% for 'whole' milk. Even the American industrial Holstein can produced around 4% butterfat on a high forage diet ( basically pasture and stored pasture). The milk from 100% 'grassfed' cows can be 7 times higher in Omega 3s than conventional milk. - Vitamin content is reduced or destroyed by processing. Unprocessed milk contains all the known vitamins. 1st time seeing this video 6/2/22. 🏆Excellent video presentation! A video of Makaila's was one of 4 videos I came across and watched very serendipitously about 12 weeks ago. That has changed my life all to the Good in past 86 days and getting better by the passing day. The other three were Dr. Paul Mason on lectins (1st of many now that I have watched since that time 12 weeks ago) Dr Anthony Chaffee on the Carnivore diet with great relating historical information that made since to me. And the one that sealed the deal and sold me to try Keto-Carnivore was Dr Ken Berry. He made what he said seem Truth and honesty wrapped in a simple challenge the Triple B & E 90day challenge. And that was it for me...these four people had one thing in common they weren't selling vitamins they were offering truth and of course since then have heard maybe 2 dozen people I have no reason to disbelieve as they show why what they say is true. And I have heard a few besides them that told the same stuff heard for 50+ years that does not work as touted and as well others showed me why they say that garbage that goes against science but makes huge industries a very lucrative profit margin year after year with a global population getting ever more sicker by the decade. Makaila, Ted Talk video and Harvard presentation made me rethink the dogma I have followed. And this three mention were initially what made a believer in the last 86 days. I am getting huge chunks of my life back that I thought were never to be felt again. Kudos for these videos being posted and all these people that are showing you don't always have to stay sick. Maybe your diet is to blame...? Great video of Makaila and her presentation. 🏆👍

These insane "experts" whether vegan or carnivore promote a very unhealthy view of food to the average person, because for most people, being healthy has little to do with their diet and everything to do with their frequency of eating. Prior to this obesity and diabetic epidemic, the average westerner was healthy and thin. They still ate the same foods we eat today of all the food groups. The only real difference was they stuck with 3 square meals a day or less and did not snack.

@@kerryhamilton1968 - Thanks for the info. Many people on VLCHF diets, not just carnivore diets, find that just one meal a day is often enough - and sometimes find themselves spontaneously skipping a day here and there. Food as the kind of entertainment that junky snack foods provide is not likely to be a good idea. Yet procuring, preparing, and sharing food is and was a deeply rooted part of the human social experience. It is possible to do this in much healthier ways than has recently become the norm. Food also provide the building blocks for maintenance and repair of our bodies, not just fuel. :-)

Maybe some people have to reach the age of 20+ to begin to question what authorities tell them, especially when what they are told conflicts with or negates their own direct experience, or to think independently. Some children begin to do this around age 2, hence 'the terrible twos'. Others, of course, may take much, much longer. Reading some of the comments under videos on low carb or keto videos, where people say they are having difficulty knowing what to believe- after being told their whole lives in schools and through advertisements and by physicians, etc that they are supposed to base their diets on starches, the base of the food pyramid. Apparently many people are overwhelmed by conflicting information, and when it comes to diet, they often default to what they were told during their formative years by trusted authority figures, and what is marketed to them - the processed SAD diet.

Extremism is the real problem here. Most of her statements are filled with extremist rhetoric. I'm glad she could find a way to be healthy, but extremism is a clear manifestation of imbalance. Eventually, the extremist perspective that eating only meat will solve problems will catch up with you.

This is a nonsense how is she qualified to offer advice on a diet that's trending, does she know the medical symptoms of thousands of people watching this. There may well be experts out there who could endorse this diet bit she is not one of them, all east her father is responsible enough not to recommend this to anyone without knowing their medical history

She's not offering advice though, she's telling her story about what worked for her.

She was one speaker in a seminar that had around a dozen experts speaking. And she's just telling the world her story. Get a grip.
